“The be-suited, tie-topped symbols of surrogation to the colonialist oppressive setting and agenda which was on display at the   ’meeting’ on Tuesday 27 July 2004, reminded also of the ‘hope’ that every professional, careerist racist violator would cherish and nurture in their chest.

That of seeming to be ‘concerned. That of seeming to care. When in fact taking part in preventing the community from fending off the attacks, planned and imminent.

The ‘stage’ set up to facilitate the presentation delivery of a colonialist symbol of ‘acceptable face of expertise was a stage that would serve the purpose of preventing the ‘trouble-makes’, the ‘native agitators’ who might, just might, spring to action and articulate opposition to the scheme.

That would not be permissible, not in a dozen years , not when the funded surrogates and ethnic token users, ‘manger’s, little ‘bosses’ had set their ‘sights’ on allowing a platform to the ‘duly elected representatives and parliamentary personalities’ !

Thus it was that the whole charade was achieved by keeping the majority of the local community out of the ‘meeting’ place. What turned up as ‘local residents and tenants’ were left in the same state of knowledge about the Crossrail planned threat against the local community when they left the ‘Brady Centre’ as when they had got in there.

The only satisfied faces were the faces of the ‘controllers’ behind the event. Who were they ?

CROSSRAIL Plan for attacking the community in the Brick Lane, London E1 area was INVITED to be brought to the area ! This was done by the attackers using the mental slavery on the parts of the particular sets of operatives who are given cash ‘grants’ and other ‘facilities by the London Borough of Tower Hamlets Council...

How Tower Hamlets Council is openly FUNDING ‘community-based’ operatives who are engaged in routinely creating deprivation of the very community where each group of these operatives is based...

These operatives are to be found at stages of the ‘personnel’ involved in the mini-colonialism of the Brick lane London E1 area.

These operatives operate mostly in brad day light.

These operatives, many of them, even wear ‘suits’ !

These ‘suits’ and attached attire are paid for with cash that these operatives are handed IN THE NAME and AT THE EXPENSE of the local community in and around the Brick Lane, London E1 area.

Who are ‘the local community’ ?

All the people who are not paid participants in the obstruction, the denial and the deprivation of the local community in and around the Brick Lane London E1 area.

The anti-social operatives are paid by the state through the ‘local’ Tower Hamlets Council on tasks that are ‘apparently legitimised’   by the anti-social assignments being put on formal ‘official’ records by using formal, ‘legally-formatted’ documents and ‘contracts’ and validation instruments.

No-one in the local Brick Lane, London E1 area community who is not a paid member of one of the several anti-social criminalising, deprivation-adding, degeneration-creating anti-social projects has any access to the documents.

The ordinary community members have no ‘right’ either to demand to see what the terms of the various contracts, agreements in and on the ‘projects’ in the local community area are on paper.

It follows that the community has no manifest enforced right to demand to see whether the ‘projects’ are in fact delivering what they ‘might be said to be about’ on the actual papers and documents.

The lack of rights may no be quite the formal constitutional position if it is stated or interpreted by any paid professional apologist of the corrupt state.

Like an ‘expert’ who   ‘addressed !   ‘    the gathering of alleged tenants and alleged residents held at the Brady Centre (in Hanbury Street, off Brick Lane, London E1)   on Tuesday 27 July 2004 when the alleged gathering was allegedly got together to allegedly discuss the response of the alleged tenants and alleged residents to the planned Crossrail attack......

The ‘expert’ was a man who could not hope for a more edifying, gratifying set-up and stage whence to assert the latent ambition and hopes of any flesh and blood imperialist and colonialist !

The ‘expert’ was installed on stage to ‘address’ the gathering that had been so designed and anticipated and manipulated as to be mainly if not wholly of ‘an ethnic background’, such that at least a significant part of that gathering would be ‘additionally handicapped’ if they wee not ‘aided’ and ‘helped’ out of their own
linguistic, intellectual, cultural orientation, mooring and background !

And how to ‘aid’ and ‘help’ the alleged ‘ethnic’ tenants and residents ?

Why with the aid of a collection of morally empty, intellectually non-existent , politically vacant ethnic surrogates and mental slaves to every conceivable imperialist ‘role-model’ and ‘natural-born-leader’....... of course....

The Crossrail planned attack on the community in the Brick Lane E1 area is too flagrantly reminiscent of the apartheid policy in Apartheid South Africa... Crossrail planners’ links with some of the ‘local’ ‘experts’ and ‘spokespersons’ in ‘the Spitalfields’ area reek too much of a secret sleazy deal having been struck between ‘some’ of the ‘objectors’ and the perpetrators of the Crossrail planned attack on the community...

To understand how that apartheid attack plan as typified by the Crossrail plan is being operated, it is necessary to get the factual understanding of how the local Tower Hamlets Council has been abused and misused against the rights and entitlements of the local population in the East End. Including the people of the Brick Lane, E1 area.

Even as the then ‘controlling’ Liberal Democrats (whatever actual words were used for their then formally registered Party political name) were emptying their ‘ leadership councillors’ desks at the commercially owned and rented ‘ Tower Hamlets Town hall’ Mulberry Place following the defeat at the 1994 Council election, they knew one thing was still intact.

The ideology that had driven them to deny the people of the East End of an accessible ‘Town Hall’.

Two openly witnessed features of the previous ‘Town Hall’ situated off the Cambridge Heath Road in Bethnal Green were intensely disliked by the antidemocratic and pro-fascistic elements who made the key decisions for and in the then controlling Tower Hamlets Lib Dems stood out as being contributory factors behind their mugging of the people of the East End borough.

The physical location of the Bethnal Green town Hall in a part of the Borough where ordinary people, including elderly and out of work ones, could travel without much obstruction.

The frequency with which local people were taking demos and marches to that Town hall in protest against any number of anti-social decisions being made by the then Lib Dems in power [May 1986 - May 1994]

Some of those key demonstrations had direct implications for the Bangladeshis in London and elsewhere in the UK.

Such as the demonstrations that took place in 1987 , against the then

Tower hamlets council’s racist policy on housing and homelessness.

The anger in the local population against that policy was so widespread that it was possible for a significant part of a whole day for protesters to occupy the then Council chamber in a show of opposition.

Which occupation was peaceful. It was entirely democratic. And it got the point across.

But the Lib Dems were not willing to support the local community. They REACTED.

By taking a series of steps that were intended by Eric Flounders, one of the most reactionary and anti-social ‘Lib Dem’ councillors holding key powers in that group, and by his colleagues, to deny the local people the democratic say over what the local Tower hamlets Council did in the anti of local democracy.

One of the clearest steps was to deport the whole population away from Tower hamlets Town Hall.

Which is in effect what has happened.

And the deportation of the local community from its own Town hall has been maintained by the Blaired Councillors who took office following the May 1994 local council election.

It is ten full years and four months since the Tower Hamlets Council has been in the control of a group of councillors that is not officially Lib Dems.

Yet the policy of denying the local population the full and due access to the peoples’ local Town hall has continued.

So what is ‘different’ ?

There is no ideological difference between the two ‘parties’, the Lib Dems and the Blaired party.

What HAS BEEN INTRODUCED as a different face to the way the

anti-social, anti-people policies are implemented by and through the formal legal body of the London Borough of Tower Hamlets council is in significant parts made ‘community-based’.

By recruiting anti-social grouplet to be based at what in effect are now ‘neighbourhoods'’ obstruction centres.

