KHOODEELAAR! Organiser Muhammad Haque puts in evidential context the sham cash for Crossrail by the opportunistic BAA [216]

This page was last edited at 2040 GMT London saturday 8 November 2008

Your [Richmond and Twickenham Times] report confirms the analysis that KHOODEELAAR! the campaign against Crossrail scam has been publishing for the past almost 5 years.

That Crossrail is not the main transport priority in and around London. That the EXISTING transport infrastructure and services warrant urgent attention. That there has been NO evidence of public demand for any of it [CROSSRAIL, that is].

That EVEN Gordon Brown’s own expert [as he considered Rod Eddington to be] reported in the Eddington Study on the future of the railway ‘service’s NO evidence for Crossrail. Indeed, as Channel 4 news expressly pointed out at the beginning of October 2007...

Eddington had ADVISED [Gordon Brown as the UK Finance Minister at the time of his report] AGAINST Crossrail. So what is the £16 Billion plus being spent on Crossrail for?

Ken Livingstone acted as the propagandist in chief for the Big Business lobby pressing the UK Govt to fork out £ Billions under covers of transport. But even Livingstone failed to find ANY mentionable support in the UK public for Crossrail..In their reports on the formal publication of the Eddington Study, ALL of ‘Fleet Street’ and the BBC carried unfounded hype for Crossrail.

The only major media organisation [and not a British one at all! ] that got the EDDINGTON REPORT right on the facts and published the substance accordingly was the US media group Forbes. They accurately reported that Eddington HAD not endorsed Crossrail. Now, around the alleged £230 contribution by BAA, ALL of Fleet Street has again been publishing untruths and hypes. The question is: do these media, as typified by the London EVENING STANDARD and the Guardian as among the most zealous spinners for Crossrail, have any senses of editorial responsibility at all? We are beginning to get sued to the BBC publishing more than one apology for the blunders that the Corporation indulges in at the expense of the licence-payers.

But the newspapers who claim that they are against the greedy bankers who have brought about the current financial crisis, must show that THEY are not in hock to the lobby that wants £16 Billion of UK public money to be wasted. The same media outfits have an even bigger duty to ask why the Crossrail Bill was not allowed to be debated by the ‘Select Committees’ in BOTH Houses. Who had pulled the strings and when will the truth be ‘conceded’ by the ‘free thinking’ democracy-backing British media? After the looters who are poised to pocket £Billions under Contracts in the name of Crossrail have bolted? By©Muhammad Haque 2005 Hrs GMT London Saturday 8 November 2008

Anti Heathrow campaigners suspicious of BAA’s Crossrail cash

Suspicions have been raised that BAA brokered a secret deal with the Government to allow a third runway at Heathrow after the air operator handed over £230m towards the Crossrail project.

Campaign groups Hacan and No- TRAG (No Third Runway Action Group) said the donation would cast doubt over whether the Government had promised to give the green light to expansion in return for the money.

Geraldine Nicholson, chairman of NoTRAG, said questions needed to be asked about what BAA would get in return, especially with the expansion decision looming.

She said: “£230m may only be a small part of the total cost of Crossrail, which is expected to reach £16bn, but it is money that a company like BAA with huge debts can ill-afford unless it has been promised something very good in return.”

John Stewart, chairman of Hacan, added: “The very fact that we are even asking these questions shows just how low the reputation of both BAA and the Department for Transport has sunk. Both organisations have lost the confidence of people at large.”

Crossrail would provide a link across the capital, connecting Heathrow and Maidenhead in the west with the City and Canary Wharf in the east.

Construction is set to begin in 2010, and services are due to start in 2017.

BAA denied the payment was part of an expansion deal with the Government, adding that Crossrail would take thousands of cars off the roads and complement its existing Heathrow Express service.

A spokesman said: “BAA is delighted to support the Crossrail scheme with a £230m funding package announced this week.

“This demonstrates our commitment to improving public transport access to Heathrow and reducing the environmental impact of our operation.

“It is entirely unrelated to the issue of airport capacity and in fact our discussions with the Department for Transport on Crossrail predate the aviation White Paper.”

The Department for Transport is due to announce its decision

KHOODEELAAR! Action against Crossrail hole scam-peddlers: Jim Fitzpatrick 'MP': the lies about 'jobs' [315]

When I wrote that piece [below] on 23 October 2007, 13 months ago, there was no widespread recognition about the UK recession...Indeed, the word was not even used.... Not for another 10 months or so...... In any discernible sense.... But the fact that the UK economy was heading for a prolonged downturn and possibly worse, could not be hidden ......Not to the students of corrupt economic agenda setters and looters

So when I said that Jim Fitzpatrick was misrepresenting the jobs picture, I did so by paying serious attention to all the variables and indices concerned.

