KHOODEELAAR! TOLD Cameron so!! Now Cameron's 'return' 'Blitz' to Debts-role-playerr Crossrail-funder Brown MUST specify Crossrail as crass example of Brown's folly..... [458]
1255 Hrs GMT London Wednesday 31 December 2008:
KHOODEELAAR! No to ‘Crossrail hole scam’, No to ‘Big Business touting by Govt at the expense of ordinary people’, No to ‘CRASS role by Boris Johnson abusing the post he holds in the name of the people of London’ ……
KHOODEELAAR! TOLD David Cameron SO!
KHOODEELAAR! TOLD David Cameron to declare HIS position on the wasteful, irrelevant, obsolete, over-hyped, over-sold, over runner CRASSLY conceived Crossrail……..
We have also extensively shown the utter stupidity of Cameron's transport fronter Chris Grayling [before Grayling was found to be too useless and moved to show his additional stupidity as the alleged shadow on ‘Work and Pensions’] KHOODEELAAR! Did tell Cameron so over the past more than a year….
In de facto comments and in the direct comments and in the published comments…..
It has taken Cameron over a year now to begin to understand [or to show ANY understanding of] some of the concepts and words and their economic, social, democracy-linked implications that the KHOODEELAAR! Campaign had been focussing on and drawing to the attention of all who claimed [or claim] to belong to the school of responsible, ethical representation in the UK……According to today’s London DAILY MAIL [Wednesday 31 December 2008], Cameron has begun to understand at least SOME of the fallacies, errors, flaws that we have pointed out in the Gordon Brown-fronted Blaired regime in the UK…….
KHOODEELAAR! Will be examining these in the course of this week…… and beyond….. We shall also update the link between the analytical statement we had originated and published about the Crossrail hole scam, Big Business agenda-flaunting Ken Livingstone as the ‘corrupter of London’ and the ‘cosy’ acceptance [NAY! Even the appropriation!!!!] by Boris Johnson of the worst ‘legacies’ that Livingstone had left behind in May 2008….. [To be continued]

This 75p insult: 'Pay rise' for thousands of poor pensioners in care homes leaves them worse off than convicts

'An insult': Alan Johnson has announced elderly people in care homes will receive an increase of just 75p a week from April
Tens of thousands of elderly people in care homes are to be given a spending money increase of just 75p a week.
They will have no more than £21.90 a week to pay for everything from clothes to toothpaste, books and phone calls.
The below-inflation rise was condemned as 'Scrooge-worthy' and 'an insult'. It means vulnerable elderly people will have less spending money than prisoners in jail. The spending limit applies to all care home residents whose bills are being paid by the state.
Any income they receive - normally a state or private pension - must be handed over to help fund their care. The spending allowance is the only part of their own money they can keep.
At present it is £21.15 a week but Health Secretary Alan Johnson has announced an increase to £21.90 from April. That is a rise of 3.5 per cent - with inflation running at 4.1 per cent on the Government's favoured Consumer Prices Index.
The decision provoked outrage among MPs and charities. Age Concern said the increase was 'barely enough to buy a packet of biscuits' and complained that a string of Government promises to review the system have been broken.
By contrast, prisoners can spend £33 a week of their own money on products available in jail, which include food, cigarettes and toiletries.
Age Concern director Gordon Lishman attacked the Health Department for slipping the news out during the Christmas-New Year holiday.
He said: 'This Scrooge-worthy increase is barely enough to buy a packet of biscuits. It is an insult to the vulnerable care home residents who rely on it.
'It is humiliating for them to have to go with a begging bowl to family or friends just to buy essentials. Ministers should be ashamed of themselves.'

£7.5m reason why pensions crisis isn't troubling ministers
Liberal Democrat MP Paul Burstow said: 'This derisory increase is symbolic of the Government's attitude towards elderly people and care homes.
'The Government promised a consultation on this. They told me in January they would do it during the year. But they have chosen not to.
'They are happy to trumpet a one-off £60 bonus to the state pension, but they haven't said anything about the decision to keep the care home allowance low.
'There is no doubt that to remain a decent society we need to pay far more so that older people can have some dignity.'
The row is the latest twist to the deepening crisis over the care of frail and sick older people, highlighted by the Daily Mail's Dignity for the Elderly campaign.
A squeeze on spending is cutting back state help for three-quarters of a million people who need either help at home or a place in residential care. A means test system forces more than 70,000 people each year to sell their homes to pay care bills - while the state covers the fees for those who have never saved or worked to buy a house.
Care home residents who have more than £22,250 in assets must pay their own bills, which in England are rarely less than £450 a week and can reach more than £800.
When their reserves dip below £22,250 the state takes over their bills, but they have to surrender their pensions and remaining savings - that is where they run into the limit on how much of their own money they can spend.
Around a quarter of a million care home residents are limited to the allowance - just over £3 a day - to pay for all items that are not part of the state-funded care package.
That covers toothpaste, chiropody, toiletries, phone calls, books and magazines, hobbies and transport, shoes and clothing and presents for family and friends.
Ministers have given three undertakings in the past 18 months to organise a consultation process of the allowance.
Outside analysts say it should be at least £40 a week.
'It's my 75p pension rise from the PM - he says "Don't spend it all in the one shop!"'
The Department of Health said last night that the long-promised review of allowances for care home residents would happen next year.
A spokesman said: 'The Department of Health will increase the personal expenses allowance in line with changes to all other state benefits.
'In addition, in 2009, the department will issue a consultation document which will consult on a range of issues related to the charging for residential care.
'This commitment to consult has been made earlier this year, to a range of organisations.'
The row over care home allowances comes in advance of a Green Paper on the workings of the adult social care system, which was promised by Gordon Brown for next year.
The current means test system has been widely criticised for penalising those in care homes who have worked and saved and denying any state help at all to another 300,000 middle-class people who would benefit from assistance with washing, dressing, cooking and coping in their own homes.
A Health Department consultation on paying for a revamped care system ended last month.
One suggestion from ministers was an 'ageing tax' in which every worker would have to pay an extra tax to cover care in their old age.
Sceptics among charities and pressure groups believe the Green Paper may be delayed beyond the next General Election because the Government cannot afford either to levy a new tax or find the billions that would be needed to pay for refor

After 'Jim' Callaghan's hand-written 'concerns', what has Gordon Brown been writing about having to fund Crossrail? [b]

After 'Jim' Callaghan's hand-written 'concerns', what has Gordon Brown been writing about having to fund Crossrail?
Today’s coverage of the ‘publication’ of some of the officially secret information about the ‘conduct of government in the 1970s when ‘Jim’ Callaghan was fronting it, again confirm the view that the only guarantee for a democratic society is constant democratic awareness by all the people. That awareness has got to be focussed on WHAT the holders of the positions of power in the state, at ANBY level, whether local, regional or central, are doing in our names.. In the name of the people, the public.
This is why the elected ‘representatives’ fail in their ,main duties when they don’t ask questions on all matters that matter. At the time.
The particular ‘Jim’ Callaghan hand-written notes, as published by the BBC today, reinforce the democratic and the universally valid argument for asking; What is Gordon Brown sitting on?
As HIS hand-written concerns about the debts that he ahs been propelled into indulging in ?
Debts that the Crossrail scam entails?
Causing debts to the economy in order to enrich Big Business?

