Boris Johnson has denied claims that he threatened not to stand again as London's Mayor in a bitter row with the Treasury over spending cuts.
The former Conservative MP was reported to fear he would fail to be re-elected in 2012 because of government plans to cut funding for his key transport projects including Crossrail.
The Sunday Times reported Mr Johnson would attempt to return to Parliament after leaving his post – causing a potential headache for David Cameron with whom he has had a difficult relationship.
But his spokeswoman said: "The Mayor has made it clear that he will decide his future at a time when he can assess his success as Mayor. He is mulling over that decision this summer." A source close to Mr Johnson added that he was not threatening to resign and was expecting a "good" settlement for London.
The dispute is understood to centre on the £16bn Crossrail project, scheduled to open in 2017, which could, acccording to the report in The Sunday Times, be slashed by £800m if a proposed 5 per cent budget cut goes ahead. Mr Johnson may also lose money for Tube network improvements, which would have been popular with voters.
An anonymous source told the newspaper: "We will die in a ditch for Crossrail and the Tube improvements. These upgrades are hanging in the balance and if Boris doesn't get the money he needs, they won't happen."
The threat of cuts to Mr Johnson's schemes will boost the position of former mayor Ken Livingstone, who plans to run again in the next election.
The source said: "We have already had to put fares up and that is Ken's primary line of attack. Boris will find it difficult to get re-elected."
In June, Mr Johnson allegedly called off a planned announcement about his intention to run again because of a tense dispute with the Government over his share of central government funds.

This is so far from the ‘campaigning atmosphere’ that some of the then candidates for election as ordinary councillors to Tower Hamlets Council had seen in the days before the 4 May 2006 local council elections.
One such candidate was Abjol Miah. He was a councillor for four years. He is not one right now.

The newly elected Opposition leader on tower Hamlets Council Abjol Miah has today confirmed his support to the Khoodeelaar! Campaign against CrossRail hole policies of Tower Hamlets Council
This is the first indication since the RESPECT party won the highest number of seats on the East End Tower Hamlets Council and the statement today issued to Khoodeelaar organiser Muhammad haque by the leader of the Opposition Abjol Miah points the way towards putting new pressures on the controlling group to end its lying for CrossRail hole attacks on the community.
Abjol Miah had already committed himself to supporting the Khoodeelaar! Movement against CrossRail when he spoke in the last hours of polling in Shadwell ward on 4 May 2006. He said that if he and his RESPECT group of candidates at the Council elections got elected then they would take the lead from the community organisations with records of resistance to oppressive polices. He particularly pledged that he would be following the Khoodeelaar! Campaign as far as opposing the Crossrail hoel Bill was concerned.

The Crossrail-hole-backing Tower Hamlets Council stages sham TV prog
The pro Crossrail hole-controlling clique on the East London borough of Tower Hamlets Council instigated another stooge TV show on a satellite channel on Friday 2 June 2006.
The cover was that they were ‘following up’ alleged election promise given about Crossrail plan before the 4 May 2006 local elections
Khoodeelaar! rejected the TV station’s repeated requests to participate in the programme. The grounds have been spelt out in the detailed analyses and reasoning submitted to OFCOM against the channel.
Those will be included in the first Khoodeelaaronline report about the stooge corrupting programme later on during Saturday 3 June 2006.
The truth is that Tower Hamlets Council’s over-hyped petition on Crossrail is due to be ‘presented’ before the Crossrail Bill select committee in the UK House of Commons in a formal manner during this coming week and the controlling clique on the CrossRail hole –inviting Council are again out to set themselves up as a ‘concerned’ public body in the area ’concerned’ about the Brick Lane area.
This stooge TV programme timing and broadcast is also linked with the fact that anytime now, a by-election or a series of those, in Tower Hamlets Council wards is or are likely to be announced. The by-elections will be held in a number of wards due to electoral irregularities dissevered around the 4 May 2006 elections.
And the one member majority controlling Blaring group is very keen to make sure that they don’t lose control on the Council as a result of the by-election/s .

