So overwhelming is the evidence that they have to, if they are to retain any credibility to James Murdoch’s claims that his ‘new’ organisation has any relationship with the facts on the ground! So we read in the print edition and on their web site [before Murdoch makes it inaccessible again as part of his prosperity and regeneration tactics] that the 2012 Games ‘work’ in East London is not ‘working for people in the East End of London’ after all….
KHOODEELAAR! TOLD YOU SO! That the boasts of Ken Livingstone – who was allowed to utter a clear boast on BBC TV Question Time in April 2008 to the effect that he had LIED to get the 2012 Olympic Games hosting to London to “regenerate the East End of London” [quotation marks and paraphrasing of report added] – were actionable at criminal law, has come true again. That the KHOODEELAAR! Representation of our demand, made by us at a formal session of the ‘local’ Tower Hamlets Council in 2007 included our then latest analysis and diagnosis to the effect that BOTH Crossrail and the 2012 games Hosting were being hyped by criminally irresponsible, anti-social, corrupt self-seeking touts who had flagrantly violated the evidence, that neither would benefit local people… has come true again…. LOSERS: Brits miss jobs

A STAGGERING 225,000 foreign workers have been signed up to build London's Olympics, sparking fears that Brits are LOSING the race for jobs.

Ministers promised the billions invested in the 2012 Games would be a LIFELINE for local workers and firms.

But the Olympic Development Authority (ODA), which is battling to get locals into the jobs, has found many of them unwilling to give up their BENEFITS.

And migrants are swiftly moving in to grab the work on offer. So far 224,720 migrants have signed up for jobs in the five East London boroughs hosting the Olympics since Britain won the bid in 2005. Many of the areas have high long-term unemployment and thousands of residents have NEVER done a day's work.

In Newham 17 per cent of people have always lived off benefits, and in Tower Hamlets it's 16 per cent. Labour MP Frank Field said: "There are 225,000 causes for shame here. People come from all over the globe to work in the Olympic boroughs - yet we can't get locals into work."

Last night an ODA spokesman insisted: "We give priority to local people seeking jobs."

To Samspain regards british workers being lazy.iam a pricework ENGLISH bricklayer as most bricklayers are. we only get paid by work done, so if you fancy a days work with me we will see who is lazy but some how dont think you will .Paul Davey bricklayer for 36years.

shouldn't the question be why are we paying people benefits when they are making no effort to find work? Stop giving free hand outs to these scroungers and they will soon start working then there will be no need for foreign labour

yes there are plenty of skilled construction workers but when agencys are offering polish and other migrant workers at less rates of pay the locals can,nt work for such a low rate. I have worked in the london area for over ten years on various projects including T 5.you may get the odd 1 or 2 that have some idea but on the whole pay rubbish you get rubbish but the accountants just see profit for the multi nationals

I live in New Zealand. The other day i was speaking to British backpackers who were on holiday here. They were trying to get jobs here in NZ or Australia, i asked them the reason why. They just replied they can't get jobs because of the of all the foreign labour, they work for any type of wage. Can you tell me if this is true?

If thats the case then the wages ODA are paying must be lower than people getting benefits which i find strange as £60 per week unemployment benefit is peanuts next to £25,000-£30,000 a year salary which i guess the ODA are really paying their builders.

Building is a very skilled job and not every one can do it, but ones who can should grab it with both hands and thank their lucky stars that they would have escaped the recession by getting these jobs.

What ever they build now will have life long bragging rights as they can say to people :- Look I built that and no one can put them down.

Any one with two brain cells can work out even if these jobs are contracts and are for 6-24 months, getting around £25,000-£30,000 a year salary is still much better than being stuck on the dole getting peanuts each week.

How can several thousands of Romanians and Bulgarians work here at all as only people with work permit can work in England from these countries.
Surely the construction industry does not lack skilled workers in England?

    KHOODEELAAR! Telling Boris Johnson to stop peddling CRASSrail and to start being truthful. Quit talking crass Boris.

    Why?

    For a start, Boris Johnson is increasingly coming across as being untenably ignorant. How this level of ignorance can be allowed in someone who is supposed to be making decisions about matters that significantly affect ordinary peoples' lives in London is an urgent issue. It is bound to get even more urgent if Boris Johnson does not stop talking rubbish.

    The KHOODEELAAR! Campaign is not commenting in detail at this stage on the CRASS role-playing 'local' Tower Hamlets Council which allegedly opposed the Columbus Tower, the 63 storey monstrosity planned 'in Canary Wharf'.

    We shall have more to say on Tower Hamlets council IN DUE COURSE.

    At this stage, suffice to remind all concerned that we are still engaged in demanding that Tower Hamlets council stop playing a touting role for CRASSrail scam.