KHOODEELAAR! No to Crossrail hole scam CHALLENGING the Mail on Sunday peddling an alleged ban on 'New Year Honours' by the Crown and against the City of London! It is NOT true!
By © Muhammad Haque
1815 Hrs GMT London Sunday 28 December 2008-12-28
The Mail on Sunday [28 December 2008] is publishing utter rubbish by putting on its front page this heading, "QUEEN’S CITY HONOURS BAN"
It is ALSO WRONG, for the n’th time, to misrepresent in the same piece carried into an inside page the concept of ‘leftwing journalist’ and refer to the former staff member on Time Out and City Limits without making it clear that the campaigning journalist Duncan Campbell is NOT the one who is linked with the actress Julie Christie.
The Mail on Sunday itself fawns over barons, peers and assorted other recipients of the Crown’s ‘honours’. The phrase to denounce the dishonesty in the Mail on Sunday about these matters is not available in the known vocabulary.
What the Mail on Sunday is doing is reinforcing the entitlement of the City of London elements to receive some sort of honours.
And in the accompanying write up, the Mail on Sunday totally fails to get to grips with the real problem that the City of London represents and is.
It fails to mention the knighthood that was PROCURED for Crossrail scam-peddler Michael Snyder earlier in the year.
Thus the Mail on Sunday, despite the false headline splashed on the front-page, fails to identify the ‘ban’ as a ban at all…
The Crown and especially the Crown prerogative and all the other undemocratic and unconstitutional ‘powers’ that are operated by the bureaucracy stationed at No 10 Downing Street, VERY MUCH NEED the fiddlers the dissemblers, the deceivers, and the profiteers, looters and the usurers known as the ‘City of London’.
The economics of fraud and corruption that the City of London typifies is also the cult that is worshipped by the likes of the proprietors of BOTH the Mail on Sunday and of the Times newspaper… which promoted Michael Snyder in April; 2008 a few weeks before he was confirmed as a Knight……… And the Murdoch Times [the 'Business' touting operation based at the Times] praised Snyder as the ‘Crossrail’ ‘champion…

KHOODEELAAR! Updating on the 'role' on Crossrail 'by' the 'local' MP ]Bethnal Green and Bow] George Galloway
By Muhammad Haque
1750 Hrs GMT
London Sunday 28 December 2008
The main updater point is to ask: what has the 'local' MP for Bethnal Green and Bow been 'saying or 'doing' about ‘Crossrail’?
The researches that KHOODEELAAR! has been able to carry out in the time between Sunday 21 December 2008 and today, Sunday 28 December 2008, show that ON THE RECORD - nay, on the PUBLISHED RECORDS- George Galloway as not been noticeably active at all on the subject of Crossrail...
One research organisation tested by KHOODEELAAR! Research unit found Galloway being reported as having ‘signed’ 36 ‘Early day Motions’.
In 2005 when the ‘Crossrail Bill’ was being processed through the UK House of Commons by the then UK Transport Secretary Alistair Darling [now the UK Finance secretary or the ‘lead’ cabinet minister fronting financial affairs], and less than two months after the [May 2005] General Election at which Galloway was successful as the candidate for Bethnal green and Bow, he did oppose the Crossrail Bill.
He also spoke in opposition to the same Bill on 19 July 2008.
Khoodeelaar! has already recorded that fact and elaborated on it on more than 100 separate public and published occasions…
What happened between 19 July 2005 and 19 July 2006?
That was also the period which contains the highest number of references by or on behalf of George Galloway as the MP for the relevant constituency [the 'relevance' is to Khoodeelaar! that defends the immediate parliamentary constituency of Bethnal green and Bow as against the Crossrail; Big Business agenda] and on the topic of Crossrail.
After he appeared before the House of Commons ‘Crossrail Bill Select committee’ [in June 2006], coincidentally chaired by Alan Meale who addressed Galloway in positive terms and acknowledged a long acquaintance with him, Galloway has not made any comment, speech or statement on the well-defined context and subject of the Crossrail hole attacks on the East End of London, that can be descried as objectively significant. Or any comment or statement on Crossrail that can be objectively described as significant.
In fact the recently very favourable coverage that Galloway has been receiving in the ‘East London Idiotiser’ has not included any mentionable reference to Crossrail that Galloway has made. This is borne out by the absence of any reference to Crossrail in any of the items published about Galloway as ‘the local MP’ for the constituency concerned by the Idiotiser or their associated web site [which was launched not long ago]..
The frequency of complementary contents appearing in the ‘East London Idiotiser’ about Galloway is in stark contrast with the Idiotiser’s publishing agenda up until the middle of 2007.

The KHOODEELAAR! Campaign has again been vindicated. This time it has come from a widely reported statement jointly made by a group of Anglican clergymen.... They have expressed serious concern at the politics of debts-creation!
Debts-creation is not the phrase they used. But that is what described what they have said..
At last, we say, a group of persons ordinarily associated with morality in society has come out and said it about Gordon Brown's regime...
KHOODEELAAR! has made the argument, in our written and other communications to Gordon Brown starting in February 2004…. And we have made this argument in detailed evidential, factual demonstrations for the past five years on daily sometimes hourly bases
The ‘same’ applies even more vigorously with the return of Peter Mandelson
One of the faked scenarios is of course with CrossRail agenda of Big Business and how Gordon Brown's regime has been 'misled' [this is putting it generously, as is the norm without ethical spstson] by Big Business touts in London to make funding commitments running into Billions of Sterling of money that ordinary people will have to pay.
The key fallacy in the Brown commitment of public funding to the Crossrail scam is in the fact that it is not needed by the public. It is not the public's priority..... It is not the priority by the standards of even the transport for London's own analysis.... It will NOT produce the economic benefit that the touts keep placing before the people in the propaganda…
They have never, and Gordon has never, stated where the economic case for Crossrail is.
Or where the 'economic benefits' will come from...... Before Boris Johnson became snared into the lobby and toutery for Big Business forces rtating in the UK and via the UK state agencies and Departments, Ken Livingstone was the mouthpiece for the same elements....
What Livingstone mouthed had been scripted for him by his allies and prompters.... The same has BECOME and
been the case with Boris Johnson..
The one serious problem that remains with Johnson’s repetition
of Livingstone’s
fakery for CrossRail is this: There is no evidence to support the ‘case’ they make on their fakery….
Where is the evidence for saying that Crossrail is needed?
The cost of CrossRail is a clear case of deliberate debt-creation where there is no need for it… money...in the Billions of pounds that Brown is going to put into CrossRail
at a time when the essential services that the ECONIOMY needs and relies on are being neglected ....