These centres are in all intents and purposes owned by the   entity of the London Borough of Tower Hamlets Council.

If they are not strictly seen as being ‘owned’ as such then their control is exercised by the actual operation of the powers available to the LB TH Council.

The LBTH Council in effect makes the formal legal decisions as to who is ‘approved’ as ‘fit’ to use or have access to these centres.

One of the ways that the LBTH Council does this is by loyally following the policy of apartheid as had been tried and tested in South Africa.

Who gave Crossrail attacks planners the go-ahead to target Brick Lane area for the planned attacks and violations?

The answer lies in the vulnerability caused by deprivation in the main population in the Brick Lane area...

Who caused that vulnerability ?

How was that vulnerability ‘achieved’? Who operated and funded that vulnerability-creation ‘project’ ?

How Tower Hamlets Council is openly funding the further corruption of the so-called public amenities controlled via and at   the ‘community-based centres’ in SOME of the most populous parts of the East End borough of Tower Hamlets

The Brick Lane area is one of the most populous parts of the Tower Hamlets Borough.

This is so despite the relative size of the whole Borough population in comparison with some of the adjoining inner London Boroughs including Newham to the East, hackney to the North, the Boroughs of Camden and Islington to the North West and the Boroughs of Southwark and Greenwich to the South and across the other, the southern, side of the river Thames.

One of the main reasons for CBRUK’s decision in January 2004 to mount the current information and political campaign in defence of the community in the Brick Lane, London E1 area is the fact that the name Brick Lane is more than just the East London Street of the same name.

Brick Lane is a community like no other in London. Like no other in Britain. Like no other anywhere else.

At one end of this contemporary cultural and social reality is the fact that Brick Lane accommodates and houses some of the most representative small enterprises that make up the human constitution of what a hopefully multi-faceted, multidimensional pro-civilisation community can be. At the other end is the evidence, alive daily and at all hours, of the pits of desperation, deprivation into which some of the participants in the making of that reality are pushed .

“Who are these agents and what are these agencies operating in the Brick Lane, London E1 area that are being used by the Corporation of London and their ideological stable-mates to maintain the attacks on the East End and the people in and of the East End in September 2004?

The agents operating in the Brick Lane area are also linked with the agencies formally based in the same area. These agencies are however operating under strict orders linked with the cash grants that they are given.

The cash grants are not given to them secret. Although parts of the cash grants may be provided secretly. But a great deal of the cash grants are given by open reference.

Such as the one boastfully made public by Christine Gilbert the occupier of the expressly-cushioned post of chief executive of the London Borough of Tower Hamlets Council.

The boast in Christine Gilbert’s statement lay in the fact that she claimed that Tower Hamlets Council was funding, in July 2003, at least 1800 community groups !

She made the statement in the context of the then ‘topical’ issue of a set of ‘community based groups’ funded by Tower Hamlets council and by other agencies of the UK central Government. One of the main sites or locations of the operations of that grouplet, known as MATT, was at the ‘Montefiore Centre’. The ‘Montefiore Centre’ is no longer referred to as that in the ‘official’ propaganda statements issued either by Tower Hamlets Council or by any other state-linked outfit or their agents. The ‘Montefiore Centre’ is falsely referred to as the ‘Bethnal Green Technology Centre’. That false name was assigned to the Centre a decade or so earlier, when the Tower Hamlets Council was still being ‘controlled’ by the Liberal Democrats.

When the then ‘Labour’ party - completely Blaired since 1995 - took over ‘formal control’ of the Tower Hamlets Borough Council in May 1994, it was conceivable (as it was utterly desirable from the standpoint of the level; of needs in the community) that they the 'Labour' councillors on Tower Hamlets Council change the use and the access of the Montefiore Centre to one that was consistent with the needs of the local community.

They did nothing of the sort.

The result was that in the period between may 1994 to the summer of 2003, the
over-sold, over-designated ‘Bethnal Green Technology Centre’ became a
‘community-located’ arena for the perpetuation of the denial and deprivation against the local community...

The best way to defeat crass Crossrail plans against the people and communities in East London

Time to dispose of the anti-people GLA -    ‘Grotesque London-misleading Alibi’ !

Time to have gutsy campaigners in UK parliament who will stand up to Blair and cronies in regional parasite waste-houses and pass Bills defending the disenfranchised communities like those in the Brick Lane area

The ‘London Money’ which is often cited as being the property of the people of London must not be referred to only in bogus ‘debates’ at the expense of the people of cities in Scotland and in other parts of the UK. The ‘other parts’ include the zones and the people of Manchester who have been deprived of vital UK central Govt support by the Blair regime dishonouring its previous commitments given to Manchester and to similar other regions and the people in those regions.. That sort of corrupting game, which is played by the Blair Bureaucracy to violate peoples of the various regions and inner city areas must be made unlawful by a speedily; enacted Bill protecting the peoples’ rights. But is there an MP in all of the ‘elected MPs’ currently siring in the UK House of Commons who has the guts, the intellect or the understanding of the UK 'constitutional process' to do any such really genuinely parliamentary democratic thing and act ? Fat chance of this happening in the foreseeable future. in the UK. This is true of the remainder of time that Blair has as ‘the Prime Mover’ and this will be true of whoever gets to occupy No. Downing Street after Blair’s time their ends officially.

So how can the people in communities like those in the Brick Lane, London E1 area protect their vital interests and rights, as against the planned and actual daily attacks on them made by the existing ‘system’ of parliamentary ‘government’ centrally and by the parasite ‘system’ called ‘local government’ that is increasingly abused against the people as a whole in the given locality ?

What is the best avenue and the best way to protect the bread and butter rights and entitlements of people whose voice is denied at local ‘democratic forums’ like the London Borough of Tower Hamlets Council and suppressed in the Ghastly London-less Alibi   (GLA) that has been set up to accommodate the hugely insatiable ego of a very confused, emotionally unstable and insecure and opportunistic careerist now so wrongly but uncritically identified with ‘London and Londoners’ ?

New fare rise for ‘public transport’ in London raises the question - so who has been lying about Crossrail bringing about ‘regeneration’ in London, then ? How can that be when existing bus and train can’t be operated without raising fares ?

The latest announcement of the rise in tube and bus fares in London to be implementation by the London Mayor, is another confirmation of the truth that what the ‘London economy’ needs is NOT more railway lines but more efficient and accountable use of existing public transport infrastructure in London.

What is accountable ?

Like the buses being only driven by drivers who are sensitive to passengers and who actually respect the passengers.

With the recent introduction of the robotised buses (following ken Livingstone's anti-social annihilation of the people-friendly and socially accessible ROUTEMASTER buses) , ordinary bus-travelling London passengers have been encountering a new phenomenon that was never even noticed before in London. Being ignored by bus drivers who don’t seem to recognise either a visible signal for stopping the bus or even sometimes a compulsory bus stop sign.

Thousands of passengers suffer this Livingstone-Mayor-era ignominy every day in London . This is so if the passengers are mostly frail, vulnerable and otherwise de-recognised (if they are of Africa or Asian appearance) .

And this de-recognition seems to be part of the main outlook being taken by the ‘Mayoral regime’ by the Blaired Party ‘card-holder’ Ken Livingstone who no longer conceals his contempt for the inner cities people. Like the people who as individuals and families are engaged in daily struggle against corruption by the public bodies and their agencies and against the funded discrimination being practised by the ‘community centres’ which enjoy the approval and backing of the Blaired regime as it ‘runs’ the ‘centres’ in the Brick Lane and the Whitechapel areas of Tower Hamlets.