    We here refer to the Crossrail holes being prepared to the East of the Vallance Road [west of Cambridge Heath Road, north of Whitechapel Road, London E1] and in Stepney and in a number of other places in the Borough of Tower Hamlets. We also reiterate the evidential point that the SAME planning outfit that has allegedly said No to the 63 Storey Columbus Tower has also enthusiastically backed the CRASSrail scam.

    And we remind Tower Hamlets Council controlling clique- which was obscenely smug as it allowed Denise Jones to utter the stupidity as an achievement when she mouthed words to the effect that her gang [she did not name them but used the word 'we'] had 'secured Crossrail'.

    Now it is the very same CRASSLY peddled Crossrail that is at the centre of this faked row between the same clique and Boris Johnson..

    We say again: CRASS rail will cause loads of political and career tears for all the ill-advised self-seekers who are still defying logic and evidence and peddling it...

    We say: Quit peddling Crossrail and start delivering urgent and vital democratic services to the people of Tower Hamlets. Stop colluding with CRASSrail.

    It is far from secure.

    It should not be secure.

    It should be scrapped.


    It is in this context that we point out to Boris Johnson that he is now untenably ignorant.

    For he is now pitted against another touting outfit, touting for the same Bechtel-backed CRASSrail scam.

    For now, we say about both Boris Johnson and Tower Hamlets Council:

    You are BOTH Crass.

    You cannot be seriously saying that you have the slightest basis in common sense in your peddling of CRASSrail.

    And your fake entanglement in this latest faked fiasco proves just how crass both of your roles have been thus far.

    NB: John Biggs! ‘London A******* Member ‘for’ [Really?] ‘City and East London: You have a cheek! Criticising Boris Johnson for being "all over the place”!       Just as KHOODEELAAR! said in the past 50 minutes, all ‘main’ ‘parties’ in Britain were corrupt.


      And they were politically playing the role set for them by Big Business.


      So it has been shown.

      The BBC rushes out an online confirmation of the 'defence' to the city and big business as pledged again by Nick Clegg! What a joker Mr. Clegg is whenever he fakes it as almost serious. Come to think of his OTT hyped colleague Vince Cable, he is no different. They are cosy and they are comfortably installed. The City crooks have nought to fear from the British Lib Dumbs.. In any event, the FSA itself is not as rigorous as the screaming reaction from the stooged Parties may suggest.

      But then they are all in it...

      The public can pay and endure. The truth is not likely to be the main purpose of any of the 'political Parties'. they will conceal. they will hide. They will never admit that they had anything to do with the miseries that the public put up with. In any field where the public is told that everything is going to be sorted but nothing ever is....

      So Boris Johnson did his stunt on the Jubilee Line.
      Then he fell back to toe the line. As he will be doing for as long as he craves office, power....

      Suffering his waffly utterances in defence of the very perpetrators whom Ken Livingstone had touted for was sick-making enough.....

      Seeing the BBC promote him to the rank of a de facto Gordon Brown agent is too sick making to put in words... These are the elements, as opposed to the ordinary public in and around London, that have been touting for CRASS-rail.....

        Boris Johnson cannot be talking seriously when he fakes it,. as he has just in the last 60 minutes done on the Radio 4 ‘World at one ‘ programme that he, Boris Johnson, is already a part of the insider team at the UK Treasury...Unless he is preparing officially to defect...

        What Boris’ latest ‘insider’ waffle as a party of the Brown-fronted Blaired regime PROVES is that he is another tout in place. For those who set the agenda. For Big Business and the City of London interests who have been the ones demanding public funds to serve their greed. Boris is a parrot that is making the same sounds that Ken Livingstone would have made had Livingstone been in occupation of the spot in the Onion in London SE1...

        This all goes to show that there is no difference really between the ‘mainstream’ ‘political’ ‘Parties’ in Britain. As we have seen on all major issues...

        The main bureaucracies that control these ‘parties’ are equally corrupt, equally undemocratic, equally unaccountable, equally unethical and equally unsustainable in the wider context…

        This also exposes as totally false Ken Livingstone's litany of lies as he delivered it at the ‘Altab Ali Park’ on the Sunday before the May 2008 ‘mayor election’ ion London.


        Those lies that Livingstone uttered were addressed at the 'hostaged' audience, a less than 50 member crowd of mainly Bangladeshis. Seelotees, in fact.


        They had been ‘harvested’ via the ‘local’ East London Mosque...

        They had been falsely gathered at the ‘Altab Ali Park’ on the false premiss that ‘Boris Johnson was the enemy of Muslims whereas Ken Livingstone was the saviour of Muslims’!!!!!! How the trade in ‘Muslim and Islam’ has been flourishing for white, non-Muslim politicos in the UK in this day and age! And those ‘Muslims’ as gathered at the ‘Altab Ali Park’ on the last Sunday of April 2008 were not shown any respect whatever. Neither by Livingstone.