KHOODEELAAR! continuing the diagnosis of the sloganeering and ignorant utterances by Crossrail hole scam-funder UK finance minister [440]
KHOODEELAAR! 1228 Hrs GMT London Saturday 27 December 2008:
So who took the money and made the 'economy' so vulnerable? Surely the Big Banks know...
Alistair Darling, the officially described finance minister of the UK Government gave a banal interview to the BBC.. The interview as published din the last 48 hours, contains nothing.. Northing of the truth.... In any event that interview was a re-statement of what the BBC man doing the interviewing, had been saying all along. That the banks were not lending to each other...It must have been a personal 'achievement' [to be added to Peston's over-hyped and fake CV on the whole matter of his having broken so many of the 'downturn' 'stories' in the past 3 months, as incredibly suggested by the Daily Mail group of UK media] on Robert Peston's part to hear Darling repeat what Peston had said.... The clue is to be found in the answer to the question - which one of the two had been pocketed first by the propaganda lobby for Big Business? Peston or Alistair Darling?

KHOODEELAAR! Evidential review and analysis of the corrupting role played for Big Business Crossrail by the Murdoch-ed London Times in 2008 [425]

In this review of the KHOODEELAAR! Campaign against Crossrail in 2008 and the evaluation and assessment of the UK media in promoting the ‘case’ of Big Business craving even more £Billions from the ordinary UK population, I am taking a look at some of the persistent symbols of the ailment that afflicts the over-hyped ‘British media’..
Contrary to the hype and the marketing, the British media is as corrupt, as ignorant, and as undemocratic and anti-democracy as it ever was…It is because of these reasons that a community or a city or a population cannot rest assured of any assurance that any part of the mainstream British media may proffer about its being vigilant.......
The community, the people must remain alert as much about the role of the position holders in the central state as much as in the local and the regional states… And the people must treat the media for what it is in Britain: an adjunct of the state and the power-holding minority that is allowed to carry on without having to submit to any democratic scrutiny [inside the elected chambers ands halls] or media accountability…….
Crass is not far from corrupt. In fact, the two words and the concepts they denote are very similar.
In the context of ‘Crossrail’, 'crass' and 'corrupt' are easily interchangeable.
The Rupert Murdoch-ed London Times has over the past 14 months or so , published a number of my comments on the Times online web site.
But more often than not those items have been published under conditions of undue resistance by the ‘editors’. employed in the Murdoch organisation. They have resisted the comments and have only published them, in the majority of the cases, following repeated de facto demands for them to justify suppressing them. Or demands made to them to explain what ethics or morality or evidence, IF ANY, they were following in their intention to violate the right to make perfectly valid comments on the item concerned AS PUBLIHSED by them.
Several of those have NOT been directly about CRASSrail. But the ones that the Rupert Murdoch-ed Times online has persisted in suppressing have related to the core of the corruptly contrived Crossrail scam.
The most representative instance has been around the Murdoch Times’ persistent refusal to publish ANY comment whatever from anybody at all about their quite inelegant, embarrassing and low level sales-pitch for and promotion of Michael Snyder.
Now, Snyder is and has been at the very centre of the corrupt Big Business propaganda and operational enterprise based in the City of London peddling the fabrications designed to make Crossrail appear ‘vital for London’.
In the earlier part of 2008, the Times business interests promoter with supplicatory attitude to the City of London, ran a piece that reads like a CV for Michael Snyder..
That piece is an item of evidence for any ethical and even general study of the corruption of the UK media generally and of the Times [to the extent that it could still be corrupted after Murdoch seized control of the Times titles] …
I knew, from the contents of the plug piece for Snyder and from the Times’ persistence in refusing to publish any factual comments about Snyder that that plug was in aid of something …..That it had to be part of something other than just a plug in a newspaper and its web site..,. like a Knighthood for Snyder…
And lo and behold, they did manage to obtain ‘delivery’ of a knighthood for Snyder whom they had painted as an awesome influence for Crossrail….
That Times plug for Snyder was as corrupt, as untrue and untruthful as any plug that the City of London has ever made about itself being in any way socially responsible….

Crossrail man Michael Snyder: What direction next?
Michael Snyder is standing down after five years as chairman of the policy and resources committee of the City of LondonMartin Waller
Ask Michael Snyder what his main achievement has been in five years as chairman of the Policy and Resources Committee of the City of London and you might reasonably expect him to cite Crossrail.
He is the man who hammered through a £150million levy on London businesses and a £200million contribution from the City Corporation's own coffers that broke the deadlock last autumn over this essential transport project, “the only real improvement”, he says, “that can make a step change in London in our lifetimes”.
Business, and City and Canary Wharf institutions in particular, had claimed that the project was essential to London's survival by providing faster transport links to Heathrow and reducing congestion on the existing network. But the Treasury had balked at the cost and the project stalled. Given the £16billion that Crossrail will cost by the time it opens in 2017, the deal brokered by Mr Snyder looks like good value.
But he insists that this settlement would never have been possible without earlier lobbying efforts by the Corporation that put the subject of the competitiveness of the City on the political agenda. As a consequence, he says, all three parties are united for the first time in their appreciation of the importance of financial services.
The industry as a whole accounts for, he reels off with practised ease, 26 per cent of the UK's corporation tax take, £18billion to £20billion of revenues to the public exchequer, and another £18billion in foreign earnings. The council he has run, he says, is much more outward-facing than it was a decade ago, and more willing to fight its corner and put its case in Whitehall and elsewhere. It is also more efficient and able to take decisions more quickly.
This is partly, he believes, because of the shift from the Bank of England to the Financial Services Authority (FSA) of the responsibility for City regulation in December 2001. This left a vacuum, because the Bank, which had previously been seen as the voice of the City, withdrew to concentrate on monetary policy. The FSA's job was solely to regulate. “There was a real need for some focus, some facilitation, in the representation of the views of City businesses,” he says. The City Corporation stepped into the role.
Mr Snyder says that the City's higher political profile made it easier to accelerate the transport link.
“Getting the City on the agenda in itself helped to get Crossrail.”
He took over as chairman of the most powerful committee at Guildhall, where the local authority is based, in early 2003, having previously chaired the Finance Committee. He had a difficult act to follow. His predecessor, Dame Judith Mayhew, as she was then, was a fiercely driven New Zealander. As an Antipodean and a woman, she was not entirely accepted by the old boys' network that still prevails in places, but she could be staggeringly effective.
One of Mr Snyder's first acts was to put in place rules that would not allow him or his successors to stay on beyond five years, although they serve as deputy for an additional year. You could do this job for ever - but you shouldn't, he says.
In his day job, he is senior partner at Kingston Smith, a firm of chartered accountants that he joined in 1974, rising to managing partner five years later. This will take up more of his time now, although he is seeking other unspecified work, “very much staying in business, local government, City, financial services, accounting”, he says. He is not interested in lucrative non-executive posts, preferring a senior job at some public or private organisation. One senses that a useful quango or a reasonable-sized public company might fit the bill.
Ask which achievements he is proudest of, Crossrail and the City's heightened political profile aside, and he hammers out a long list of innovations and initiatives. He cites the establishment of offshoot bodies in Brussels, Beijing, Shanghai and Bombay. He also mentions Careers Open House, an inclusion initiative that has brought 2,000 youngsters from the deprived London boroughs that ring the City to experience the atmosphere there. “It shows what they can achieve - and that we don't have horns growing out of our heads,” he says.
Then there is the ever-changing City skyline - a quarter of all office space has been redeveloped over the past ten years. But, as the financial meltdown continues, do we really need all these new offices being built? “Yes, we do,” he says, becoming impassioned for the first time. “Broadgate Tower, 850,000sqft, was spec built. It's full. Heron Tower is going ahead, no problem. Everyone said Swiss Re [the Gherkin] wouldn't fill up. It's full.” There is, he says, only a year's supply of offices on the market, about par for the course at any given time. “We will need it.”
There is the transformation of Cheapside. By 2011 there will be 1.6millionsqft of retail space between St Paul's and the Royal Exchange, not bad for a financial centre that two decades ago could not boast a single decent bookshop. The downside, he admits: “Sometimes it looks like one big building site.”
As he rushes off to a meeting with business leaders, Mr Snyder takes the orthodox view within financial services that there is nothing wrong with the system, just the way it has been operated. I ask whether he is happy to be standing down. He seems genuinely not to have considered the question before. “I don't know,” he says. He does know that he will miss the contact with politicians and business leaders, and the sense of being at the centre of things. “I am slightly apprehensive.”
He disappears up the steps of the Guildhall art gallery for his meeting.
I suspect he will miss it all.

