KHOODEELAAR! evidential update on the suppression of information by the London EVENING STANDARD that has been acting as a corrupting tout for Big Business, City of London CRASSrail...

We AADHIKARonline reproduce below a 'comment' item as carried on the web site of the London EVENING nostandards STANDARD. This is a historic item. How? Because the item contains an almost credible questioning of Crassrail.

Historic, because the lying EVENING nostandards STANDARd does not publish any factual item critical of the crassly conceived Crassrail... By carrying the item concerned on its web site the London EVENING nostandards STANDARD has broken the lying mould. Albeit just for a few dozen lines!

This is also being published here on AADHIKARonline to reinforce the evidentially sustained argument that KHOODEELAAR! No to Crossrail hole scam CAMPAIGN has been making for the past 5 years to the effect that the real reason why the crass Crossrail is being ‘funded’ by Brown, darling et al with £Billions of public money in a deepening climate of economic downturn is nothing whatever to do with the transport needs of London or the transport priorities in and of London... the real reason is that Crossrail is a pretext, a tool, an excuse to enable Big Business and the Military Industrial Complex a scope to loot the £Billions from the public …

This is why ‘views’ and ‘comments’ like the one we are here reproducing [see below and on the linked column to the side of this page] do NOT appear on the web site of the London EVENING nostandards STANDARD.

How do we know this ?

Because as participators in the KHOODEELAAR! campaign against Crossrail for the past 5 years, we have witnessed the literally thousands of factual items EXPOSING Crossrail hole scam being posted on the KHOODEELAAR! web sites and carried on AADHIARonline... Not one of those has been even remotely acknowledged by the London EVENING nostandards STANDARD.

If there has been any unintended vindication by London EVENING nostandards STANDARD of any of the KHOODEELAAR! analyses, predictions and warnings then we have published the facts of those exceptions on this and on allied web sites and pages.

The anti-roads lobby always say that if you provide a road, then traffic will in time fill it, and negate the short-term improvement; they're right.
Is the same not also true of railway capacity? Given the universal assumption that no private developer would provide Crossrail as a profit-making scheme, should we not stand back and ask why not, rather than assume that the public purse should provide it instead?
Why is it assumed that economic activity, especially in this time of instant communication, consists always in packing in more and more people from a bigger and bigger area into the same small space? If I can do business with my bank online, why can't the bank?
My humble suggestion would be to legislate that contracts of employment made an employee's journey to work a cost of the employer: we'd soon see a radical reassessment of where businesses should be located, and where they should be recruiting their staff. Head offices would downsize, and enlarge their back office functions further out into the suburbs, making life easier for job-sharers, and working mothers. If we could reduce the average commute by one-third, the social gain would be huge with no loss of wealth:family life and local voluntary culture of all sorts would revive.
Crossrail has the feel about it of feeding an addiction,or alleviating a symptom, rather than fixing the disease.