When the Blairing Tower Hamlets [‘most deprived borough’ East End of London] ‘councillors’ contacted the British TV crews in January 2006 with promises of unheard-of tales about George Galloway’s alleged extinction as a political entity and posed gleefully for pictures, they did so because they reckoned that the Crossrail Bill had given them an undreamt of opportunity to do down the man that had so spectacularly taken the seat vacated by a reluctant Oona King on 5 May 2005.. They then over-reached themselves and overdosed on the Crossrail link to George Galloway’s ‘absence’ [as a ‘guest’ of Endem-All, the Channel 4 contract company which controls and trades on Celebrity notoriety in the UK]. No-one posed and fabricated around the issue more earnestly than one Michael Keith, sometime ‘academic’ at a south of the river Thames location and overtime fanatic basher of every conceivable image of George Galloway. And of Winnie Mandela! Michael Keith has confected chains and chains of untenable tales at the expense of every single known campaigner against then ideology of empire, of corruption in public office and above all of apartheid. No wonder that arch apartheidist the Murdoch-paid Matthew Parris was the first of a line of warmongers who went on record to demand that those who had voted for George Galloway on 5 May 2005 be punished by the Blair regime. Parris penned his poisonous passage and said that the Crossrail hole plan should driven right through Brick Lane. His ‘reasons’? He said that voters in the Brick Lane London E1 area had voted for Galloway! And that, as far as Matthew Parries was concerned, ground and justification enough to effectively destroy the Brick Lane London E1 area community and sink it in the Crossrail hole. Ironic that it is Michael Keith who is being accused of bringing the Crossrail hole problems on to the Tower Hamlets community. And the accusations are coming from councillors who belong to both Labour Party and the Lib Dem opposition!
George Galloway to join Khoodeelaar demonstration against Tower Hamlets Council on Crossrail hole Bill on Wednesday 1 March
He will be joined by Tower Hamlets Liberal Democrats councillors as well as the Respect coalition’s announced candidates for election to Tower Hamlets Council.
Bethnal Green and Bow MP George Galloway – who now lives in the Brick Lane London er1 area that faces devastation from the Crossrail hole Bill if it goes through - is backing the demonstration against Tower Hamlets Council on 1 March. It has been organised by Khoodeelaar! The Brick Lane London E1 area campaign against the Crossrail hole Bill to mark the last full Council meeting which will be held before the scheduled local council elections on 4 May 2006.
Galloway hit the headlines in January 2006 when he was ‘absent’ from the constituency and was being vilified by Blairing propagandists who claimed that he had let the constituency down by missing an alleged debate in the UKL house of Commons on Crossrail.
The fact is that Galloway did not let the constituency down on Crossrail. If anything, it was Galloway who spoke in the most critical way of all participants in the UK House of Commons formal debate on the hybrid Crossrail Bill on 19 July 2005.
Even onetime fellow-left Labour MP John McDonnell who in a formal way acknowledged some of the constitutional anomalies that Galloway had pointed out in his speech on Crossrail [19 July 2005], proceeded to put on the record his own support for the Crossrail project.
Galloway has been most outspoken in his attack on the Crossrail venture in the recent weeks. Delivering the closing speech at a meeting he jointly sponsored and held at the Brady Centre in Hanbury Street on Saturday 11 February, George Galloway outlined his own and his RESPECT coalition’s fierce opposition to Crossrail.
He said that he would be actively engaged in doing anything that they legally could to delay and eventually defeat the Crossrail plan against the community across Tower Hamlets.
He repeatedly echoed Khoodeelaar! Organiser Muhammad Haque who had addressed the same meeting giving some very exhaustive facts concerning the previous 25 months of the campaign against the Crossrail hole Bill.
Galloway particularly pointed out that the Crossrail ‘select committee’ that is now in session apparently to scrutinise the contents of the Bill in view of the objections [365 in total] was not going to protect the community in the East End from Crossrail attacks.
“We have to do it ourselves”, said George Galloway.
The demonstration on Wednesday 1 March 2006 against the present Tower Hamlets Council is expected to be also backed by the RESPECT coalition and a number of their newly-announced candidates for election as councillors on Tower Hamlets council are included as speakers.
The Tower Hamlets Liberal Democrats councillors, who constitute the main opposition group on the present Tower Hamlets Council, are also backing the Khoodeelaar demonstration against the Council.
Lib Dem Group leader Janet Ludlow will be one of three Lib Dem councillors billed to speak against the Council’s role so far in allowing the crossrail hole problem to become such a threat to the people in the borough.
In a separate move, Lib Dem councillor Louise Alexander has submitted a rather
Strong motion against the Crossrail hole.
She is expected to speak on her motion at the full session of the Council on Wednesday 21 February 2006.
At the time of writing this [1315 hrs GMT Tuesday 21 February 2006] there is no indication of any action against Crossrail hole by the lone Conservative Councillor on Tower Hamlets Council. Nor is there any indication of any campaigning activity against the Crossrail hole by any member of the ‘Labour Party’ on the present tower Hamlets Council.