CRASS arithmetic indeed. £150 million, EVEN IF ACTUALLY DELIVERED, is NOT a significant amount in a scam that will cost over 16 thousand million pounds at December 2008 prices. Most of the cost will be borne by ordinary people paying extra taxes. Also, the 'local' Tower Hamlets Council has given planning permission in effect for property speculation. And land acquisition. This is NOT wealth creation.

Crossrail-hole-Minister Alistair Darling's ‘plea’ to Khoodeelaar!
© The Author / Khoodeelaar / CBRUK /lawmedia 2006 | 04.03.2006 14:49 | Analysis | Indymedia | Social Struggles | London | World
UK Transport Secretary Alistair Darling MP has had his Department for Transport [DfT] write to the Khoodeelaar! Campaign in the East End of London against the Crassrail hole Bill as part of a strategy to salvage the careers of the controlling Blairite Tower Hamlets Council. Khoodeelaar! held another powerful demonstration against that Council on Wednesday 1 March 2006.
The 1 March 2006 Khoodeelaar! No to Crossrail hole Council demo was supported by RESPECT coalition MP George Galloway and by the main Opposition on Tower Hamlets Council, the Liberal Democrats. At the Council meeting that followed the same evening, Lib Dem councillor Louise Alexander sought to have Tower Hamlets show recognition to the community and to identify with the community in opposing the Crassrail hole plan attacks Bill.
The controlling clique failed to recognize the momentous importance of the motion and they even jeered at Councillor Alexander part of the time that she was presenting her arguments in support of the motion.
The only other non-Lib Dem councillor who supporter Louise Alexander was the RESPECT councillor Oliur Rahman
In his speech at the Khoodeelaar! demonstration earlier in the evening, Oliur Rahman described the controlling clique on Tower Hamlets Council as crooks and vowed to do everything he and his colleagues could do to remove them from office at the scheduled 4 May 2006 council elections.
What Alistair Darling, the UK Crossrail hole {Transport] Minister, is doing to ‘help’ salvage the sinking careers of the controlling clique on Tower Hamlets Council facing the wrath of the people determined to stop the Crossrail hole attacks on the East End of London
A khoodeelaaronline report 1420 Hrs GMT Saturday 4 March 2006
UK Transport [Crossrail hole-Bill] Minister Alistair Darling, MP, makes another lame plea to Khoodeelaar! on behalf of Tower Hamlets Council !
Alistair Darling’s Department for Transport ahs sent a letter by email on Friday 3 March 2006 to Khoodeelaar organiser Muhammad Haque.
Crossrail-hole-Bill promoter Alistair Darling MP has not yet cottoned on to the fact that the East End community opposition to our area being devastated is not a temporary affair.
This opposition will continue and will grow. The only solution to this is for Darling to drop the whole Crossrail hole plot. To scarp the Crossrail hole Bill and to start again. Without a hole against our community. Without a hole in our community.
Nor has Alistair Darling understood the fact that he cannot get away with breaking the very laws on whose existence in the UK statute book he relies for his legitimacy as a bona fide member of a bona fide ‘democratic’ Government with claims to expect the community to abide by decisions that that Government makes.
Darling had his Department for Transport [DfT] write to Khoodeelaar! Organiser Muhammad Haque in February 2006.
In that communication the DfT made the plea that the London Borough of Tower Hamlets Council had been in touch with the DfT and that the DfT was listening to the Council over concerns on the Crossrail hole problems.
That communication was intended to ‘reassure’ the Khoodeelaar! Campaign organisation that Tower Hamlets Council was ‘indeed’ representing the concerns and the opposition of the local community against the Crossrail hole.
There cannot be any ‘reassurance’ on that at all unless there is incontrovertible, categorical and unconditional resolution by the full Council saying No to Crossrail hole attacks on the East End.
And that evidence could have been produced by the ruling clique on Tower Hamlets Council on Wednesday 1 March 2006.
The Council ignored the opportunity.
The ruling clique on Tower Hamlets Council squandered that opportunity.
The ruling clique on Tower Hamlets Council showed contempt to that opportunity.
Tower Hamlets Council ‘leadership’ of Michael Keith is so contemptuous of the people in the Borough that it fabricated a bureaucratic scenario which it then used to waste as long as three hours of vital council meeting time.
They did that to defuse the power of the argument typified in the motion formally put to the council by [Lib Dem] councillor Louise Alexander asking for the Council to show that it had woken up to the dangers posed by the Crossrail hole to the East End community.
That Alistair Darling ploy will not work because there is nothing in the hundreds of A4 pages of ‘statements’ ‘positions’ and ‘explanations’ so far published about the Crossrail plan by or in the name of or at the behest of the controlling clique on the London Borough of Tower Hamlets Council which shows any sign that Tower Hamlets Council is being ‘led’ or ‘controlled’ by tellers of the truth.
Those who have been in control of the Tower Hamlets Council do not tell the truth and they do not recognise the truth when we in the community tell it.
And nothing has been more staggering as a confirmation of the Tower Hamlets Council’s illegitimate but actual ‘leadership’s inability to tell the truth than their behaviour on Crossrail hole over the past three years.
Tower Hamlets Council’s ‘controlling clique’ has lied to the community in the past three years and falsely claimed that the Crossrail hole plan would ‘bring benefits’ to the community.
How could the Crossrail hole plan bring ‘benefits’ unless the controlling clique had taken total leave of its senses!
Digging a hole in the Brick Lane London E1` area could not bring any benefits
Digging a hole could also trigger off all kinds of unforeseeable but possible environmental disasters linked with remains of devises that might be lying buried there from the 1940s war time bombing in the East End.
Digging a hole in the Woodseer street is no different at all from digging a hole in the Hanbury Street or in the Princelet street.
Digging a hole entails a thousand other assaults that will be made on the lives of thousands of people in the East End.
For no reason.
There is no economic reason for doing that.
There is no social reason for doing that.
There is no environmental reason for doing that.
There is no justification whatever for doing or wanting to do any of the Crossrail-hole things in any part of the London borough of Tower Hamlets.
So why are the Tower Hamlets Council so adamant that they openly lie to the community?
Alistair Darling’s DfT letter to Muhammad Haque on Friday 3 March 2006 repeats essentially the same line that the DfT has been in receipt of information from the London borough of Tower Hamlets Council.
But nothing about the allegations that khoodeelaar! had been making against the lying clique on Tower Hamlets Council and including the serious allegation supported by documentary evidence that that clique had abused its control over the constitutional and the elected entity of Tower Hamlets Council.
Alistair Darling’s DfT letter to Khoodeelaar on Friday 3 March 2006 does not deal with the Khoodeelaar! demand for action by the DfT against the liars over the Crossrail hole plan.
The DfT [constitutionally responsible MP is Alistair Darling ] letter to Khoodeelaar contains further pretence of its ignorance of the khoodeelaar representations of the past 26 months about the lying clique in control of the Council in their bid to promote the agenda of the Crossrail promoting vested interests.
The key facts contained in the past 26 months of the Khoodeelaar representations to both the DfT and to the offices of the UK Prime Minister and the UK Finance Minister [Chancellor of the Exchequer] have been about the role of the identified members of the controlling clique on Tower Hamlets Council.
The key role and the key culpable conduct – misconduct - by those identified members of that clique on Tower Hamkest Council has been the brazen lies that the clique have told to local people in the Brick Lane London E1 area.
They lied in that they never told the community that a Crossrail hole plan was even being discussed by the Council for YEARS.
They lied when the community got to know about that and the Khoodeelaar! movement against the hole plan began to take form in January 2004.
They lied when they then said that they did not know what the plan was.
They lied when they said that the campaign against the hole was doing nothing but spreading unnecessary scares
They lied when they then claimed that the khoodeelaar! campaign against the Crossrail hole was not dealing with ‘regeneration’ ‘benefits’ that the Crossrail hole would bring to the Brick Lane London E1 area..
They lied when they stayed silent to questions that khoodeelaar! put to them.
They lied when they then contrived with the employees of the Tower Hamlets Council including Christine Gilbert the Council’s chief Executive, to arrange to block emails being sent from the campaign against the Crossrail hole.