As has been shown by Livingstone’ show of defiance towards anyone who has had ‘the temerity to question him ‘ about the oppressive and anti-social Crossline shaft tunnel and other linked and lasting health hazards being planned to be caused to the people in the Brick Lane London E1 area.

One pertinent question that Livingstone-praising ‘ethnic-entrepreneurs’ currently operating in and around the Brick Lane area will have to address is this:           whose idea was it to arrange for an ‘ethnic leaders propaganda dinner date with Ken Livingstone’ just before Livingstone faced the 10 June 2004 election to the office of London Mayor again ? And who gave the ‘hosts’ any authority that the community in the Brick Lane area wanted Livingstone to be given that platform and allowed that stunt as a ‘friend of the Brick Lane London E1 area and the community’ ?

The crassness of intentions and objectives behind those who have been peddling the plan for a Crossrail line allegedly to link west London to east London, becomes exposed almost n a daily basis.

When I first described their intentions as crass I was mainly thinking of the abject disregard by them for the people in the Brick Lane and the rest of the E1 area who would suffer severe dislocations, disruptions if the planned Crossrail shaft tunnel through the Brick Lane area went ahead.

With an increasingly wider look that I have been taking at the history, the antecedents and the ‘progress’ (or lack of it) of the ‘whole’ London Crossrail (there appear to be other ‘'Crossrail'’ stunts being staged in other relatively large cities in the UK outside of London) project, I am finding incontrovertible evidence to justify the project being consigned to oblivion now, before it issued by the profit-seeking, money-grabbing

gangs of robbers of well-organised professional public resource and public money in the UK. I am thinking of construction companies, building firms and companies and s n.

My call for the scrapping of the whole Crossrail project is based on the analysis which has been vindicated by a series of recent and current UK ‘projects.’. The latest support to my analysis is contained in the evidence of the belated recognition of the practice in Britain of systematic corruption of public life by the various companies and their allies. As published today (Wednesday 15 September 2004) in Edinburgh, the Fraser inquiry into the overrun in the costs of the building of the ‘Scottish Parliament’ in Holyrood in Edinburgh.

In the report, Fraser accuses almost every single category of peddler that in the pre-Holyrood building period , was claiming all manner of wonderful things in support of the project for that building.

When the construction of the Holyrood Scottish parliament work was given the go-ahead, the cost was quoted as being a tenth f what it went on to become !

How can that be right ?

How can that be ‘accountable’ ?

How can that be democratic?

Especially so when the most serious internal social crisis threatening the lives and welfare of so many people in Britain is worth £40 Billion... It is the looming pension crisis. And the ramifications over the rest of the UK society can only be fearfully anticipated ...

There is therefore no justification for the demand by the Crossrail lobby that the UK central Government make up the multi£Billion shortfall so that the disastrous Crossrail project can get the go-ahead !

The Crossrail lobby, --- whose ‘local agents’ in and ON the Tower Hamlets Council have spent several thousand hours (of publicly-paid for time in and ON Tower Hamlets Council) between them in taking part in the confection of lines of lies so that they would peddle the Crossrail-linked lies to mislead the people of the East End of London -- never let on, until now, that even some of their own ‘major funding partners’ would balk at the size of the sums that those partners themselves would be ‘expected’ to ‘chip’ in for the crassly conceived parts of the project to be made ‘viable’.

where they further promise will be seen the big name

‘leader’ of our ‘metropolis this truly big greater London’

‘which big name leader will in fact answer any question

it is a truly public accessible open day and event

we are moved by the aura of ethicality ! The scent

of political transparency is all day wafting in the air

Come and join us and be in your fitting best attire’!

If these promoters of the big lie for famous politico

had honesty in them they would admit that the ego

as they rush around grabbing what they can !

When Tony Blair feigned to save us from ‘Ken’

Blair virtually used a slogan which Blair began

to mouth shortly after the go-ahead had been

given for there to be an ‘elected’ London Mayor

Blair brazenly bared his face saying ‘disaster’

at every stage managed opportunity to block

the ‘official nomination of Ken for Mayor’ ! Lock

stock and barrel of the by then Blaired Party

was placed under red alert to back Blair’s cry

that ‘Ken’ as mayor would in effect make us cry

with grief, disappointment, frustration and waste!

Little did Blair tell us of the ominous awful haste

which the people of London would be hit by

when Blair did a bare-faced turn and sit by

as he let the same ‘Ken’ as mayor get ‘re-voted’

for ‘Ken’ to smash up the weak who had revolted

against the Tories all those years ago in 1997

and now at this hard hour there is no one even

to notice that the alliance of evil the entente of sin

that Blair and ‘Ken’ have forged is more mean

than anything the weak, the vulnerable in London

had any reason to fear especially as based on

the utterances that Blair made as he faked

promises to rid the land of sleaze; Blair talked

incessantly of topics and items the people knew

were in need of being tackled. Blair also knew

as he faked and as he bluffed and as he smirked

that he had already recckied the spot and parked

the vehicle in which he would stage his own exit

as soon as he, Blair, had staged the makeshift

display of being accessible and sleaze-free

Never in all that time was there visible any debris

of so much ill-ambitions, so much ill-will to people

as a whole and to London’s people whose sole

political desire was to be left alone to get on

with what life otherwise had in store! No one

ever suspected Blair would not only let ‘Ken’ in

but he would let ‘Ken’ himself set in train

a scheme here and scam there to drain

the already deprived people of inner London

of what they had and push them to abandon

their hard earned homes, hard-built shops

and feel under pressure to forget the crops

of what for them was the yield of their ‘land’ !

Nobody ever thought they would see this band

of anti-social thuggery being got together

by Blair and “Ken” seeking to put asunder

so much hard work so many hopes of the denied

persons, families, children ! The pair in sin defied

all ethics morality and sense of fairness

as they embarked on lying about how to harness

the oppressor greedy profit-seeking ‘ruler’ boss

City of London Corporation and its lobby to toss

away centuries of oppressive habits and give up

what they most of all craved: a place to carve up

and exploit and rob from the legitimate community!

How gross of the duo to feign any affinity

with the inner city areas including Brick Lane

in and around which there does still remain

a most vibrant alive human community

that would perish without a life-keeping amenity

that is the essence of a true human community...”

How crass can the so-called Transport For London be !

Even TESCO is crying (!) ‘unfair’ against the Crossrail funding lunacy !

Amazing !

They don’t say a word abut the lunacy of uprooting people from their homes, their little shops and their community in the Brick Lane area !

The Tories’ ideological lobby the Social Market Foundation has confirmed that Transport for London asked the property companies, including the multinationals    “TESCO, Canary Wharf, FPD Savills and British Land” to raise funds by imposing a tax on “on the profits made on nearby property when railways are built - one method put forward by Transport for London to pay for projects like Crossrail. ”

The Social Market Foundation (SMF) has now produced a discussion of the issue in a pamphlet they promoted on 9 September 2004. Says the SMF that “TESCO, Canary Wharf, FPD Savills and British Land” “argue that it is impossible to judge whether property price rises are due to a new railway line or the normal property cycle. Taxing them, therefore, is arbitrary and unfair.”

