KHOODEELAAR! told you so! The MPs Select Committee on the Treasury has not been rigorous or competent or informed enough.....10 February 2009

2355 Hrs GMT London Tuesday 10 February 2009:

Aadhikaronline published 'NOT GOOD ENOUGH' at 1330 Hrs GMT today {Tuesday 10 February 2009] as the summary of our findings on the conduct by the UK House of Commons [‘The Lower House’] ’Treasury Select Committee’ who were repeatedly showed during the day as b being involved in the ‘grilling of the bankers’.

More than ten hours and all the “mainstream commentary slots” later, it is clear that the AADHIKARonline conclusion was correct.

And all the commentaries have vindicated our finding...

How then is it that we are NOT IMPRESSED BY THOSE COMMENTARIES EITHER?

We could start by citing a far worse example than Robert Peston of the BBC!

We know that evidence exists showing reason and grounds backing a demand that PESTON himself should have been sitting there near the four ex bankers!

‘Mayalove’ sets House on fire
SP, Cong MLAs allege Governor soft on UP CM

Tribune News Service

Lucknow, February 10
The Uttar Pradesh Assembly saw a new low when Samajwadi Party (SP) members, alleging his “softness” towards the wrongdoings of the Mayawati government, hurled paper balls and missives at Governor TV Rajeshwar as he stood at the Speaker's podium to address the House on the opening day of the budget session today.

While the entire opposition was expressing its protest against the BSP government, BJP had announced to keep away from the proceedings.

Congress kept itself to raising anti-government slogans and displaying anti-government banners. SP members, however, rushed to the well and even climbed the reporters’ desk, heckling the Governor and throwing paper balls at him while demanding the dismissal of the 20-month-old Mayawati government.

After urging the MLAs to take their seats, a bemused Governor kept observing the noisy proceedings for a few seconds, read a part of his speech of which only ‘Jai Hind’ was audible. The customary address taken as “read” and “carried out”, the Governor left and the House was adjourned.

While last year’s joint session was disrupted by the SP MLAs by releasing hundreds of black balloons which floated up to the dome, this year they and the Congress fished out cloth banners in large numbers from their pockets with anti-government and anti-Mayawati slogans. “Bhrashtachar - Apradh ki khuli azaadi; UP ki ho rahi barbaadi (corruption - crime rule the roost; UP is going to the dogs)” - read one of the banners, while another said, “UP hua kangaal; Behenji hui malamaal (UP is turning poor but Behenji is loaded with money)”.

Talking to the media after leaving the house, Leader of Opposition Mulayam Singh Yadav lashed out at the Governor, charging him of working for the BSP government.

Commenting on the Governor’s “softness” towards the Mayawati government, the Samajwadi Party president remarked: “When I was the Chief Minister, this very Governor used to shoot off letters running down my government, but he has turned a blind eye to glaring misdeeds of the Mayawati government.”

Yadav wanted to know why the Governor had visited Auraiya after the murder of PWD engineer Manoj Kumar Gupta at the hands of ruling party MLA Shekhar Tiwari, who was “openly indulging in extortion to fill Mayawati’s private coffers”.

KHOODEELAAR! TOLD YOU SO! That the crass peddlers of the crassly conceived Millennium Dome had lied on its 'attraction and worth'

LONDON (Reuters) - The owner of London's O2 arena said on Monday it was planning to sell the landmark dome-shaped venue, which is set to host pop stars Tina Turner and Madonna later this year.

Meridian Delta Dome Limited (MDL), a joint venture between Quintain Estates and Australia's Lend Lease, said it had appointed real estate agency Savills to market the 999-year leasehold property.

A spokeswoman for the joint venture told Reuters that the sale would not affect a 55-year operating lease currently held by U.S.-based entertainment presenter AEG.

"It is MDL's long lease that is being marketed, which includes the 1.5 million pound rental income from AEG for the O2," she said, adding that scheduled shows were proceeding.

The spokeswoman declined to comment on media reports that have priced the dome-shaped property -- originally dubbed the Millennium Dome -- at 35 million pounds.

UK property firms have been lining up assets for sale in the current market downturn as they seek to reduce debt and protect dividends.

British Land announced on Monday that it had sold a 50 percent stake in the Meadowhall Shopping Centre for 587.7 million pounds, while Land Securities Group sold its subsidiary Trillium in January.