1. Local people have the last opportunity to make democratic demands on the ‘elected’ Council on Wednesday 1 March 2006 before the present Council is replaced by the election due to be held on 4 May 2006. Everyone who is concerned about the integrity of the environment, the community and the health and welfare of the people who live and work in the Brick Lane London E1 area should support this demonstration and make the democratic contribution towards putting pressure on the failing and the misrepresenting councillors who make up the controlling group on Tower Hamlets Council.
2. The present controlling elements on Tower Hamlets Council have continued to defy the community’s demand of 22 January 2006 that the Council pass a single simple motion categorically opposing the Crossrail hole Bill. Khoodeelaar! gave the ‘chief executive’ Christine Gilbert due notice of the community’s demand for a no-crossrail-hole resolution by the Council.
3. Khoodeelaar! also gave Christine Gilbert and other designated employees of the LBTH Council due legal evidence of the community’s demand.
4. Christine Gilbert failed to do her job in accordance with the democratic wishes of the local community on the issue of the Council’s role over the Crossrail hole plan scheme attacks. The controlling elements who have been operating with the active participation of Christine Gilbert have instead resorted to making a series of additionally wrongful steps, including misusing council cash and abusing the Council’s position as the relevant ‘local authority’ which has material and patronage-linked dealings, contacts and contracts with certain groups, individuals and enterprises within the Brick Lane London E1 area. It is this area that is facing the worst disaster as planned in the Crossrail hole Bill...
5. The misuses and the abuses of the council’s cash and ‘powers’ include the illegal promises the current controlling group on Tower Hamlets Council is making about Council cash to certain groups and individuals if they go along with the present Council on its Crossrail-hole deals against the very survival of the local community.
6. The Crossrail Bill is a multifariously flawed Bill at technical, environmental and above all economic levels. The Crossrail Bill flaws become totally oppressive when its powers to destroy the Brick Lane London E1 area are examined. Those powers are being formally sought from Parliament by the Crossrail promoters. But the destructive and anti-social and wasteful powers would not have been in the Crossrail Bill had the controlling group on ‘local authority’ the London Borough of Tower Hamlets Council consisted of individuals as councillors who had a clear conscience and a dedication to serve and to defend the local community.
7. The Crossrail hole provisions and powers are in the hybrid ‘Crossrail Bill’ [now in the UK House of Commons] because of active collusion by some of the controlling clique on Tower Hamlets Council with the vested Big Business interests behind the Crossrail adventure. It is these elements that allowed the addition of a ‘Crossrail station at Whitechapel’ as a totally unnecessary imposition which they then used to aid the bogus arguments for Crossrail hole attacks on the Brick Lane London Area. This is why the present Tower Hamlets Council must totally disassociate themselves from the crass Crossrail hole provisions and they must do so now and as demanded by the community backing the khoodeelaar! campaign on 22 January 2006 and they must do this at the last full Council meeting on 1 March 2006.
8. At least one motion along the lines of the community’s demand for a No to Crossrail hole Bill is due
to be put for vote by councillors at the full Council meeting on Wednesday 1 March 2006.