How odd that some of the UK’s most powerful money-grabbing outfits fits themselves are complaining about unfairness about the proposal on raising funds for the Crossrail disaster yet none of the ‘local’ ‘expected’ ‘public representatives’ on Tower Hamlets Council has said a word in defence of the families and the people that stand to lose what small security of home, of family housing, of small shops and the community they now have in the affected parts of the Brick lane which will be destroyed if the Crossrail hole plan is allowed to go ahead !

Doesn’t it prove, one more time, that Brick Lane area has been ‘selected’ for the planned destruction because those who mace the decision to crush the community’s environment, what 'peace' and 'quiet' there is, what environmental standard there still is, thought that the people in the Brick Lane area are not ‘important enough’ and that the allegedly unimportant people can be treated in the oppressive way so long as the looters of the expected profit from the crassly conceived Crossrail project could get away with bagging the public funding from the UK Government for the whole unwise adventure !

It is now increasingly clear that the expectant ‘looters of the public cash and contracts and deals   off   the proposed Crossrail capitalistic bonanza for the big-companies’ are getting caught up in the twists of their own antisocial greed and desires !

How can the people who could put the now-exposed and rejected proposal to TESCO et al, be trusted to care at all about the Brick Lane area and the welfare of the people in the Brick Lane area ?

After all, Transport for London is an out and out opportunistic outfit that cares only for the careers of those who confected that outfit!

And these careerists would never even notice that peoples lives were undermined by their planned ramming of the crass railway line through the Brick Lane area...

Against all the facts so far analysed of the crassness of the Crossrail lobby, the sheer banality of their staging an increasingly desperate ‘insultation’ charade around the Brick Lane area has become too monumental a blot on the social landscape in the East End for it to be allowed to remain without detailed comments.

Crass talking Crossrail project lobby is rebuffed again by both the multinational corporations and by UK Transport Secretary Alistair Darling. Crossrail plot to make a treble gain at the expense of the East End people they push and keep in poverty ! The core contradiction of capitalistic ‘economics’ rears its utterly ugly head again.

In the week which the mentally servile and ethically bankrupt political journalists on the ‘mainstream’ British media organisations spent in sound-ly and visual-ly licking the various parts of the propaganda bodies of a variety of Tony Blair’s peddlers of poisonous gossip, confirmation came again that it is a very crass thing for any one to claim to ‘liberate’ the victims of their exploitation while at the same time seeking quite openly to mug them of all their pennies !

How can these so-called experts and so-called technically competent and knowledgeable persons who are kept in their various posts to promote the lies that the planned attack on the community via Crossrail will in fact be ‘a good thing’ for the same community expect anyone with any modicum of ordinary understanding take them seriously ?

Let alone believe what they say ?

Far less have any respect for their careerist lynx and lies ?

It is clear that even TESCO, which appears to know more about the trick of making vast profit by luring masses and masses of people in low income to shop in their stores and to buy stiff from TESCO’s other outfits , finds the Crossrail ‘case’ over-stated and over-sold and unconvincing.

Hence TESCO’s agreement with some other multinational profit-seeking outfits who have to Blair and Livingstone that the latter’s latest ploy to fill the multi£Billion funding gap for Crossrail is a non-starter !

Shows just how corrupt those crass- talking fiddlers of public funds have been when they have promised the East Enders the earth and boldly claimed that

the poverty, the deprivation, the social exclusion, the discrimination, the homelessness, the educational underachievement, the barriers, the obstructions that daily affect the lives of families and persons in and around areas like the Brick Lane area will evaporate and ‘nearest thing to heaven on earth’ will be ushered in the East End   for all the deprived and the disenfranchised and denied. How ? Just let the fiddlers dig in the East End and run this giant Crossrail project through here !

No case has been made in the mysterious meetings which the Tower hamlets Councillors ‘in the controlling’ Blaired Labour Group have been having for the best part of the past two years with a variety of Crossrail-peddling of characters who have been busy lobbying for the Crossrail project.

I have yet to receive or SEE a single answer to some of the crucial economic and constitutional questions which I addressed to those councillors and also published in the CBRUK campaign bulletin KHOODEELAAR in May 2004.

In   a addition to that, the Committee for Bangladeshis’ Rights in the UK (CBRUK) had also pressed Tower hamlets Council to tell the truth about what their role had been in allowing the anti-social plan by Crassrail to be rammed through the East End.

The Committee for Bangladeshis’ Rights in the UK (CBRUK) has told Christine Gilbert the Chief Executive of the London Borough of Tower Hamlets Council that that Council must end all clandestine links with the Crossrail and that in particular the Council mist tell the full facts to the local community of the Council's links with the Crossrail so far.

The demand to Christine Gilbert follows discovery of evidence by CBRUK that contrary to some of the casually made statements in the local area by a number of persons claiming to represent Tower Hamlets Council, the Council has been involved in a series of secret discussions with Crossrail.

In March 2004 CBRUK write to Gordon Brown the Chancellor of the Exchequer in March 2004 and pointed out to him some central absurdities inherent in the Crossrail project and plan.

“Gordon Brown the Chancellor of the Exchequer must reject Crossrail's plan to dig the damaging hole in the   Brick Lane area in the East End of London - CBRUK backs local demand. We write to put to you our own demand and the demand of the local people in the   Brick Lane area that you reject Crossrail's plan to dig the lethal and antisocial hole in the   Brick Lane area. .. Our view is that there is no economic let alone social justification for allowing Crossrail to inflict the harm on this most deprived part of inner London.

Crossrail's planned digging of the hole in the   Brick Lane area will severely disrupt lives, destroy livelihoods and deprive the already multiply ply deprived local community in the East End of London even further. We ask   Gordon Brown the Chancellor of the Exchequer to say NO to the Crossrail plan for digging the hole in the Brick Lane area.

We point out the fact that the contempt shown towards the people of the Brick Lane in the Crossrail plan is to be contrasted with the consideration Crossrail have shown to people or even empty lands in parts of London that Crossrail know to be either used by or owned by "prosperous' people.

s making the people in the   Brick Lane area more deprived and more destabilised the way forward for the inner cities under    Gordon Brown the Chancellor of the Exchequer’s ‘Vision’ ? Families in low income, struggling to make ends meet with the very limited sources of income, are going to be made destitute under the planned Crossrail hole in the   Brick Lane area. Small businesses, most of which are only viable because of the space they have been able to use in the area, face being annihilated and dug out of existence - literally. Is that the way to 'encourage ' enterprise by people with limited income but with confident sense of enterprise, Gordon? When you have accepted the 'expert's report on the need for expansion in housing provisions, as part of the economic future of the country, how can that programme sit easily with your possibly allowing the making of families and persons homeless and dislocated in the EAST END of London ?

SAY NO TO   Crossrail’s plan to dig a big hole in the   Brick Lane area. If they 'must' dig a big hole then let them dig it where the vulnerable and the deprived don't get affected...”

The planned Crossrail attack on the homes, lives, livelihoods, shops, businesses and the overall present health and future well-being of the people and the community in the Brick Lane area is an attack that is only possible to be carried out if the local Tower Hamlets Borough Council goes along with the planned attack.

All signs so far point to the local Tower Hamlets Borough Council being more than willing in going along with the planned Crossrail attack.

Not only that, the Tower Hamlets Borough Council has to date (8 September 2004) paid a large number of its sitting councillors for ‘attending to council business’ which ‘business’ has included the matter of the Crossrail ‘route’.

To date, neither the Council as a whole nor its present chief employee, Christine Gilbert, has made any information available to the community about what it is that the Council has been ‘discussion’ with the Crossrail lobby.