        Nor by any of his entourage of bourgeois, all-white pretenders to socialism who too descended on the ‘Altab Ali Park’ for the sake of the evocative name. Nor indeed by any of the handful of ‘ethnic tokens’ that Ken Livingstone deigned to include as the lower-keyed parts of the display of Livingstone’s craving to stay in post. They abused the struggle against racism.

        They insulted the movement against racism. When they shrieked that if Boris Johnson got ‘elected’ instead of Livingstone then the safety and liberty of the likes of the Bangladeshis suffering that obscene parade at the ‘Altab Ali Park’ would be in danger....... How ignorant Boris Johnson sounds when he parrots as Ken Livingstone would have done! How satisfied Big Business must feel today, especially two days after Boris Johnson was forced to stage a stunt over the perennial closures of the Jubilee Line that almost exposed Bechtel as the incompetent outfit that it is in truth except when it comes to hiring touts in order to pocket huge sums of public money all over the place…....

          KHOODEELAAR! Noting the latest shallowness of the self-styled foremost railways expert C Wolmer: He is a tout & a peddler for Adonis lately of UK DafT


          Wolmer began his career somewhere in the former small time 'independent' media territory in City Road off the Old Street roundabout. Or was it at the Maxwell, the London DAILY NEWS?

          Whatever it was, Wolmer made significant claims at being independent and suggesting that he was not like the others doing the same transport stuff on other [what they called ‘rival’] newspapers.

          It was still only mainly newspapers.


          Neither TV nor the Internet had yet existed. Not in the way that they do now. So C [as crafty] Wolmer was unable to ape the self-styled double-brained willy, wily Willetts of the Tories in the way that he has done in the past few hours on the superfluity of ‘announcements’ on intercity trains across the south east and the southwest...

          C Wolmer is shallow and so he has to fake substance by ingratiating himself to what he figures are figures of weight. Like the idiotic Willetts. This is a circular matter. Like newspaper cuttings. Unlike the newspaper cuttings today's fakery takes a different, less time-consuming form. But the shallowness, the fakery, the immorality stays. Perpetually.

          Why else would C Wolmer end up flogging Andrew Adonis’ image as a railway fan? OF what use is that to policy? To accountability? Adonis not only gets mentioned as a railway fan more than as anything he has done to really improve things on the transport front but he gets cited as a railway fan even when the matter had is nothing whatever to do with his being a fan or not. Yet the BBC does keep giving C Wolmer the spot or two from time to time.

          As they do to most of the professional parasites pretending to be talking sense when all they are after is a spot on the BBC and a bit on the side off the UK TV licence payers.

          With these self-seekers ‘editing’ and dishing out what is ‘news’ and what is fact [as spluttered out by C Wolmer on Wednesday 26 August 2009], there is no danger in the foreseeable future of the UK public getting the truth from the Media War Complex in Britain....

          Before the true costs of the Crossrail scam in London are known, tens of £Billions of public money will have been wasted and in turn pocketed by the real agenda setters and their crooked touts in places operating the agenda for the big Looters, also known as Big Business also known in this context as the Military Industrial Complex..

          The Conservative Party is scrutinising funding plans for Crossrail amid speculation that the £16bn project could be delayed.
          The shadow chief secretary to the Treasury, Philip Hammond, is understood to have concerns over private sector funding of the scheme, which will build a railway line from Heathrow airport to Canary Wharf in London's Docklands and Essex.
          Hammond, who will be charged with cutting public spending should the Tories win the next election, is determined to cap the government's direct contribution to the programme at £5bn and is concerned the state will be forced to step in if there is a shortfall in the contribution from a business rate levy and the private sector of around £6bn.
          Senior figures at Crossrail are confident the scheme will not be scrapped because major project management contracts have been signed. But there are expectations in the rail industry that the Conservatives will have to push back the 2017 opening. "The fact that the project is still being discussed is quite significant. The Conservatives might have to make a judgment on this before the end of the year," said one rail industry source.
          The shadow minister for transport, Stephen Hammond, said: "We will review all projects to ensure that they meet the funding criteria set out and represent the best value for money."
          Crossrail's costs are covered by five sources: the Department for Transport with £5bn; Transport for London with £2.7bn from fare revenues; Network Rail with £2.3bn; the Greater London Authority with £3.5bn through increased business rates; and private sector parties, including Heathrow owner BAA, the City of London, Canary Wharf Group and Berkeley Homes, with £2.5bn.
          The Conservative team under shadow chancellor George Osborne is concerned that businesses will struggle to meet the increased business rate payments and that the £2.5bn private sector contribution will also buckle under the recession, placing a question mark over more than a third of Crossrail's budget.
          Under that scenario, the state would have to step in but the state of public finances effectively rules out such a move. According to PricewaterhouseCoopers, narrowing the budget deficit to acceptable levels will require real-term cuts of at least 11% in department spending over the three years to 2013-14.