Matthew Parris, revives Crossrail Bill backer Ken Livingstone

The emotional and very silly comments for CrossRail and the allied endorsement of a ‘Tory Ken Livingstone’ by Matthew Parris as published on the Times website 21 December 2006 do not advance the cause of a reasoned debate on a serious matter.
Unless a genuinely reasoned argument and debate is allowed, we are in danger of being ‘seduced’ into allowing the construction of what is bound to be the equivalent of 20 Millennium Domes. Huge public money being wasted for no justifiable or demonstrable benefit to the public. Or to the overall economy.
It is a very serious matter when £Billions of public money is being demanded to be given away to what will be effectively a small number of construction conglomerates.
The transport problems in London deserve to be solved. They cannot be solved by fantasy talk. £Billions of public money cannot and must not be demanded to be wasted when the existing public transport infrastructure is in need of vital repair and improvement.
No case has been made for CrossRail as 'the solution'. What successive Governments have found is that the CrossRail scheme is not aimed at addressing overall transport needs. As its promoters have made no secret, Crossrail is about linking the City and Canary Wharf and Heathrow.
That is not at all the same thing as the needs of London's transport economics. Also the severe destruction to the environment and to very important communities in East London cannot be justified. The latest proof is to be found in the Rod Eddington Review - that Crossrail is most likely to be one of the seductive schemes without the proper merit.
The UK economy deserves better than the short-sighted ambitions of construction companies and the City of London.
The railway system outside of the London - and the South East region deserves as much attention as those claiming to speak for London say London does.
How can any responsible commentator make comments that do not address the issues knowledgably, appropriately, responsibly and truthfully? Emotional and taunting remarks cannot be the basis for allowing scarce Treasury resources to the tunes of £Billions to be given over for the benefit of exclusive interests and lobbies.
KHOODEELAAR! Told you so! Now, even the UK CON Party's promotional blog 'ConservativeHome' is conceding the crassness at the centre of Conservative CrossRail! And this is not made any 'better' for Boris Johnson either, says today's crass chorus!
KHOODEELAAR! is asking the latest 'chief executive' [=Town Clerk] at Tower Hamlets Council to answer the outstanding questions that we had been asking Christine Gilbert up to the time when she decided to pay attention to our then widely publicised demand and leave the Council. Albeit with a bit of help from Blair and her other promoters.
Christine has been in place at OFSTED which location she is due to leave before the end of this calendar year [2010 AD], if reports are accurate.
Kevan Collins, the current Tower Hamlets Borough Council Town Clerk, appears to have been lacking good advice.
Especially good legal advice.
We here provide that vital advice, as always gratis and for the sake of the ordinary community in the East End of London.
Our advice to Kevan Collins is this: Quit faking it. Your over-the-top self-promotion is not consistent with the dignity that the post demands. Nor is your self-peddling claim – as packaged with the help of insiders at Channel 4 and broadcast in the serious ‘Undercover Boss’- that you have been modest let alone honest about that propaganda initiative. Is justified or justifiable.
You have not paid attention to the repeatedly stated representation to your office to the effect, amongst other things, that serious questions about the use of the Council’s ‘powers’ in making secret deals with Big Business and other external parties remain unanswered.
We here ask you publicly to answer the questions we had put to Christine Gilbert about the ‘Idea Store’ and the funding for it, which was 'procured' from public sources in a very secret deal.

8. What constitutional basis was said to exist at the time when the cash deal was being made for the Crossrail the payment to Tower Hamlets Council?
9. Did anyone go on the record and are there minutes of the meetings and are there documents showing all the contacts and the communications that took place between the Tower Hamlets Council and the Crossrail interests at the time and covering the whole deal?
10. Given that the Crossrail plan is yet a theory - as distinct from a legally implementable programme- and the hybrid Crossrail Bill was not even introduced to the UK House of Commons until 22 February 2005, who decided to even contemplate involving the legal and the constitutional entity of the London Borough of Tower Hamlets Council in a clearly speculative, illegal deal?

If Tower Hamlets Council has been paying cash to so-called ethnic language titles circulating in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets Council [especially in the past two months] making all manner of claims to the effect that it – the controlling collection of personnel acting as and in the name of the LBTH Council – has not behaved dishonestly, that it has not concealed the core facts from the community about the Council’s behaviour on the Crossrail hole plan, that it has abided by the demands of the community as expressed at the meeting on 22 January 2006 in the motion spoken and moved by Mr Muhammad Haque – then how is it that we are still, at 7 March 2006 having to ask these detailed questions of so many ‘senior’ employees in the LBTH Council about what the |Council did in its clearly speculative and unrepresentative deals with Crossrail for any cash payments?