This is not unrelated to what is about to be confirmed in the near future following the definitely NOVEL (=new) sort of electoral outcome of the by-election scheduled to take place in a few hours on Thursday 9 September 2004 for the ‘Isle of Dogs’ Council ward of Millwall in the Tower Hamlets Borough Council.

What is likely to be confirmed by ‘official’ bureaucratic elements and conduct’ following and around the 9 September 2004 Millwall by-election is the fact - known to closely attentive observers over the past at least two decades - that the present Tower Hamlets Borough Council has been reduced to even lesser political substance by the Blaired elements who have been put in control of the Tower Hamlets Council than have been the cases with a large number of other INNER CITY local borough Councils across the UK.

Electoral laws do not permit any discussion of some core aspects of the evidence so close to ‘polling day’. I intend to deal with those on Friday or Saturday of this week (10 and 11 September 2004).

In the meantime, the hustings that HAVE taken place in the past 3 weeks in the actual Millwall Council ward, indicate one thing and this is that the members of the particular population who have been pushed into and kept in poverty there are UNLIKELY to feel confident about Tower Hamlets   Borough Council still being controlled by any Blaired or similarly ideologically mechanically oppressive and treacherous grouping of councillors after the next scheduled local Council election (set to take place in May 2006).

The impoverished people also suffer from poor level of recognition by employees of the Tower Hamlets Council.

And those employees include a large number of ‘officer’ ‘category’ post-holders !

That word ‘officer’ is so corrupting and protective of corrupt persons and activities that it must be replaced with a more accurate and less offensive term.

The East London Borough of Tower Hamlets Council’s ‘officer’ employees are currently being paid at public expense - and at the expense of the more deprived part of the Borough's population that also contains he larger parts of the Seelotee community in Tower Hamlets - to actually break up the structure of services and facilities that belonged to the people and to the Council in the past.

These ‘officer’-employees are in fact being used as the agents who make up gangs of ‘white-collar’ handy-persons serving the purposes and working to the de facto orders and agendas of organised, capitalist thieves and anti-social robbers against the local communities in the East End.

These ‘Council’ ‘officers’ are engaged in handing over those resources that are most needed by the most needy and the most disadvantaged persons and families in Tower Hamlets.

It is that category which contains the largest number of Bangladeshis.

Just as it does in the Brick lane area where the Crossrail planned attack is being facilitated and lobbied for by the controlling Blare Group of Labour Councillors on tower Hamlets Council.

The single largest chunk of the property of the Council that is of the people of Tower Hamlets had been the Council’s HOUSING Stock.

That stock is being robbed from the people.

And the robbery is taking place with the Tower Hamlets Council acting as the main aider and abetter and the facilitator.

Before the act. During the act and after the act.

So what is planned by Crossrail against the Brick Lane area and community is neither ‘unique’ nor surprising, given that the entirety of the current plasticised

political agenda being mechanically ratified by the Tower Hamlets Borough Council.

The key instrument the Tower Hamlets Council is using is what sued to be called local control over ‘development’ planning.

At robotic formal meetings and other bureaucratised procedural events held in the largely un-public ‘public setting’ of the Mulberry Place in the really remote and inaccessible (for the utter majority of the people from ALL parts of what is still the Borough of Tower Hamlets) location which could only have been designed and sited with the object of creating a physical barrier between that location and any ordinary member of the ordinary population in the inner city Borough.

When it comes to the theoretical and the hypothetical question of all ‘electors being equal under the law’     in so far as their entitlement is concerned to make a choice at polling day between candidates seeking their vote, the poorer the economic and the consequent social condition of an elector, the less likely are they to be really significantly electorally active.

This is true of the Millwall ward as it is of the Brick Lane area.

And therein lies a secret about a weapon of theft that the Blaired gangs have been using against the very people.

The Blaired gangs have been peddling the antidemocratic, untrue and the plainly poisonous   lie that bringing Crossrail to be run and tunnelled over the Brick Lane area and the relevant remainder of the   East End of London would create ‘regeneration’.

What do they mean by that word ‘regeneration’ ?

It is a word that has no meaning.

Except a meaning of and in DEGENERATION.

That is why I had devised the analytical substitute   DEGENERATION all those years ago.

The conceptual contradictions in the word ‘regeneration’ were forced into focus at least in my observation by the misdeeds that were being brazenly got upto and foisted on the inner cities across the UK by the unlamented Margaret Hilda Roberts (Thatcher)

When Margaret Hilda made that creepy stride up those shaking stairs in what used to be the ‘Conservative Central Office’ (now more aptly referable to as the COMPLETELY COLLAPSING Organisation) closely followed by her Dracula-Guard (Norman Tebbit) putting on his grotesquely smug face of hatred, she must have known that she was going to make a most injuriously hurtful statement to mock and ridicule the most suffocated of the ms of her violations already heaped on thousands of poor people and deprived families across the inner cities.

She said that she was going to sort out those ‘inner cites’ !

And God did she try !

She soon unleashed the poll tax on the people.....

Just as Margaret Hilda ‘sorted out’ those ‘inner cities’ so has her ideological successor Tony Blair. And the horrors that Blair has unleashed against communities like the one in the Brick Lane area are not at all confined to just the threatened Crossrail tunnel and environmental nightmare posed by the Crossrail plan.

As all the LATEST and published indices of the UK Government’s own statistical units and surveys   confirm, the Brick Lane are has a community that is, has been and is likely in the foreseeable future to remain one of the most economically, socially deprived parts of the UK population

This is a serious and worrying situation for the whole of the deprived peoples. And it applies to the Bangladeshis just as much as it does to the non-Bangladeshi recipients of the economic and social deprivation in the Brick Lane area and in the rest of the Borough of Tower Hamlets.

How then is it that no less a reactionary and oppressive instrument of British discrimination, disparity and bias and racism than the Confederation of British Industries (CBI) had its big propaganda event staged on Tuesday 7 September 2004   by abusing the Bangladeshi identity of the present Mulberry School in the E1 area ?

What was the CBI ‘celebrating’ in the E1 area and since when had the CBI become real ‘pals’ and ‘friends and 'business partners' and 'Industry partners' ’ of so many ‘families’ of so universally recognised and quoted poverty stricken children and girls ?

How accurate a pre-view of what Crossrail is plotting against the Brick Lane area was the CBI’s prancing on the back of the Mulberry School on Tuesday 7 September 2004 ?

Time to stop the degenerating lies against the people of the East End of London . Even the conservative ‘Tribune’ backs those who question the hype about Crossrail and about the Olympic bid ‘2012’ !

When even the disturbingly un-radical UK political title Tribune (which is wrongly described in Britain as a left wing publication in British politics) starts to express reservations about the over-blown over-hyped London Olympic bid 2012 and the routinely propaganda-linked Crossrail project then it would wise indeed for the peddlers of the lies about regeneration in the East End to stop uttering any more lies.

Tribune has joined - belated, in my view - the small band of relatively better informed commentators of the ‘London political scene’ who are accurately warning the Blair administration against the irresponsible and false promotion of the twin wasters of public resources, the Olympic Bid 2012 and the Crossrail (Cross London railway) project.

I shall go into some details about those NEW warnings on this site to be published on Thursday 9 September 2004.