            In the course of the KHOODEELAAR! Campaign against the Crossrail scam, we have observed a few things about ‘politics’, ‘politicians’.

            And above all, about the UK Parliament. What we have observed, found, encountered, discovered and noticed has not always been publicly discussed.


            For to discuss all the items we have observed would have demanded time, space and energy that will be well in excess of what is ordinarily available.

            The time, energy and resource that we have invested in the defence of the community against the agenda typified in Crossrail have been considerable.

            How considerable?

            A clue is available in the output of MPs.

            As they are assumed to enjoy legitimacy not available to ordinary people in the community, the conduct of MPs is a ‘standard’ that can be applied to evaluate the work of non-MPs.

            In the case of a campaign such as KHOODEELAAR! Which has been dedicated to foiling the particular attacks as contained in the CrossRail agenda, the resources, the time and the energy have been easily those claimed to have been employed by say twenty MPs.

            Multiply 20 by six and you have the equivalent of 120 MPs per year.

            Multiply 120 by the average expenses claimed by the collection of 20 MPs and you begin to get a picture. Just of the costs incurred.

            Unlike the fiddler MPs whose expenses have been fraudulently claimed and pocketed, we did not make any claim whatever.

              The Reuters news agency is reporting today [Thursday 20 August 2009] that the ‘Londonpaper’, the so-called free sheet [it is not at all free, a subject we shall discuss in a later comment] ‘London evening paper’, is set to close after the publisher the Rupert Murdoch Media empire, found it was running on a ‘loss’.

              Murdoch’s son James MURDOCH is quoted in the REUTERS report as saying that in deciding to close down the title his company has taken a “tough decision that reflects our priorities as a business”.

              Media analysts as well as Murdoch’s rivals the Daily Mail Group are all agreed that the UK economy is still in crisis and that neither publisher could make profit on their ‘free titles’. The Daily Mail Group publishes London Lite, which too is a loss making part of the Group’s commercial media operations.

              So shouldn’t both Rupert Murdoch and the Daily Mail Group be talking up the prospects for business in London? Now that ‘Crossrail’ is being extended to York?

              That question is crass, isn’t it?

              But we had to pose it here and now so that we are not ‘treated to’ a surprise when Boris Johnson eventually returns to London from Corsica and resumes his version of the lunatic fantasising that he evidently has careeristically inherited from the other wasteful faker at the expense of London Ken Livingstone.

              Like a mechanically devised frenetic robot programmed to behave as a zombie out of rational balance or restraint, Boris Johnson has been performing the line that starts with a number of ‘positive’ words and then the key utterance centres on the ‘magic’ of Crossrail!

              Crossrail – the robot ‘mayor’ says, will deliver magical solutions to all of London’s problems. Crossrail – the loony tune [how R Reagan would love Boris Johnson!] bellows, will save London from swine flu, make housing better, rid the capital of knife crime and recalcitrant Met Police Commissioners with too much attachments to Blair years!

              Crossrail, guffaws Boris Johnson, will make him look decent and law abiding even in the embarrassment of his unauthorized shed in Islington!

              Crossrail, says Boris, will make him look competent.

              Even a sage!

              Especially when he delivers the programmed lines so beloved of the crooks in the banks and the City of London square mile….

              Which is where his predecessor in post at the Onion in London SE1 contrived HIS deals with some of the shadiest characters in the Square Mile….

              We should say, for one of his summer breaks.

              How else could K. Livingstone boast on the BBC Question Time [April 2008] and repeatedly say that he had LIED about the 'benefits' to London of hosting the 2012 Games? ‘Question Time’ fronter David Dimbleby made a token number of points at Livingstone but on the whole Dimbore let Lyingstill get away.

              None of the heavily censored and security-vetted and politically stifled ‘audience’ staged by the BBC as its N’th plug for the OTT ‘mayor of London elections’ [that was then a week away] showed to have a clue as to the brazen outrage of a lying Ken Livingstone being given the platform with the liar being left to carry on lying.....

              When ALL objective criteria and independently verifiable indicators so far show beyond any doubt whatever that the 2012 Games hosting event will make ordinary ‘Londoners’ pay for the debts rather than gain anything.

              However, the same is not the case for Sebastian Coe himself. He has picked up another pay rise in the last year.

              His personal benefits, like the benefits being reaped by K Livingstone, are soaring!

              From £285,000 per year to £357,000 per year. And that is only the official, published number!