How to scrap a stooge Council in Tower Hamlets and have a democratic locally elected Council on 4 May 2006
Criteria for voting for any candidate for election to the Council in the London borough of Tower Hamlets
Those criteria must include the following very ordinary elements that are often forgotten and underrated:
1. Does this candidate know about the Crossrail threat to the East End? if they do, what have they done in the past 27 months to defend the community and oppose the CrossRail hole threat? If they say they know of the threat but cannot show evidence to support any claim that they have opposed the Crossrail hole then they must not be trusted if they now say they will oppose the CrossRail hole if and after getting elected on 4 May 2006.
2. Does the candidate have a track record on opposing corruption on the Council and in public life? If so, what corrupt activities do they bring to light and when? If their ‘assuring’ words do not match their record then they must not be trusted and they do not deserve the vote.
3. What did the candidate do to oppose poverty creation programme in the East End? Do they even know what that is? NO? Here is how KHOODEELAAR! defines the poverty creation programme in the East End – the whole corrupting COUNCIL-controlled community grants scheme is poverty creation. Because the ‘supplementary’ ‘schemes that these Council grants are supposed to be operating should be done by the Council under its own programmes. But the Council is in a mess. And the Council has the advantage of not being OPPOSED democratically from w3ithin the Council Chamber. Not in the way that its should be opposed. the result is that it gets away on two scores. First by failing to deliver the services at the primary level. The deficit that that failure creates is then shown as capable of compensation by giving token grants. But instead of solving the deficit that then creates the opportunity on the party of the controlling group to corrupt the community.
4. Ordinary honesty and integrity – Do NOT vote for anyone who on the facts of their behaviour, is not honest and lacks integrity. Voters do not need to ‘test them as elected councillors’. Do not risk the person being allowed to become a councillor if you know they are shifty, dodgy, unreliable etc.
5. If the candidate has held any publicly-paid position before seeking election this time, have they impeccable records of behaving honestly and with integrity in their job/s?
6. How ‘dedicated’ is the given candidate to serving the community?
7. Is the candidate linked with any existing ‘voluntary’ project in the area? If so, what is the link? Is the link based on the candidate’s ‘skills’ or ‘qualifications and is there any financial interest of any description?

It is only via the intervention of a court – a properly constituted and functioning court that some of the crucial evidence involved in the confection and the propaganda of the CrossRail assault plan can be examined.
How?
I here go over some related grounds and issues.
When the campaign is against the behaviour of the Crossrail hole Bill Minister Alistair Darling ‘MP’, the intervention of the court is the logical constitutional step to take.
What else is there within the UK [!!! unwritten!!!!] constitution?
The courts are supposed to interpret the actions of the executive.
The Executive – a Minister, a Secretary of State – cannot be made to tell us much of what prejudices he is driven by.
When he made the statement at the time in early 2005 when he formally presented the CrossRail Bill in the UK House of Commons, he declared himself ‘satisfied’ that the contents of that Bill were compatible with the European Convention on Human rights.
There was barely a full sentence.
So dismissive of the notion of human rights was Darling that he did not even bother to refer to any of the contents of the Bill.
So, he was telling all concerned that as far as he – and the Blairing regime that he stood for was concerned – the Crossrail Bill was a piece of cake! No problem.
That is why he could be so contemptuously scathing and tokenistic of the human rights implications as he was.
That is why he needs to be shown that he ought to have paid due and manifest attention to the contents.
Darling cannot be shown the errors he made in any other forum.
Not most certainly, in the ‘sovereign UK Parliament’.
That is a joke, of course.
The shamelessly careeristic way that the majority of the party political and moral and ethical mice [with a big word of apology to the mice] roam within the ‘Palace of Westminster’ and its ‘included’ extensions and buildings, there would be no holding of any of these Ministers to any account there.
That is why we had to have the Scott inquiry. And what a load of lies came rushing out of the bags that got opened and unpacked there”!
We had to have even the Hutton inquiry into Alistair Campbell ruling over Tony Blair!
And despite the pathetic ‘conclusions’ by Hutton, the process focussed enough attention on the inherent corruption of those who have been holding positions of power in recent times in the UK.
Had Darling paid the attention he ought to have done – and as a self-professed lawyer he MUST have done – he would have seen that the Crossrail hole Bill was FULL of incompatibilities.
Incompatibilities with the Human Rights Conventions.
Any self-respecting ‘lawyer’ would have been ashamed of the crass document that Darling was presenting under the title of the ‘CrossRail Bill’.