It is worth saying in advance of   my particular longer review (due to appear here on 9 September 2004) that whatever the one-time Olympic medal winner Sebastian Coe has been scripted to utter about either the Olympic Bid or about the alleged ‘benefits to East London’ that would flow from a ‘successful London Bid to host the 2012 Olympic in this city’ can only have been put into his propaganda mouth by those who have not the knowledge of what the East End is like economically.

Or socially and environmentally .

Or what it has been like for decades.

Or why the East End of London UK has been the way it has been socially, economically and environmentally for so long despite periodic utterances of idiotic patronising lies by sets and successions of careerists over decades - or have no resource for the ordinary people who are engaged in daily struggle in the East End against the products, symbols and consequences of the agenda of lies and lying that control the accesses and the freedoms of the vast majority of the people of London’s East End.

CBRUK mass signature campaign against Crossrail plan starts

Among those who have already signed the CBRUK petition against the Crossrail planned attack are active members of the East London Youth Organisation, small business owners in the Hanbury Street, members of the housing m education and anti-discrimination campaigns of the past two decades in the East London borough of Tower Hamlets.

The CBRUK mass signature campaign supporting a formal petition to be submitted to the UK Parliament was launched in the Hanbury Street in the evening of Wednesday 1 September 2004.

The texts below are being currently supported in the signature campaign. Other materials are set o be distributed in the immediate area which is affected by the planned Crossrail attacks.

Why does JOHN Biggs utter lies for deprivation?

‘East London’ ‘GLA’ man    JOHN Biggs must stop talking lies that make deprivation sound like an adorable pet ! or is Biggs talking crassly of deprivation as if Biggs NEEDS there to be a deprived condition so he can make periodic mileage out of the suffering of the people kept in and pushed into deprivation?

The Greater London Assembly is another wasteful, undemocratic, anti-social imposition on the people of London who neither asked for it nor have derived any measurable social benefit from its existence. The losses are massive. The GLA is in a building that was not necessary.

The GLA edifice was built at huge cost to the people of London and for the petty careerist strategic reasons that had more to do with the career plans of Tony Blair et al than to do with any real issues of overcoming the long-standing denial, hardship, deprivation that hundreds of thousands of London families, persons suffer and endure every day.

Nowhere more so than in the East End of London.

This part of London where Brick Lane is, is formally ‘represented’ on the GLA by this very unrepresenting and UNREPRESENTATIVE ‘member’ called JOHN Biggs.

In fact, the record of John Biggs so far speaks volumes to justify the observation that John Biggs was never politically capable of representing the East End of London on any publicly paid-for and publicly-maintained forum.

Neither when he was being paid as a councillor on Tower Hamlets Council nor in his current paid post as GLA member for Tower Hamlets area.

Biggs has NO RECORD OF EVER IN THE ENTIRETY OF HIS CAREER AS PUBLICLY PAID LOCAL COUNCIL (and GLA) ‘politician’ (!!!!) made a single intervention on behalf of the people on any issue that affects the people as opposed to issues that have been of ‘relevance to and of interest to’ the plans and options and objectives of identifiable and implied bureaucrats and collections of vested interests concerned.

He has sought to disguise those occasions when he has ‘played his part’ in voting or speaking on a topic as being ‘beneficial to the local community’ whereas the truth of his ‘interest’, his loyalty and his affiliation has been, without exception, linked with his career, his career plan and his need to remain in publicly paid career no matter how wrong he has been and how unfit his political role has been in the context of the vast and widening gap of economic, social, gap and deprivation in the East End.

In fact, Biggs has been party to the propaganda campaigns in support of creating new types and methods of deprivation. His language gives the game away as to who Biggs has been serving.

Biggs has not been serving the ‘electors’ of any part of inner city Tower Hamlets. He has been supporting the interest of BIG Business.

What an irony there !

Biggs has used the tell-tale word ‘challenge’ in relation to what the Big Business think of the people in the eats who are going to be made even more deprived than is the case already.

Biggs as a paid member on the GLA is now playing a key role   in the Big Business plan to bring more deprivation to the Brick Lane area by lobbying for Crossrail.

In one of the plastic and crassly-composed publicly shorts for the Crossrail plan in violation of the people and the community in the Brick lane area, Biggs lends his name to the following (which I saw at 1030 Hrs GMT today Thursday 2 September 2004)

“Crossrail’s interchange with the East London Line will give easy transport access from our most deprived areas to the most dynamic business districts.”

1.   What DOES Biggs mean by ‘our most deprived areas’ ?

2.   Who has Biggs got with him involved in the maintenance and in the marking as their political property of these ‘our most deprived ‘ areas ?

3.   Why does Biggs not stay totally quiet instead of uttering such poisonous outrage against the affected people in the East End that make whatever pretence he may think he is making about representing the needs, rights and entitlements of the people in the electoral constituency which he daily abuses, fails, misrepresents and mis-describes by being in office as a GLA member about ?

4.   Will Biggs have the moral courage to actually identify or name or describe adequately, truthfully and honestly   who these implied others WITH HIM are (that make up the ‘our most deprived areas’ reference and ) who consider, as he has exhibited he considers it to be a positive thing to have deprivation in the East End of London ?

5.   Are these    JOHN Biggs-our deprived areas in existence because of the role played by    JOHN Biggs in keeping these areas deprived ?

6.   What does Biggs know of what ‘deprived areas’ do to the people who have to live in the deprivation?

7.   Does Biggs care to find out ?

8.   If so, what has he done to find out what deprivation does to people who are ‘encouraged’ by the likes of him to ‘be happy to be in deprived conditions/’?

9.   When was the last time that Biggs thought about society and other than about the brazenly irresponsible career that he has been feathering for the past 20 years or so in ‘local politics’?

10.Why does Biggs think that it is okay to deny people in East London what home they have, what security they have, what future they have ?

The Committee for Bangladeshis’ Rights in the UK (CBRUK) this week agreed the contents of the petition that is going to be submitted to the UK Parliament in advance of the hybrid parliamentary Bill which Transport Secretary Alistair darling stated in July would be presented to Parliament

The hybrid Bill must not be allowed to g through the UK Parliament without that formal legislative body being made fully and adequately ware of the destruction the Crossrail plan would cause to one of the most deprived communities in all of the UK.

The CBRUK petition is phrased in the context of all relevant events that have taken place in the months since I attended a semi-public meeting held at the ‘Montefiore Centre’ in the corner of Hanbury and Deal Streets in January 2004 when I first put the argument in public for the politicisation of the campaign against the Crossrail plan. I again reinforced the arguments for political opposition to the Crossrail plan when I spoke very briefly at the same building where another semi-public meeting took pace on 26 May 2004.

THE crassness of the Crassrail plan is again exposed by the dishonest plug given it by some on the UK ‘left’ whose only reason for ‘supporting’ the Crass-rail idea is these alleged UK ‘leftists’ alleged recollection of the alleged socialist role played by the former Greater London Council’s coup leader ken Livingstone.

Livingstone is now a ferociously defiant member of Tony Blair’s brigade. So confident is Livingstone in his calculation (and Livingstone is nothing if he is not calculating) about being able to continue to con the potential electors bothering to turn up at any foreseeable poll for the office of Mayor of London that he is blasé about his backing of the planned attack via Crossrail on the people of the East End of London.



Livingstone has not apologised for his remark a year or so ago that he backs Crassrail because that was the way to combine the City of London and Canary Wharf.

In that blasé but revealing statement uttered by Livingstone, the so-called Red ken came across as a very sad case of a very confused man who neither was red nor was a socialist but was a crafty careerists who only knew a few slogans that he would mouth whenever the occasion suited such utterance.