The same sets of constant factors that are applied in determining the state of the economy were at play in January 2004 when I got involved in the intellectual task of systematically dissecting the crass scam called Crossrail....
On every key and central criteria what I have said in the past almost 5 years, has been vindicated...

And I sam saying this again to Gordon Brown: SCRAP CRASS CROSSRAIL...

Here is what I wrote on 23 October 2007 with special reference to joblessness in Tower Hamlets

1315 GMT London Tuesday 23.10.2007: CrossRail Jobs lies by East London MP Jim F Patrick

I have this open question to East London MP Jim F Patrick challenging him to show how the unending failures by the schools in Tower Hamlets – which are failing in effect to provide the requisite skills and qualifications to half of the school going population in the area if not more – can be reversed and to also show me how the market forces which operate in the UK economic decision-making can be replaced and if so by what alternatives.

For almost 4 years of the Khoodeelaar! campaign against CRASSrail, we have said, and shown with continuous production of current - up-to-date- evidence, that the CRASSrail hole link was not about the inner city area. We have also shown that there was no economic demand for the rail by the people in the borough of Tower Hamlets. We have shown that EVEN the touts of CRASSrail were themselves admitting that the CRASSrail line was essentially for Big Business and to meet a small part of the overall transport needs that can be found in London.

We have shown – and are continuing to show, that the local Tower Hamlets Council itself has failed and will go un to fail u show any substantive to the contrary.

The same is the case with the ‘local’ MP Jim F Patrick.

We are focussing on him for his own sake. If he has any sense, he will immediately renounce and retract the ignorant, untrue and pathetic statement he has made for CrossRail plotting liars.

Those liars say that CrossRail will bring benefits – that is the ordinary people in the borough of Tower Hamlets.

Jim F Patrick has said the same thing. Although in his statement as broadcast there was no direct use of the word CrossRail, we are treating it to be another instanced of Jim F Patrick's unwarranted and unrepresentative endorsement for CrossRail in context. Jim F Patrick is an avid backer of CRASSrail. This has to be seen in the overall career plan that he is following for himself. He will say anything to add a bit more ingratiation with the [Blaired UK central Govt] administration. It matters not to Jim F if what he says is banal, untrue and careless.

I am doing this latest examination of Jim F’s careeristic misrepresentation of the needs of the people in the East End of London as part of the Khoodeelaar! analysis if the lies that are continuing to be peddled by the touts of Big Business CRASSrail hole plot.

Jim F Patrick is one if the touts. There is a legal requirement en a MP to tell the truth. We have put everyone who has held any public position and has peddled the mantra if the CRASSrail that we shall take appropriate legal action against the t test the veracity of every substantive utterance or assertion that they make.

This time, the Khoodeelaar! Questioning of Jim F Patrick has been based en the London package as broadcast on the BBC TV’s ‘Politics Show’ on Sunday 21 October 2007.

That package was fronted by the BBC London political editor Tim Donovan.

BBC London presenter Tim Donavan’s introduction stated that “London has the most entrenched problem of unemployment and poverty…..”

The reporter Victoria Hollins was shown walking on the ground described in the BBC package as being Poplar in East London.

Victoria Hollins said that in Poplar…. “the rate of unemployment is almost twice the national average..”

Enter Jim F Patrick:
“There are more jobs moved into my constituency Poplar and Canning Town in the past 10 years than in any than in any other constituency in Britain

What’s happened is that most companies have relocated and have brought the staff with them! But those jobs are going to be there for generations to come…”

ACTION ARCHIVE on the Constitutional law challenges to the stooged MPs' 'select committee' on Crossrail, July 2006 [314]

With Britain’s network rail asking the office of rail regulators for almost an£8 Billion [see the times today 4 July 2006] and stating that it is likely to bring better benefits than CROSSRAIL, it is becoming clear that even the railways industry's core ranks of profit-making time-servers are themselves losing whatever interests they might have had in the crassly conceived crossrail bill.
These indications significantly support those that we have witnessed in the past month during the meetings of the HOUSE OF COMMONS SELECT COMMITTEE ON CROSSRAIL BILL. The select committee is itself now facing serious constitutional challenge from KHOODEELAAR! The campaign against crossrail that has been defending the east end of london for the past almost 3 years.

The legal challenge has been issued to the select committee under two sets of laws – the EUROPEAN CONVENTION FOR THE PROTECTION OF HUMAN RIGHTS AND FUNDAMENTAL FREEDOMS [=”ECHR’] and the law of defamation.

Updates on the legal actions will be posted on