Give them the slightest excuse and the oozing, self-seeking, small-time careerists will fall over their pathetic embarrassingly shameless selves to utter praise for the most unpraiseworthy of tokens.
Like we had suffered in 1998 when there was a continuing farrago of obscenity in the name of democracy that had been unleashed by the Blaring time-servers and whips following the 1997 ‘victory’ and the replacement of the Sleaze-balls Tories by the Sleaze-ball-champions Blair. That ‘victory’ was evident in so many displays of anti-democratic abuses of the idea of ‘democracy’ that should have alerted the population as a whole that Blair was set to destroy all signs and marks of the good efforts that people had put into making the society a bit more civilised than it had been prior to the 1950s. In the year 1998 we saw the continuation of the democratic obscenities issuing from the whips of the Blair corrupting machine. There were routine and revolting ‘praises’ and ‘congratulations’ uttered by any number of ‘new’ MPs who wanted to ingratiate themselves to their alleged constituents.
What they do not seem to realise is that people – offensively misleadingly referred to as constituents on those occasions – want to be ingratiated to like that as the last thing in their lives!

Isn’t the fact that you have not published any evidence or any credible or evident reference to any accessible or producible evidence in support of the publication in your title of the falsehoods for the controlling clique on Tower Hamlets Council and its ‘leader’ ‘councillor’ Michael Keith PROOF that the is no such evidence?
You could have, technically speaking, produced something if there had been anything of substance that you could publish. But there is nothing of that description in existence. 14. Do you ‘in your attitude and in your understanding and in your ordinary perceptions’ belong to this local community in the East End or do you belong in some other place? If you do belong to our community then you must realise that you owe the basic decency to tell your alleged readers the facts of what the CrossRail hole threat our community had involved under the corrupt conspiratorial plots hatched against our community by the controlling clique on Tower Hamlets Council and you must tell the truth about what remains of that plot linked with the CrossRail hole plans that our East End community still faces. You must start by stopping to publish any more lies for the corrupt clique on Tower Hamlets Council or for its ‘leader’ ‘councillor’ Michael Keith. If you fail to publish the truth and if you continue to publish lies then you cannot be surprised if we refer your behaviour first to the Press Complaints Commission and failing that, to a court of Law in the UK. 15. We first issued this broad notice against your behaviour on 14 March 2006 at a Khoodeelaar! News Conference held at an address in Brick Lane London E1. Some of those who were present at that News Conference included some of your ‘staff’ or ‘correspondents. None of what we had said then [14 March 2006] appeared accurately in the relevant editions of your ‘publications’ that were published on dates after our announcement of 14 March 2006. Why did you fail to publish what we announced about your conduct concerned?
16. We made substantially the same comment with additional illustrations at our Khoodeelaar! Manifesto 2006 Seminar held on 19 March 2006. You failed to publish any of that. Why?
17. We have counted the number of times that your ‘publication’ was actually printed between January 2004 and 21 January 2006. You NEVER published a single item at all about any of the key facts or issues or implications of the Crossrail hole plan against our community across the Brick Lane London E1 area. That is, of almost 100 weekly editions, you never found a single week in which to publish the news of our campaign against the CrossRail holed plan assault on the East Ends. What, then, were you printing? Was it ‘news’? If so, for whom? How many ‘news’ items on any of your front pages or how many ‘comments’ in any of those 100 editions of your ‘ethnic language’ publications had you cared to actually tell the truth about what is [and has been] probably the single largest physical assault planned against any section of any settled ‘multi-ethnic’ community anywhere in the whole of Western Europe? Why did you suppress the facts of that assault until after 17 January 2006 when the Khoodeelaar! campaign holds its then latest demonstration in the Brick Lane area against the first sitting on that day of the UK House of Commons Select committee on the Crossrail hole Bill? How the sinking ‘careers’ of the present corrupt, Crossrail-hole-clique on Tower Hamlets Council also contaminated and displaced an ethical standard that should have been established in the BBC London studio where the crassness of the Crossrail plugger Mike Gapes was allowed to be exhibited with no dignified restraint put on him.
The clique did that by proxy.
By the oozing appearance on the show of Mike Gapes [More on his crass role for CrossRail in a later edition]
This took place in the broadcast package on ‘Crossrail’ this afternoon on BBC1 in their weekend POLITICS SHOW which itself was fronted by John Sopel.
Sopel had introduced the Blair DPM John Prescott in the context of the latest allegation of Sleaze as reported in some of the day’s [Sunday] papers.
In the course of that interview, Sopel stated a few times that that interview had resulted from
The call made by Prescott to the BBC.
What followed that statement did not address the question that arsis: Should the BBC ‘Politics Show’ or any other factual programme offer a platform to a Minister only because they received a call from that minister o r one from that Minister’s behalf?
Where will it end?
Should’ the BBC generally and the POLITICS SHOW on the matter of the crass Crossrail adventure in particular, have made can effort to get the facts of the matter across to the viewers
Shouldn’t’ they have pointed out?
Why didn’t the BBC ask Mike |Gapes to substantiate his embarrassing and undignified propensity to twice congratulate Tower Hamlets Council?
Was the BBC under instructions –as it is reported to be so often including as recounted by its former ‘Editor in Chief’, Greg Dyke – to be soft on the Blair regime and on those who are the regime lackeys in areas like the East End of London?
These questions must be asked because of the BBC’s failure to report on the campaign against the CrossRail hole over the past 27 months.
The only time that the BBC editorial decision-makers thought they could ‘concede’ any
Space or time to anyone op[posing the crass project was in July 2004 when they sent a London news crew to a meeting only because it was being addressed by the Blaring MP Oona King and a group of Crossrail-plugging holders of ‘elected’ office.
The BBC did not report on the strength of the arguments against the Crassrail hole plan nor did it show just how uneconomical, anti-social, undemocratic the Crossrail project was
In the time between July 2004 and 24 March 2006, the BBC were sent several hundred transmissions of news and facts and evidence by and on behalf of the Khoodeelaar! campaign.
The BBC must show that they operated on an ethical basis when they showed a very small part of the interviews with Khoodeelaar and gave far too much time and space to the pluggers for Crassrail.
If those plugs had substance backed up with evidence that could have been a different matter.
But the BBC package did not contain that.
And the rest of the BBC factual programme making seems to be following the same line – that the Crossrail plug is believable.
We say it is not.
We say that the Crossrail pluggers must be examined and made to produce evidence to substantiate each of their key arguments.
We say that the BBC publish an explanation of why they thought that only because those in the studio ‘discussion’ had tags of ‘MPs’ attached to their names so therefore they knew the facts of what the CrossRail scheme was or that they had more legitimacy to be given more space on the programme and in the package than the Khoodeelaar! campaign.