KHOODEELAAR! review of the campaign against the Big business agenda Crossrail scam in the calendar year 2008
1905 Hrs GMT London Wednesday 24 December 2008:
KHOODEELAAR! review of the campaign against the Big business agenda Crossrail scam in the calendar year 2008 continuing with a look, to be published here in the next hours, at the role played 'on Crossrail' by the 'local MP' for the Bethnal Green and Bow constituency George Galloway... In the same set of articles, we shall also continue to look at two other 'locally-linked’ ‘political’ elements - the 'local Council' and the 'local' 'press'..... ALL of those that are and or have been doing their relevant trade, business or profession IN THE NAME of the area and the community that KHOODEELAAR! has been defending for the past 5 years and as against the onslaught of Big Business and their surrogates, stooges and players in position of power, decision-making...…
Have THOSE place-,men and place-women that are on the ‘local’ Tower Hamlets Council, and ‘doing the media’ and the parliamentary stuff doing the right things or doing anything at all about the community as affected by the conduct, preferences, decisions made for Big business agenda and in particular as evident in the contents of the plan for a Crossrail hole scam.…What, for instance, does it mean to be a John Biggs? As KHOODEELAAR! pointed out in 2005, that name is misleading... Politically speaking, of course... John Biggs has no respect for transparency, he has no resect for accountability... yet he props up here and there poking alleged questions in the direction of someone that can be found to be in the Onion on the south bank of the river Themes in London... What is the point of having John Biggs claim so much access to so much cash and privilege in the name of East London??? What does he know of the area he claims to ‘represent’? Does he DO anything to speak out, against lies and lying and for the truth ? Other than appearing in the most undemocratic, unaccountable, stale sheets that bear his name from time to time, what does John Biggs do for democracy, accountability, transparency, human rights, justice and against corruption, opportunism, time-serving and Big Business???

KHOODEELAAR has been telling Brown for years that peddling the Big Business conglomerates’ agenda of Crossrail as a ‘guaranteed way to win votes’ was irresponsible callous and wasteful.
And that when ALL sectors of society are experiencing dire shortage of necessary investments and expenditure, putting £Billions into project like Crossrail that was economically a wasteland, was irresponsibility epitomised
It was also foolish…
And there is no sign anywhere that the people EVER asked for a scam like Crossrail….
Yet the London public will be landed with a significant sum in taxes to fund Crossrail.
Where IS Crossrail journey taking Brown?
More aptly, where are the London travelling public going to on Crossrail in 10 years time?
As I have been pointing out FOR YEARS, there must be a secret society or club in operation where any discussion of the need, justification, costs and implications of Crossrail are concerned...For whenever the scam is mentioned by the ‘mainstream they suspend all criteria of caution, responsibility and prudence and abandon the most basic of rigours of analysis
As is typified in the piece that the Veronica Wadley/Anne McElvoy-fronted London EVENING nostandards STANDARD’ carried on Monday 22 December 2008 with the by-line of Jo Valentine urging Boris Johnson to behave EVEN more irresponsibly....

Brown bounce over, new poll shows
The end of Gordon Brown's recession revival has been indicated in a new poll which shows firm opposition to Labour's planned tax rises.