                University of York celebrates new rail link

                The University of York today announced a major new collaboration with Crossrail Ltd, to support a new course in Computer Science.
                Through a new agreement, Crossrail, the company delivering the new railway for London and the South-East -- Europe's largest civil engineering project -- will provide annual sponsorship of £60,000 for the Master of Engineering course in Embedded Systems.
                The four-year course offered by the University's Department of Computer Science aims to give students practical experience of hardware and software development and working with a major industrial collaborator.
                Crossrail will be involved in the design of the course prospectus and will also provide guest lectures, as well as an annual prize of £250 for the outstanding student. Students on the course will be able to visit Crossrail's premises in London and may also be offered one-year internships on the project.
                An embedded systems laboratory in the new Computer Science building currently under construction on the University's Heslington East campus expansion will be named 'the Crossrail Laboratory'.
                The agreement will see the establishment of an annual Crossrail public lecture which will feature speakers from the rail sector. The Department will also explore the potential for research projects and workshops with Crossrail.
                The Head of Computer Science at York, Professor John McDermid, said: "This is an exciting partnership with a company behind the transformation of transport infrastructure in one of the world's great cities. Crossrail's involvement will result in students with first-hand experience of working with embedded systems, and the technical and personal skills to be of immediate and long-term benefit to industry."
                Crossrail's Talent and Resources Director, Valerie Todd , said: "Crossrail is a project of national significance and has always valued investment in training future talent. The Master of Engineering course will help foster such talent by providing a high-quality learning environment creating a large bank of skilled engineers who will be an asset to the industry."

                  Kill Crossrail. Kill it now. Offer it up as London's gift to public sector sanity, while there is still time to avoid millions of pounds climbing into billions on a project that London does not need. What London needs is a fully working, modernised Tube. So kill Crossrail to save the Tube.

                  Crossrail, with a completely new rail tunnel from Paddington to Liverpool Street, has few friends. It has been stopped and restarted too many times to count over the past quarter-century. When Gordon Brown said in 2007 that "it will definitely proceed", sceptics sensed the cold hand of death grip its throat.

                  When Whitehall set out a tripartite funding package for the line in 2008, the caveats and qualifications grew in number. In an interview in February the transport minister, Lord Adonis, warned the world that, if Londoners do not raise their two-thirds share, "the Mayor understands that Crossrail will collapse ... ".

                  Mention Crossrail to Boris Johnson and his normally open, cheerful visage changes to that of a parent just told his kids are on drugs. He starts to shake. When reminded that he once said Crossrail was "one of those times you have to say, get in that hole and keep digging" the look becomes a rictus.

                  At a farewell dinner at City Hall earlier this month, the outgoing head of Transport for London, Tim O'Toole, hinted at his known private view that Crossrail is capital madness. He pleaded with his colleagues to fight instead for the existing Tube, now teetering on the brink of insolvency. TfL executives know that continuing with Crossrail will eat money and distract management for a decade.

                  It would yield nothing but bad news stories, while severely disrupting traffic in central London just when it will be recovering from the water mains chaos. Test drilling is already upheaving St Giles.

                  Crossrail is no longer a railway that makes sense. Back in the Eighties it was way behind the Jubilee line and the then (and now) top priority, a new northeast/southwest line from Hackney to Chelsea and beyond. Lines were needed to fill the Tube-less no-man's-lands of Greenwich and Chelsea/Fulham.

                  It took Margaret Thatcher to force through the Jubilee line to help the Reichman brothers build Canary Wharf. Chelsea/Hackney has no such power backers.

                  This project's only real friends have been in the City, eager to fend off the "threat" from Docklands and garner the bulk of the 900,000 extra office jobs predicted for London a decade ago. Nobody expects that need now. The Central line's parallel capacity can easily be increased by station improvements and better management.

                  Crossrail's backers have duly fallen back on that catch-all for any extravagant project, "urban regeneration". But that involves taking the line far out to the east, at further cost. For all the efforts of consultants to prove otherwise, this line is neither profitable nor a priority for economic renewal.

                  Boris Johnson now has a golden chance. He knows the capital must tighten its belt somehow - especially after he failed to curb the gargantuan appetite of the Olympics (costing more than half the £16billion total for Crossrail).

                  Johnson has already had to end his predecessor's costly fantasies, the Thames Gateway bridge, the Cross-river tram and the Dagenham light railway extension.

                  The Government has offered £5.6billion to the Crossrail budget. The rest must come from a raised London business rate (£3.5billion), borrowing against so-called train access charges (£2.3billion) and £2.7billion from TfL, this time borrowing against future fares.

                  Given the recent history of Tube finances, these figures are wholly unreal. TfL is close to technical bankruptcy. Borrowing against future revenue is mad, especially when it has already been assigned to meet Crossrail's running costs. Has London learned nothing about dodgy accounting from the past five years of such projects?