I noticed that on the BBC1 ‘Politics Show’ shown on Sunday 26 March 2006, the Blairing MP Mike Gapes [Ill-fraud] [this is a new word I have just coined for this edition of Khoodeelaardotcom at 1348 Hrs GMT on Monday 27 March 2006] managed to ‘congratulate Tower Hamlets Council’ TWICE in the broadcast package on the CrossRail hole Bill scheme and he was not quizzed on that brazen plug for a very discredited clique which we had found on the facts had been playing a touting role in bringing the Crossrail hole attacks on our community.
Mike Gapes failed to substantiate that oozing eagerness to congratulate the clique. He also failed to mention the fact that on 19 July 2005 he had made assertions in plugging the Crossrail Bill in the House of Commons that were not substantiated cannot be substantiated and have not been substantiated.
The package included references to the grant of £100 million by the Secretary of State in December 2005 and the nearly £40 Million being spent each year on planning.
What evidence was there that that money was being spent for the benefit of the people in London?
Why didn’t the programme give any details about what the money was being spent on and what auditing supervision and accountability?
The programme also jumped to ‘what about the rest of the cost’ part, without examine the relevance of Crossrail in the context of the UK national economy and without giving any space to any examination of what London’s transport system was currently costing the public.
We have opposed the CrossRail hole Bill BOTH on the devastating effects it would cause to vast areas in the East End and also on the fundamental engineering, environmental, economic flaws inherent in the entire Bill. Your programme did not even pretend to examine those. It also allowed the ‘MPs’ to say superficial things without pressing them or asking them to examine the overall transport framework in the UK, in London and beyond
It also failed to question the untruth that causing devastation to the East End equalled bringing benefits. It did not ask what the correlation was between the CrossRail 'plan, scheme, project' in relation to the existing transport infrastructure in London and what only one of the MPs included on your programme [we note that inclusion], George Galloway identified CrossRail plan as a commuter line.
These are, in very brief terms, some of the faults in the factual contents and presentation of the issue as broadcast today Sunday 26 March 2006.
Khoodeelaar! daily publishes the campaign details as well as reports on related matters on the Khoodeelaardotcom in defence of the community and against the Crossrail hole plans scheme project Bill.
Over the past 27 months, we have created and published hundreds of reports covering every single engineering, economic incremental, social, democracy-related aspects of the Crossrail plan.
We are putting this comment on to the BBC web site for the record. We expect that the BBC would not suppress this comment and that they would allow a full-scale debate on the evidence to take place on all the BBC networks, outlets and publications.