Polls show a fall in support for the Government in the last month Photo: GETTY
A ComRes survey for The Independent puts the Conservatives up two points on 39 per cent and Labour on 34 per cent, down two, with the Liberal Democrats on 16 per cent, down one point.
It confirms the findings of a YouGov poll for the Daily Telegraph at the weekend, which put the gap between the two main parties at seven points, and also showed a fall in support for the Government over the last month.
Due to the complexities of the voting system, if the ComRes poll was duplicated at a General Election, Labour would remain the largest party but 30 seats short of an overall majority.
By a clear margin, the poll shows that the public opposes the tax rises unveiled in last month's Pre-Budget Report.
Asked how they would vote if the Tories committed themselves to a promise not to raise taxes and a lower level of public spending than the Government, 49 per cent of voters said that they would back the Conservatives, 29 per cent Labour and 11 per cent Liberal Democrat.
The poll's findings mark the end of the "Brown bounce" which saw the Prime Minister experience a brief revival in response to his perceived adept handling of the credit crisis.
ComRes telephoned 1,000 adults on December 19 to 21. Data weighted by past vote recall.

KHOODEELAAR! updater evidence of the bankruptcy of regulation - that is the UK Parliament in permanent denial and stagnation [408]
1020 Hrs GMT London Monday 22 December 2008:
Muhammad Haque tells London Timesonline:
For the over-hyped 'tougher regulation' of capitalism and free market to be reality, there has got to be manifest, transparent, continuous vigilance by ‘democratic institutions’, the foremost of which should be the elected parliament. So why isn't the UK parliament in rigorous sessions on the mega challenge caused by absence of accountability ?

KHOODEELAAR! updater examination of the poverty of the peddlers of 'child poverty': they HIDE true poverty [207]
POVERTY in Britain and the poverty of the Brown-fronted Blairing regime that is maintaining poverty in the UK today more brazenly than Brown would ever admit
By © Muhammad Haque
0920 hrs GMT
London Monday 22 December 2008
Talking about ‘child poverty’ by definition excludes discussion of poverty as a whole. That is why the correct term to use is ‘poverty’. Not just ‘child poverty’. So why do the Blaired ‘professionals’ holding the positions on ‘combatting’ ‘poverty’ refuse to use the single word poverty? The answer is to be found in the fact that they are essentially in denial. And in deep ignorance. The half of their dishonest ‘term’ is on many levels misleading. ‘Child’ may sound like the call for care, compassion and delicacy with the fragility of the vulnerable. But this is a confidence trick. Like so many of the terms they use, this [‘child poverty’] is to dress themselves up as a party [with a small p] dedicated to upholding the needs and the rights of the ‘more vulnerable and needy’. The word ‘child’ carries so much instant positive recognition of all things good or at least innocent.…. As different from the whole family.. The neighbourhood. The community. The population... That would be a daunting reality. That one the peddlers of concern on ‘child poverty’ dare not face up to, let alone deal with...
When the entire population is organised in a way that CAUSES poverty, imposes poverty, adds to poverty, it is little wonder that children in it are in poverty.….
By the population I am here referring to that part of the population that is the target of poverty causation, poverty imposition, poverty addition...
The parts that are to be found in the inner cities in the UK.
There are people in poverty in the other parts of the UK populations and conurbation.
But the incidence, the spread, the perpetration and the persistence of poverty in the inner cities areas are so high, frequent and noticeable that a discussion of poverty in Britain today would be done more comprehensively and accurately by looking at the inner cities than by looking at the other areas where poverty also does exist.
Tower Hamlets in the East End of London is of course the London borough that contains most of the features of inner city poverty.…

'Bethnal Green and Bow MP' George Galloway hints at return to Scotland
By © Muhammad Haque
1840 Hrs GMT London Sunday 21 December 2008
George Galloway, MP for Bethnal Green and Bow in the UK House of Commons since 2005, has dropped a clear hint that he may not stand as a candidate for Parliament from London again.
The hint is contained in a Scottish news web site today.
The apparent, and topical context of Galloway’s reported intention to return to Scotland to try to become an MP from there again, is the reported role played by Glasgow MP and current speaker of the UK House of Commons Michael Martin in the parliamentary aspects of the recent Metropolitan police raid on, search and arrest of the Conservative Party MP and that Party’s immigration affairs spokesperson Damian Green.
Galloway has made several statements over the issue after it became obvious that the Police conduct had been condemned by the widest possible spread of opinions in the UK.
Galloway has been involved in a personal exchanges with Michael Martin over the particular decision made to exclude Galloway from the UK House of Commons during 2007.
But Galloway has made a point in the past that he still supported Martin, citing the various comments made from a particularly nasty Right-wing snobbish section.
Over the issue of the widely ;perceived and wrong role by Martin on the police behaviour towards 'the MP' Damian Green, Galloway has stated that this incident had been a catalyst, definitively confirming that Martin was no longer deserving of his support.
Galloway’s latest expression of a deep yarning to return to Scotland is not isolated. He has been in close touch with a number of people since being ousted from the Party that Blair sabotaged. One of those has been the highly controversial Tommy Sheridan. The other has been Galloway’ s involvement with the Daily Record which has been carrying a once weekly [Mondays] column with Galloway's by-line.
It has been consistently reported that Galloway has a small number of associates and or friends in London all of whom come from Scotland. One of those is of course Ron McKay.
In the recent [‘positive’] ‘reversals’ in the electoral fortunes of the Blaired Party as fronted by Gordon Brown, George Galloway has appeared to be interested in letting Alex Salmond of the SNP know that Galloway could be ready to bury part of the hatchet with the Blairing mafia in the country.
So it is possible that Galloway may still find it worth his while to review his entire party political prospects and prospectus in new lights...
This may appear contradictory, given that Michael Martin will still be the official candidate for the Blaired party, but Galloway may be tempted to try out his own links with the ‘grassroots’ in Glasgow and in the adjacent electoral neighborhoods …
Which takes this commentary back to the stated Battle of the Scots that Galloway had promised in the direction of Jim Fitzpatrick, the OTHER current MP for a Tower Hamlets seat in the UK House of Commons..…
What would have been the chances of Galloway succeeding in moving Fitzpatrick k off his perch? Those chances would have been difficult to garner into a successful outcome for Galloway the challenger... especially in view o the fact that Fitzpatrick has got in his ‘political pocket’ the longest list of ‘ethnicity linked’ individuals who ALSO claim to ‘control’ the votes of the various small units of Bangladeshi voters in the Borough.,… And Fitzpatrick also knows that even that would not guarantee him a neat retention at the polls.….So Fitzpatrick has been making himself available whenever he feels any movement in his political kitchen.…. Fitzpatrick in Tower Hamlets is probably the only ‘Ministerial post-holder’ who has been cited as ‘a mate’ by the largest number of political nonentities who would otherwise not merit a mention let alone a credit in a rigorous and reasonable world
But Tower Hamlets is not represented in rigorous and reasonable way by either by Fitzpatrick or by the corrupt clique in control of Tower Hamlets Council.…
BOTH feed off each other.
The agenda of politics in Tower Hamlets as far as those who are in post in the Council and in the Brown-fronted Blaired administration centrally go, is one of brazen pettiness and opportunism. No ethics. No morality.
At a time when civil liberties are under severe threat from Brown-fronted cabal that is driving out of public life all the various [albeit limited and still tentative] institutions and safeguards of a pro-democracy society that was built in Britain after centuries of battles and sacrifice by ordinary people, the truth is that there is no point in asking Brown to deliver democracy.
He has missed the point about the outrage that greeted the surveillance, raid and arrest of Damian Green.
Brown is set to presume that the USA, post the outcome of the formal 4 November 2008 votes, will continue to follow the anti-democracy agenda over the rest of the world and that no matter what the adjustments are that the over-hyped Obama fronted regime may make domestically the world view of the USA would support a pro-imperialistic, pro-racist line.
That is why Brown is set to continue along the authoritarian path. And the Tory party, notwithstanding Damian Green affair and notwithstanding David Davis, will go along with Brown.
When it comes to the USA, the ‘British incumbent at No 10 Downing street’ and any shadow - whether shadowy or halfway straight - is very much behind the collective image of the USA.….
That attitude is very bad for democracy. And for civil liberty. And for the economy.
And that is where the real surrender of parliament is taking place..