That he has committed a lethal violation of the rights of the entire population of low income East End London and has clued with succession of City of London and Capitalist scams and schemes to uproot the poor people and to rob them of their land and homes, is most clearly seen in the blatant bulldozer of lies that he is now driving with the help of the BBC and of all ‘newspapers’. the ‘once communist’ (!!!!) ‘daily’ Morning Star

The lies for the Crossrail lobby being perpetrated by at least one Tower Hamlets councillor must be accounted for and to the people of Tower Hamlets

Who in Tower Hamlets Council will own up to the confection of the lie about Crossrail plan ?

Who gave any Tower Hamlets Councillor the authority to use their position as Councillor as Tower Hamlets councillor to MAKE any representation in support of the Crossrail lobby ?

Who in that Council was authorised by what constitutional body representing the preferences of the people in the Borough to make what pro-active DEMAND FOR THE ALLOCATION OF UK CENTRAL GOVERNMENT FUNDS FOR THE Crossrail project?

Who gave ANY Current Tower Hamlets Councillor ANY even HINT that the people whose lives, livelihoods and stability, security community health would be disrupted destroyed and destabilised and people who would be made destitute if he panned Crossrail route went through the Brick Lane area would approval of ANY Tower Hamlets councillor pretending to represent those people and the community when the councillor concerned made the false representation on record and took part in a totally corrupt bureaucratic display suggesting that the Crossrail project was at all anywhere on the agenda of the utter, the vast, the overwhelming majority of the people in the ordinary population and among the electorate in the LB Tower Hamlets ?

Further confirmation of the justness of the CBRUK campaign in defence of the Brick Lane area against the Crossrail plan of attack on the Brick Lane area community

Crass claim of ‘regeneration’ by ‘Crossrail’ in the East End of London dealt another serious blow - by the facts of the Greek LOSSES to the tunes of £billions and the denunciation by ordinary Greek folk of the extravagant waste in the pursuit of empty glory.

Do ordinary East Enders want to pay for a bunch of self-seekers having a good time in Brussels at the expense of poverty stricken families in the East End ?

The ‘surprise’ demonstration by an admittedly small number of individuals outside the so-called London City hall on Tuesday 24 August 2004 denouncing the propaganda line for a London bid for the 2012 Olympic Games confirms once against that any one with any sense of economic common sense abut the macro economy is bound to balk at the hype attaching to that over-rated 2012 Olympic Games bid for London .

The fact that Tuesday’s ‘demo’ was treated more as a stunt by the Blair-promoting BBC does not meant at all that the opposition that is now beginning to be openly shown against the grotesque bid has more sense than is admitted by the self-seeking. ignorant and immature   2012 London bid brigade being kept in ‘jobs’ at public expense.

The cost of hosting the Olympic Games are excessive. Just like the Greeks are finding out to their cost, literally. And as a minor report shown on BBC TV outfit (contrary to the Blaired diktat now effectively ruling over the BBC news and editorial agenda generally ) on Tuesday 24 August 2004, confirmed, most ordinary Greek are not only unimpressed by the Greek Olympic lobby’s outlandish claims of achievement, they are positively hostile to any , even the most minor, suggestion that the Greek hosting of the 2004 Games has brought any economic or other tangible or lasting or measurable gains for the Greek people.

the lesson is most apt and it must be applied to the London brigade.

London’s communities such as the East End community, who are being lied to and lied about by the 2012 bid brigade, must stand up and speak up now. before it is to late.

That is the right way to undermine the corrupt argument being crassly promoted for the ramming of a Crossrail line that includes the planned destruction of substantial parts of the Brick lane and the rest of the London E1 area.

Why I am writing epic poem KHOODEELAAR (28) in defence of the Brick Lane area and against the Crossrail plan

I wrote this part of my epic poem KHOODEELAAR about the degeneration of London

on 31 January 2004.

This was literally within minutes after attending the first ‘community’ meeting in the Brick Lane area held against the proposed Crossrail violations of the area.

I wrote this part by combining the thoughts and feelings of the whole community as   felt by the narrator and interrogator whom I poetically imagined was either a very neglected Bangladeshi local person in the Brick Lane area in London’s East End Borough of Tower Hamlets.

I imagined him to be heading a sizeable family of demanding members whose basic needs were already left unmet, whose physical image in the neighbourhood was already undermined by a plethora bread and butter problems, who was nowhere near treated with the dignity that he deserved, whose freedom of movement in his own neighbourhood was restricted by the problems caused directly by the local Tower Hamlets council, whose dreams and hopes were daily shattered by the lack of recognition by the agencies set up and kept in continuous funding by the local authority as well as by the UK central Government.........The narrator was also a non-Bangladeshi, multi-ethnic member of the Brick Lane community of people with other backgrounds, of culture, language and thoughts. And hopes.

At the meeting on 31 January 2004, it was clear from the various factual presentations regarding the particular Crossrail plan (against the Brick lane area community) and the destructive effects of the plan on the Brick Lane area, that the key decisions for the attacks had been made by persons who had no respect for the rights of the people in the Brick Lane area. My view as put to that first meeting against the plans attacking the Brick Lane area community was that the only way we could stop the implementation of the plans and the only way we could fend off the Crossrail violations was to make the defence of the community a political issue.

Political in a way that would compel the decision-makers to stop the crassness

that was the Crossrail plan over the Brick Lane area.

Political in a way that would take into account what even the official records of the proceedings of the UK House of Commons (the so-called lower House of the UK legislature) ‘recognised’ was one of the most deprived areas in all of the UK.

Part of my lines written on 31 January 2004 read as follows:

You make me so cross

Crossrail

You are set to ruin

this small part

of this big earth

and for what?

Why do you have to come here

and threaten me with the violence

of digging holes in my small little

neighbourhood ?

Why do you have to do the unusual here

while you can do all the big business

THE CBRUK CAMPAIGN IN DEFENCE OF THE BRICK LANE AREA AGAINST THE PLANNED CROSSRAIL HOLE AND OTHER ATTACKS ON THE COMMUNITY IN THE BRICK LANE, WHITECHAPEL, VALLANCE ROAD, STEPNEY AREA OF THE EAST LONDON BOROUGH OF TOWER HAMLETS

Tower Hamlets Council has in effect become a conveyor belt for the transfer of the occupation army of the capitalists of the City of London on to what vacant land there is still available in the Borough of Tower Hamlets.

This movement is taking place every working day of the week. And sometimes during the weekends.

The controlling decision-making bureaucrats in the Council are experiencing undisguised glee (Wednesday 18 August 2004) at the fact that their work for the globalisers now taking over the Isle of Dogs is made even easier by the removal of the objections to the next high tower that is being built on the isle.

This is in the same week that also saw the announcement of the offensive ‘need’ by the construction conglomerates for the availability of ‘teenagers’ in strategic inner city areas like the East End Borough of Tower Hamlets to be exploited in the construction industry.

That announcement is supposed to be encouraging what they mis-describes as regeneration.

The idea is that ‘teenagers’ in the East End of London should be rushing to work in the construction trade.

This is a presumption that is multiply presumptuous and racist.

The school-leavers they offensively describe as ‘teenagers’ are mostly leaving schools without the necessary skills of education. They are not being educated in the East end schools to the level that they deserve to be. Or to the level they need to be. If they are to deserve proper jobs with proper returns.