Why have we delayed our report on the role played by the political groupings and parties on the current Tower Hamlets Council over the CrossRail hole attacks on the East End?
Answer: because the ‘parties’ and the ‘groups’ [which are at the time of writing, the Blaired Labour Party, the Conservative Party, the Liberal Democratic Party, the RESPECT Coalition] have not made any statement that has addressed the more than 100 questions that we have published and put to them over the past 27 months.
It is for that reason that we decided to give the groupings and parties [listed above] a period of time just before the scheduled 4 May 2006 council elections to reflect on their record and to address the questions.
We have also found that contrary to the ‘interest’ shown by the ‘groupings’ and ‘parties’ in the matter of the CrossRail hole threat to the East End, they have not made any detailed documentary analysis of the threat.
Why is that so?
The answer can only be because they do not operated on the basis of defending the community. Not when that takes precedence over the careers of those within the groupings and parties.
If there is any other reason then the groupings are hereby being asked one final time to substantiate with legitimate reason why they have not made the statements that they should have made but they have not made.
What could that statement contain that is not contained in the information that they have made available or the information that is available about their role/s?
Answer: for a start, [a] they could say if they have opposed the CrossRail Hole plan in their actions as councillors or as groups of councillors within the Tower Hamlets Council, on the Tower Hamlets Council and as being represented on the Tower Hamlets Council.
The second part of what we have asked them to show – on the facts and nothing but facts –
Is that [b] they must tell us what occasion it was that they opposed the CrossRail hole plan and how they made that known out in the community in the context of the past 27 months of the khoodeelaar ! No to CrossRail hole campaign.
For 27 months, we have made the most explicit series of demands backed up by continuing, ongoing original research into the entire CrossRail scheme and we have done this in a way that neither the Council nor any party nor the Department for Transport nor the CrossRail Company has done in any way whatever. We challenge those organisations on this factual statement. WE challenge them to provide facts to contradict this statement and this Khoodeelaar! Record.
For 27 months, we have asked the most extensive questions of all the holders of all key positions on the Tower Hamlets Council about their conduct in the context of the CrossRail hole.
We have published materials and information in print and on the internet as well as on video.
We have done that against the fact that the corrupt clique on Tower Hamlets Council has abused the access it has to the coffers of the Council to spend the community’s money in bribing certain locally distributed ‘newspapers’.
We have not seen any single mention by these groupings on the Council about any of that.
We have initiated every single disclosure of every single act of corruption by the controlling clique on Tower Hamlets Council.
If these ‘groupings’ are saying that they have been opposing the hole set of Crossrail-hole-corrupt and undemocratic and unaccountable behaviour by the controlling clique on Tower Hamlets Council then we are asking them, this very final time to let us know where they have done that and how they have done that.
We are utterly opposed to corruption sleaze and undemocratic tactics, policies and practices within ALL groups and parties and we have surprising discolours to make about how the current corrupt clique on the Council has been using as political –electoral decoys a significant number of ‘candidates’ and ‘members’ of the ‘opposition’ groups and groupings.
We shall disclose soon how certain ‘leading’ Opposition members on Tower Hamlets Council may in fact have been being used to protect the key interprets and the 'careers as a Councillor' of a number of the current clique in ‘control’ of Tower Hamlets Council.

1. That Ken Livingstone [‘Mayor of London’] has made the announcement accepting the main arguments of the Khoodeelaar! Campaign is not, of course, expressly recognised or admitted in the contents of the news release which was secretively released to a very small number of people in the UK on Friday 24 March 2006 on Livingstone’s behalf. That is typical of the low standard of ‘ethnics’ that is found all the way across Ken Livingstone's entire ‘London-based--personally-lucrative-'political'-career’. He has no moral courage to admit that he was wrong about Crossrail from start to finish. He has no moral courage to admit that he was extremely immoral and undemocratic when he tried to brand the entire community in the East End as ‘purchasable bribable’ with ’ethnicity-linked;’ grants and offers of concessionary rates on business premises etc which he said in 2005 would be made available to ‘ethnic minorities’ if they cooperated with the Crossrail hole tunnel being dug in the Brick Lane London E1 area.
2. That he has made the about turn is more to do with the pact he has had – the devil’s pact - to do his bit to salvage the sleaze-sunk career of Tony Blair is obvious.