                  Meanwhile the City Corporation is offering a meagre £200million, on top of which is budgeted £150million from City businesses and, once upon a time, £230million from the airports authority, BAA. Lord Adonis claims this amounts to a further £750million, which is inconceivable. The truth is that Crossrail is another financial pig in a poke.

                  The Government has already poured £2billion in extra guilt money into the Tube to finance its public-private partnership (PPP), the sunk cost of this now largely aborted scheme. No minister or official has ever taken responsibility for it - indeed the official, Shriti Vadera, has been rewarded with both a peerage and a ministry.

                  In addition, the Government has pledged a huge £39billion to TfL over the next decade, a sum higher than anything conceived during nationalisation. This, it says, will have to embrace the completion of the PPP scheme and Crossrail. But the latter is not formally ring-fenced.

                  This is the Mayor's great opportunity. He has a £1.4billion hole in his transport budget already and must somehow fund £3billion of debt left over from the Treasury's collapsed Metronet infrastructure company.

                  Adonis said last November that there was no way he would plug this hole, despite it being one of the Government's own creation. He could hardly have given a more direct indication of his willingness to see Crossrail crash.

                  Johnson could now argue that the £5.6billion for Crossrail be switched to other Tube projects, such as resignalling the Bakerloo and Piccadilly lines and replacing Metropolitan line stock, projects that may anyway have to be postponed to meet the cost of Crossrail. Cancelling the latter would relieve the Tube budget of a tidal wave of uncertain costs now advancing down the track.

                  This would enable Johnson to declare himself the saviour of London's Underground railway, after a decade of mismanagement and financial chaos.

                  By liberating himself from Crossrail and demanding that London be allowed to keep its transport grant, he could begin to reconstruct TfL's finances and meet its voracious appetite for new signals, stations and rolling stock. He could declare a clean slate.

                  Johnson need not fear the Government on this: if ministers wanted Crossrail they would have paid for it. He need not fear the City.

                  He can use the recession as an excuse to put this white elephant to sleep while garnering the popularity of restoring London's transport system to sanity. But first he must kill Crossrail.

Amid the loud confusion surrounding who is allegedly in charge during Gordon Brown's absence on alleged holiday from his alleged official address at No. 10 Downing Street, at least two wannabes have been making forays into the notional spot of the top job.

And on and on..

                        It is common knowledge in ‘Fleet Street’ this week that Mandy Mandelson has been running ‘the show’. However dismal that ‘show’ is.. And even the allegedly Tory weekly the OTT-Murdoched Spectator [still associated with that dire, dire self-serving opportunist Andrew Neil, still prostrate at the feet of Murdoch despite the false denials] is poking fun at the semi-sunk Gordon Brown and hiring their shameless adulterer – Ooops, one of the Spectator’s shameless adulterers – the Guardians’ Simon Hogit to ram home the wounding scenario that the Devil itself is about to be ‘coroneted’…

                        Who in their proper, sound, rational mind could blame those that may be looking out for a real democrat…

                        True, Mandy is no such thing.. But we still comment in hope… Against the dismal reality summarised above of the Brown-fronted Blaired regime, we are faced in inner city East London [that ‘inner city’ has been confirmed by the last but one caller to the BBC radio 4 programme ‘Any Answers’ , as monitored by the KHOODEELAAR! Campaign this afternoon] with a liability called Jim F***Patrick. The liability is a deficit. The deficit is a denial. Like he was exhibiting on that day in June 2007 when the KHOODEELAAR! Campaign was demonstrating in Osborn Street, [leading from the south, to Brick Lane, London E1] to tell the then visiting Deputy Dummyship candidate Alan Johnson that his record in backing Crossrail had been crass. As we were focussing on Alan Johnson and his many ethnicity-linked collection of ‘locally linked’; faces, we noticed that Jim F***trick was busily posing before a satellite TV camera crew, struggling to make a sensible statement that would show that what was crass was right for him… We drew due attention to the absurd role that he was then playing… And a fraction of the ire that the No to "Crossrail hole scam" campaigners felt at Jim F’s role, was also recorded for the foreseeable future, in a bulletin or two…

                        What we did not say, mainly out of kindness and cultural awareness, was that Jim F was less than electorally, politically socially acceptable…..That he ought never to have been given the votes at all.. It seems that the couple whose wedding day was so patehtically defamed by this ‘MP’ have decided that they have had enough of this badly behaved, bad mannered ‘MP’. They have stated on UK-wide TV news bulletins that they are not going to vote for him. Again… Just as KHOODEELAAR! Had told all concerned years ago…So badly behaved has Jim F been that even the BBC has now broadcast quite a few comments to the same effect about him.

                        How dare Jim F expect [or assume] be taken seriously on a recent stint as a ‘Transport’ Minister deserving of the attention that he ought to merit but fails to do?