Galloway is furious that Martin has not quit over his failure to keep police probing Tory Damian Green out of the Commons.
And he is considering standing against him in Glasgow North East at the next general election - breaking the convention that the Speaker is elected unopposed.
Galloway, who represents London's Bethnal Green and Bow for his own Respect party, said: "People have been approaching me about it and it is wise in politics never to say never. Speculation is exaggerated, which means it isn't ruled out and isn't ruled in.
"I was a Glasgow MP for almost 20 years. I miss Glasgow a lot and if I was to do this that would be one of the attractions."
Galloway, who was expelled from Labour over his anti-war views, has been a strong supporter of Martin, accusing MPs who call the Speaker "Gorbals Mick" of snobbery.
But he believes Martin, who has indicated he wants a third term as Speaker, is beyond saving over his handling of the Green affair.

Investors reel from Madoff shock
US authorities have ordered the liquidation of Mr Madoff's firm
The list of investors and banks hit by an alleged $50bn (£33bn) fraud by US trader Bernard Madoff is growing.
Leading Spanish, British and Japanese banks say they could be facing losses of billions of dollars.
Other victims include film director Stephen Spielberg's Wunderkinder Foundation charity.
US authorities have ordered the liquidation of the trader's brokerage firm, Bernard L Madoff Investment Securities of New York.
Mr Madoff, who was arrested on Thursday, has been charged with fraud in what is being described as one of the biggest-ever such cases.
He ran a fund that paid annual interest of about 10% but prosecutors say it was, in effect, a pyramid scheme, with money from new investors paying off old ones.
Shares fall
Banks and financial institutions across the world had investments with Bernard Madoff, but not all have yet confirmed what their potential losses might be.
WHAT IS A PONZI SCHEME?
A fraudulent investment scheme paying investors from money paid in by other investors rather than real profits
Named after Charles Ponzi who notoriously used the technique in the United States in 1903
Differs from pyramid selling in that individuals all tend to invest with the same person
Madoff millions vanish
Among the potential losers is Spain's largest bank, Santander, which owns the UK High Street banks Abbey, Alliance & Leicester and Bradford & Bingley.
The bank had a direct exposure of 17m euros ($23m; £15m), but clients of its Optimal fund management unit have another 2.3bn euros invested in the firm run by Bernard Madoff.
Japanese financial giant Nomura said it could lose up to $303m.
Britain's HSBC said it had investments of about $1bn that could be affected.
Royal Bank of Scotland said it could potentially lose about £400m if all its investments had to be written off.
The French bank, Natixis, a subsidiary of Caisse d'Epargne and Banque Populaire, said it could potentially lose up to 450m euros.
MAJOR POTENTIAL LOSSES
Clients of Santander, Spain - $3.1bn
HSBC, UK - $1bn
Natixis, France - $605m
Royal Bank of Scotland, UK - $601m
BNP Paribas, France - $460m
BBVA, Spain - $400m
Man Group, UK - $360m
Reichmuth & Co, Switzerland - $325m
Nomura, Japan - $303m
One of the world's biggest investment groups, Man, said it had invested about $360m through its RMF institutional fund of funds business, representing 0.5% of its total funds.
Banking shares fell around the world on Monday, with Royal Bank of Scotland dropping 3.7%, HSBC losing 1.2% and US banks making up the top four losers on New York's Dow Jones Industrial Average.
Some of the biggest private losers seem to have been members of the Palm Beach country club, where many of Mr Madoff's wealthy clients were recruited.
Charities suffer
However, the collapse of Mr Madoff's firm is also having an impact far beyond the world of the wealthy private investors - many charities have been hit.
FROM THE TODAY PROGRAMME
More from Today programme
"It's devastating to people and communities and lives," said Deborah Coltin, of the Robert I Lappin charitable foundation in Massachusetts. It sponsors Jewish educational programmes, but is now being forced to close because of the collapse.
The New York-based JEHT foundation, said it was freezing all its grants and would shut by the end of January. The group is funded by one couple, Jeanne and Kenneth Levy-Church, whose personal investments were managed by Mr Madoff.
Mark Mulholland, a lawyer representing some of those who invested in the scheme, warned that the fraud could be bigger than the Enron scandal of 2001.
"We think the impact on the financial community is ultimately going to be bigger than Enron. This is staggering, it's extraordinary, it's breathtaking what has happened here," he said.
High returns promised
US prosecutors say Mr Madoff, a former head of the Nasdaq stock market, masterminded a fraud of massive proportions through his hedge fund and investment advisory business.
The collapse of Madoff is likely to accelerate the disappearance of hedge funds

Mr Madoff is alleged to have used money from new investors to pay off existing investors in the fund.
A federal judge has appointed a receiver to oversee Mr Madoff firm's assets and customer accounts, while the 70-year-old banker was released on $10m bail.
Mr Madoff founded Bernard L Madoff Investment Securities in 1960, but also ran a separate hedge fund business.
According to the US Attorney's criminal complaint filed in court, Mr Madoff told at least three employees on Wednesday that the hedge fund business - which served up to 25 clients and had $17.1bn under management - was a fraud and had been insolvent for years.
He said he was "finished", that he had "absolutely nothing" and "it's all just one big lie", and that it was "basically, a giant Ponzi scheme", the complaint said.
If found guilty, US prosecutors say he could face up to 20 years in prison and a fine of up to $5m.