And there is the real gap. And that is created by the corrupt Tower Hamlets Council.

The details must be examined so that the fact and the extents of the abuse by Tower Hamlets council of their ‘powers’ and the failures by the council to represent the community in the Borough can be actually seen.

I have already shown that Tower Hamlets Councillors had been having clandestine (secret) meetings, starting at least in the summer of 2002 with self-seeking careerists getting paid public money in the name of the ‘Crossrail’ project.

Neither the councillors themselves nor Christine Gilbert the ‘chief executive’’ employed in the LBTH Council, said a single word to the local community about who the councillors were meeting and what evidence the meetings examined, if any, that showed to any reasonable level any sign that the people in the Brick lane area and in the rest of the populated parts of the Borough would gain from any further expansion of the City of London Corporation and its agencies into the land and the neighbourhoods and the environment of Tower hamlets.

My questions put a year ago to Tower Hamlets Council included these:-

I. What evidence can you cite - which can be independently checked and verified - to support any claim that Tower Hamlets Council is currently meeting the needs of the whole community in the borough with particular reference to culture, religion, language to the standard expected by all those whose relevant experience in the given field and sphere covered in this question tells them what the level of their needs are and what the level of the respective item of delivery in each should be?

2. What is the actual current total sum in the current financial year that is earmarked and directed to the meeting of the above?

3. What level of audit does Tower Hamlets council conduct - if it at all conducts any audit of the description and implication represented here - on a weekly basis to ensure that the claims the Council has made about meeting the needs (see the last 20 applications for external funding and equivalent support submitted to UK central Government and the European Social Fund agencies) are in fact treated as serious ones by the Council in its key and central decisions?

4. What is the average number of ordinary working days, starting from I (on a scale of I to 30, each unit signifying a day as is ordinarily understood), that it takes the Tower Hamlets Council to deal with the full extent of complaints alleging incompetence, negligence prejudice and violations of one or more aspects of the legal duties that the staff are under? Is it mostly within 30 or beyond 30? If it is under 30, how many such cases have you had knowledge of in the past 20 months and what would you say about the level of satisfaction (on a scale of I to 100) of the ordinary electors or ordinary members in the Tower Hamlets population who initiated or brought a complaint? If it is beyond 30 days, why is that and how many such cases have you had knowledge of in the same period? What does that say about what your answer is to question 1. above?

5. Whose decision was it and with what implication for the image of the present Council, that the present chief executive should have read the statement that she did read to what had been advertised as the inauguration of the new Council on 21 May 2003? Why was that meeting given to so many detailed descriptions of who went on what external outfit? Why was no equivalent discussion or description of A Council posts a held? To most observers, including myself, that showed a deliberate misuse of the time and opportunity which the Council had at its disposal. Why should that kind of conduct be expected by anyone on the present Council to be excused by the electorate and the community?

6. What is the main qualification for the 'adviser' to the chief executive in the context of the evidence of dissatisfaction on the ground that people feel towards the Tower Hamlets council? What does the Council's allowing the creation of that post say about the level of representation of the preferences of the Borough's peoples by Councillors who are elected by the legally approved process? How is the Chief executive held to account to the Borough?

When was the last time that you carried out such an audit of the chief officers?"

The announcement from Athens this week that the ordinary people of London would have to pay at least another £10 million during the next year so that Ken Livingstone can create some spurious jobs to be held by a new bureaucracy to lobby for the London bid to host the 2012 Olympic games in London, shows how undemocratic the office and the powers of the London Mayor are.

There is no accountability to the so-called voters (because the vast majority of those eligible to vote, including myself, stayed off the polling stations on 10 June 2004 because there was not one candidate that actually measured up to the basic standards) , who are treated with total contempt by the so-called Greater
London Assembly   (GLA) that is in fact made up of a collection of the most inane ‘characters’ who have shown neither coverage nor understanding in standing up for ordinary people in London.

And nowhere is that situation starker than in the Brick lane area.

CBRUK Live Into the 16h year of political action for Bangladeshis'’ human rights in the UK CBRUK’s campaigning year starts with new phase of demands for an end to the Crossrail hole planned for the Brick lane area.

Today sees the art of the 16th year of the campaigning life of the Committee for Bangladeshis’ Rights in the UK.

That the Bangladeshi community in the UK is in increasing need of campaigning for its collective human rights is clear from the fact that our Central executive Council has this saturday (31 July 2004) decided to embark on the next phase of the current campaign in defence of the Brick lane area.

On Monday 2 August 2004, CBRUK is issuing detailed statement on the economic and social implications against the community of the planned Cross-rail tunnel and hole in the Brick Lane area of London.

It was on 9 July 1989 in the Flower and Dean Walk off Brick Lane that the family of Mr Esmoth Ali and Mr Watir Ali   was brutally attacked. It resulted in the deaths of both Mr Alis.

The name ‘Brick Lane’ has been synonymously with the Bangladeshi community’s presence in the London and the UK population for the past at least 50 years.

And the events of July 1989 following the murderous attacks on the Mr Alis have been brought back into active focus now by the planned attack by Crossrail on the community.

In the CBRUK campaign in defence of the Bangladeshi community and of the community of white and other cultural and nationality and non-Bangladeshi ordinary people in the Brick lane area, the leading and the defining advocacy and case has been made by CBRUK in the past five months. I shall be publishing the documentary evidence and live texts of the particular current campaign so far in this series in the next few weeks and months.

Here are some extracts from the documents that I have written in the pats 5 months against the Crossrail plan for an underground hole and a tunnel in the Brick lane area:-

CBRUK LIVE into 16th year

The Campaign against the planned Crossrail hole and tunnel in the Brick Lane are is being conducted in Sylhetti and in English. The Sylhetti word KHOODEELAAR has caught the imagination of the community in a spectacular way. There has been such a demand from non-Sylhetti speaking supporters of the campaign against the Crossrail plan speakers for an explanation or translation or interpretation of the word that I recently pub;published the following

I devised this one-word title for the CBRUK CAMPAIGN IN DEFENCE OF THE BRICK LANE AREA as the most communicative Sylhetti language cry against the Crossrail plan for a hole lot of attacks ! Ever since I became convinced that the Brick Lane area was being targeted for a new series of assaults typified by the planned Crossrail hole, I looked in the archives of Sylhetti language and history and Khoodeelaar volunteered itself as the most suitable conveyor of my community’s opposition to the attacks.

So in February 2004 I decided to include it as the banner in this latest CBRUK campaign in defence of a vital part of the Bangladeshi community in the UK.

The word ‘Khudilaar’ is impossible to translate into a single English word in current use or any English word that in my knowledge has ever been in use. KHOODEELAAR bursts with a message of multiple defiance
against the invader of the home. It says that someone [ or a group or an agent has intruded into our home area and ] is doing an illegitimate, undoubtedly harmful digging in the backyard !   Or that they are doing something awful right in front of us.

The digger , the tunneller, is unwanted, uninvited and unfriendly. That the digger is doing the digging or the tunnelling or both, without our consent and despite our objections ! Too close to home for comfort! That the digger doesn’t care about us, the people, the community .... ! The nearest contemporary expression (July 2004) that KHOODEELAAR can be related to in the (British) English language is to say that a ‘dirty digger’ (........) is doing their dirty digging and vandalising in our backyard and unless we hurry and do something about it, he (or ‘they’) will do irreparable damage to our homes, and to our lives...”