                          Is the UK “Taxpayers’ Alliance’ a Tory party front outfit? If it isn’t one then why does it receive so many prominent and persistently positive coverage in the London DAILY MAIL and the London DAILY TELEGRAPH? Why has it [the UK ‘Taxpayers’ Alliance’] failed to show its ‘usual’ rigour in its assessment [!!!!???] [we reproduce below from the Taxpayers Alliance web site of today's date] of Boris Johnson and Crossrail? We put this exclusively investigative question after studying the ‘TPA’ ‘statements’ and their coverage in the two titles [Daily Mail and the Daily Telegraph].

                          Our study has taken place during the past 24 months. We are asking this question because we want rigour, impartiality and objectivity in all things to do with the conduct of the ‘state’ in Britain. Or rather, the conduct of those who make up the ‘British state’ as far as they can be visibly and most importantly electorally identified….

                          If the TPA are a Tory sympathisers’ band then they must declare this.

                          So that the public will be able to make up their minds about why the TPA only intervenes in some of the spending and taxation issues while leaving others totally unexposed….

                          We also find the TPA’s repeatedly positive references to BORIS Johnson a most ‘puzzling’ [!!!!!] event indeed….

                            HOODEELAAR! makes available the n’th advice to BOJo, to the effect that he, BoJo, should concentrate his mind and get to know the facts logically

                            KHOODEELAAR! Continuing to show generosity to Boris Johnson for the sake of the ordinary people of London. KHOODEELAAR! makes available the n’th advice to BOJo, to the effect that he, BoJo, should concentrate his mind and get to know the facts in the logical order.  Khoodeelaar! Would ideally back any genuine bid to hold the bureaucracy of the USA to account. But on this occasion, Boris has got his facts upside down. Instead of making politically prancing pronouncements [like his latest one that he will withhold planning permission to the USA mission encampment on a new south London site in Wandsworth borough] that are devoid of any weight, BoJo should learn about CRASSrail and what actually propelled the UK Parliament - or rather, the ‘main residents in it” to rubber stamp the ‘Crossrail Bill’ into the ‘CrossRail Act’ in July 2008. If BoJo does that then he will find that   it was the USA Military Industrial Complex component, very much part of the USA Empire Mode, BECHTEL that exercised the real influence over the UK Parliament… So, if Boris Johnson wants to get the USA mission personnel to pay him [BoJo], he can get it more efficiently by calling on the power of BECHTEL and all that BECHTEL conveys…But Boris won’t do that. Lest he offends BECHTEL.. And as Boris has displayed so far in his consistently craven peddling of the City of London and the Bankers, he knows where he gets his huge sized ‘chicken feed’… He will behave exactly and in effect persistently as a loyal peddler of those interests as his predecessor Ken Livingstone had done…. There is no difference between crass-role Ken and crass-role Boris. First names or last names. They are insignificant ‘differences’. They are as one when it comes to backing Big Business and benefiting from the exercise and the role…

                            London mayor Boris Johnson has threatened to refuse plans for the

                            £275M US embassy because they do not include a contribution to

                            London’s £16bn Crossrail link, a condition that applies to all major

                            developments in central London.

                            In addition, Government watchdog, the Commission for Architecture and the

                            Built Environment, has rejected draft designs for the site near the south bank of

                            the Thames.

                            The commissioners - including architects Piers Gough and Jason Prior, who drew

                            up the London 2012 masterplan and Olympic Park — are likely to have

                            considerable influence with Wandsworth Council.

                            They write in a letter to planners: “We call into question several key urban design

                            principles of the site layout: the relationship of the development to Nine Elms

                            Lane, the nature and deliverability of the proposed public-realm elements outside

                            the site boundary and the form of the site footprint in relation to new road

                            layouts and adjacent sites.”

                            The embassy website reports that four architectural firms have been shortlisted:

                            Kieran Timberlake, Morphosis, PEI Cobb Freed and Richard

                            Nearly 700 businesses in Kingston who are likely to be asked to pay for Crossrail should be repaid with more investment in transport locally, an MP has said.

                            Firms from across London will be asked to pay from their business rates from next April, to pay for the high-speed east to west route which will link Heathrow with the City and Canary Wharf.

                            Kingston companies above a rateable value of £50,000 would be asked to contribute £2.57m in total - 1.4 per cent of the total cost.

                            Susan Kramer, MP for Richmond Park and north Kingston said: “In return, we must get real investment to solve some of the transport problems we have locally.

                            “While extensive works are going on at weekends to improve the Tube network, we are seeing very little gain locally.

                            “The quid pro quo for the support from our area must be more investment to reduce overcrowding, increase train capacity and mitigate the effects of Airtrack on level crossings.”

                            Last week the Liberal Democrats who controlKingston Council said they were “angered” by the funding proposals, despite a report saying Kingston could reap up to £18.3m from benefits as “better paid” Londoners spend their money in the borough.

                            In 2004, an official report said the potential cost of the Kingston extension was close to £1bn, effectively ruling out the link.

                            This is further to our telephone conversation in the past 
                            20 minutes. 
                            Lib Dem MPs Susan Kramer is full of contradictions. 
                            As a publicly claiming economics-conscious career- 
                            carrying person with almost acceptable ‘international’ 
                            links, she is being irresponsible with her latest stunt for 
                            Crossrail. ..she has not shown why her so-called quid 
                            pro quo demand is realistic, let alone fundable. I put a 
                            series of costs and priority related questions to her 
                            office in the past hour. There was no evidence from her 
                            office justifying Ms Kramer’s stunt. Nor is there any 
                            sign that she has done any study of the transport needs 
                            of london as a whole. It s additionally irresponsible that 
                            she should repeatedly confuse her constituents by 
                            talking and 'moving' in every direction about transport. 
                            Crossrail is wasteful, diversionary scam. There is no 
                            need for it. What the people of London need is an 
                            improved standard of hardware and manners by 
                            transport personnel...and accountable, honest set of MPs 
                            and local and regional political decision makers. Not 
                            another debts-causing scam...Susan Kramer should 
                            support the call for the scrapping of Crossrail. Not add 
                            to the list of subsidiary wasteful indulgences to fund the 
                            main scam..

                            Thanks for that khoodeelar, I don't think there's any danger of anyone believing anything that an MP says, though. At least not unless they show that it's thoroughly well-researched, which MP's rarely if ever do.

                            I'm not quite convinced that "improved standard" of hardware and transport staff manners is one of the things that the people of London needs - after all, how much would this cost?

                            Accountable and honest MPs would be nice, though, but where would you get them from? I'm not sure that such a being exists. Personally I think that elections and "democracy" is nothing but a facade.

                            If you want something done, you can't rely on the government to do it; no, you've got to do it yourself. That's the way it is, and no posturing about how our so-called "democracy" is supposedly better than the system they have in Iran or the People's Republic of China is going to make the slightest bit of difference to that.

                            Thanks for your comments, Fred. The KHOODEELAAR! Campaign is against Crossrail for the obvious reason that it is uneconomic. We are also against Crossrail because the scam has been blatantly and quite corruptly pushed through the UK Parliament by the Executive defying the authority of Parliament. Or at least by defying the democratic authority that ought to have been asserted by the ordinary members of Parliament.
                            KHOODEELAAR! has sought in the past nearly six years since we began the campaign against the Crossrail scam, to tell the two Houses of parliament, we lodged formal objections to the ‘Crossrail Bill Select Committee’ in the House of Lords and before that, a number of our affiliated groups, including the Spitalfields Small Business Association plus several thousand local traders, residents and tenants from across the East End of London signed our communications and formal letters of objections via a listed number of objectors. We wanted Parliament to hear the evidence that Crossrail was not only NOT wanted by the people of the East End or by the people across London but that there was no economic let alone environmental justification for the scam.. Neither House of the UK ‘Parliament’ would allow our evidence to be put to them! Besides, the House of Commons version of the ‘Select Committee’, as chaired by Alan Meale MP , stopped one MP from raising questions about a Crossrail Whitechapel station. That station ‘scheme’ was a direct bribe made to appease and recruit the controlling clique on the local Tower Hamlets Council fore the purpose of the Big Business scam. The reason, as given by Alan Meale –if it can be treated as reason – was that on 19 July 2005 the House of Commons had barred any real examination of the Crossrail scam to be done by the ‘Select Committee’. So what was the point of the Select Committee? The public did not know in June 2006 what they came to know in June 2009, three years later. That the Houses of ‘Parliament’ have been reduced to Houses of Stooges and touts. There is no evidence of any democratic, independent. Objective and rigorous and consistent challenge on any issue that matters to the public in this country by either Houses to the Executive. This is far worse than anything has been associated with Guy Fawkes and his over-recited plans to physically do away with the Palace now worthy of being called Ghostsminster. Any examination of the Crossrail ‘negotiations’ along the original stated route will confirm the pattern of corruption as the key feature of the process. That so much of the Crossrail scam peddling is done by MPs and peers and not by any recognised ordinary public more than proves the diagnosis that it has been a ploy by unaccountable forces that are bent on looting £Billions of UK public money. Khoodeelaar! has been seeking to draw attention to the one thing the ordinary people still can do in this country. SAY NO. It will save £Billions if more people start to say No like we have been saying. It will be most prudent to say No now than after the ‘horse has bolted’. Unlike Gordon Brown, we remain ordinarily committed to the virtue of prudence in public finance and public decision-making. Despite the hype, neither the Conservatives nor the Lib Dems as the two numerically major parties of Opposition have done its work of holding the Executive to account at all on this.