KHOODEELAAR! told you so! Crossrail scam-linked Canary Wharf Big mythology is unravelling ... fast
2100 Hrs GMT London Monday 15 December 2008: KHOODEELAAR! TOLD YOU SO!
That Crossrail was a flawed project. Seriously flawed. So seriously that we called it CRASS, as far back as 2004.… We have, in the 4 years between then and now, also showed that the ‘reason’ why the Crossrail hole-inviter clique on Tower Hamlets Council participated in the peddling of the fabrication that ‘Canary Wharf’ was a place where ‘money was to be made, big money, big time’ [!!!!] and thus [for the clique on Tower Hamlets Council] to be able to parade the FURTHER lie that that Canary Wharf BiG money would ‘trickle down’ and reach [at least] some of the ‘most deprived’ in the ordinary parts of Tower Hamlets, was to be found in the corrupt composition and purpose of that unaccountable clique.…..
.Now, as KHOODEELAAR! has been warning, CANARY WHARF is coming apart in front of our very eyes.……
The mythology of big money is coming apart.……. But are the peddlers of Crossrail taking any notice of this reality? Not really.. They are as frenetic in their indulgence in lying now as they were in June 2003.…
They are saying that Crossrail will indeed become reality.. They are defiant... They even sent Owen Whalley to be part of a parade of Crossrail fanatics, staged in central London, where they uttered any amount of irrationality...Like the daily contradictions and crassness about Heathrow, the Canary Wharf Conundrum is at the centre of the crassness of Crossrail.…As the fakers citadel comes down, the fakers get even more insane with their illogical, unsubstantiated defiance against the truth.… The only time and the only pressure they will recognise will be when they are really wholly and truly in the hole that they are wantonly digging with Crossrail.…

TfL! Ken Livingstone's Handy man Peter Hendy confirms that Crossrail is being used now to serve another CRASS role!

TfL cuts jobs in restructure to save £2.4bn

But chief Hendy says Crossrail could provide new roles for some redundant staff
The boss of Transport for London (TfL) has detailed a major restructure of the organisation designed to save £2.4bn over the next 10 years.
Peter Hendy, TfL commissioner, told staff on Friday that he plans to make a “number of changes to TfL's structure” which will result in a “significant reduction in jobs” at the London transport directorate.
Hendy said these changes will be managed “as much as possible” through the removal of vacant roles and transfer of staff into roles previously filled by temporary staff. Managers will be expected to use in-house staff rather than external consultants.
The Docklands Light Railway, the planned extension of which to Barking was recently axed
The plans include the merging of a number of back-office systems and processes, including those of the former London Underground infrastructure company Metronet, which went into administration and was taken over by TfL in July last year.
The move follows the announcement in November by London mayor Boris Johnson of the capital's 10-year, £39bn transport strategy. This axed several major transport schemes promoted by former mayor Ken Livingstone, including plans for a tram along Oxford Street, an extension to the Docklands Light Railway to Barking and a new bridge over the Thames in east London.
However, Hendy also told TfL staff that the delivery of Crossrail will create a “significant number of jobs” and that as many staff as possible will be found new roles on that project.

KHOODEELAAR! No to Tower Hamlets Council collusion with POVERTY-CREATING Crossrail agenda…

KHOODEELAAR! No to Tower Hamlets Council collusion with POVERTY-CREATING Crossrail agenda…
Texts [below] of the formal KHOODEELAAR! objections, as contained in the Agenda for Tower Hamlets Council’s full meeting on Wednesday 17 December 2008. KHOODEELAAR! historical note on campaign against role of Tower Hamlets Council.….on Wednesday 1 March 2006, the then Councillor [for the Weavers ward] Louise Alexander tabled a motion against the Crossrail hole plan… Her motion was in essence the same as the demand of the Khoodeelaar! campaign. For party reasons, Louise Alexander’s motion was slightly different, only in parts. The rest of the motion was identical to Khoodeelaar! The controlling clique at the meeting of 1 March 2006 orchestrated a manifestly dishonest ploy in order to prevent Louise Alexander’s motion against Crossrail hole from being debated in the Council Chamber. That event has not been reversed by any of the meetings that have taken place since then. No councillor, from any identifiable political grouping or party, has come forward with a motion against Crossrail holes scam.… This may appear to be insignificant.. Until we point out the fact that ALL the councillors on Tower Hamlets Council were going out of their way to appear on TV.….. And say that they OPPOSED the Crossrail holes attacks on the community! THEY all said or suggested or implied that THEY ALL OPPOSED the Crossrail hole attacks on the community.…When were they doing that? They were doing that in January 2006.… [To be continued]

“We the undersigned electors, residents, traders and work and community and socially-related daily and regular visitors of the area known as the London Borough of Tower Hamlets support this formal petition organised by the Khoodeelaar! Campaign as per the constitutional rights of the community – against the planned Crossrail holes and other implied and foreseeable attacks on the East End of London – to the ‘local’ Tower Hamlets Borough Council for that Council’s formal decision-making at and via the scheduled ‘meeting of the full council’ on 17 December 2008. We support ALL the written and other communicated questions, queries, demands and representations as made to Tower Hamlets Council by KHOODEELAAR! And we support the latest updated contents and implications and demands of the same campaign as made to all the relevant employees, officers and members of the said Tower Hamlets Council between January 2004 and now, November 2008. KHOODEELAAR! update on Crossrail hole scam inviter Christine Gilbert's CURRENT performance
KHOODEELAAR! update on Christine Gilbert, chief executive of Crossrail hole scam-inviter Tower Hamlets Council [until 2006 when she was salvaged by the OFSTED job under the auspices of Tony Blair]
When Christine Gilbert appeared before MPs during the week, she confirmed everything Khoodeelaar! had identified about her role in the undemocracy that is Tower Hamlets Council. She also exhibited a most significant lack of recollection. Although she said it quite fast and as a less than important semi-excuse, she did give in to the weight of truth. At THAT MOMENT. She said she had been chief executive of a local authority for [number of years] and then she said ‘can’t remember’;… before saying a number of years...None of the MPs was shown to have spotted that. KHOODEELAAR! did spot that. And we shall be examining Christine Gilbert’s appearance before Barry Sheerman’s [Chair] select committee...

KHOODEELAAR! points out the crass, degeneration effect brought about by the peddlers of a 'Crossrail' scam in Scotalnd...
0545 Hrs GMT London Saturday 13 December 2008:
KHOODEELAAR! TOLD YOU SO! That the word ‘Crossrail’ has been crafted and contrived in the pattern of brainwashing game.. As far as the CURRENT round of touting goes, the touts for Big Business conglomerates who are behind the idea of tossing £Billions around [to borrow a phrase from the week’s headlines!!!!] irrespective of the fact that this would ADD to debts in the public sector, thus forcing tax rises that could otherwise be avoided and should be avoided, have been deployed to flick the word ‘Crossrail’ into the unequal, uneconomic bargain as if it were a rationally thought component in a rationally and responsibly worked out equation. What the touts of ‘Crossrail’ have been up to in Scotland shows that the word’Crossrail’ has a currency solely to do with the ‘Crossrail ion London’.
And so they are applying that word to peddle the agenda that is a minor form of that which the Big Business touts have been peddling in relation to the London Crossrail… IN doing sop, the peddlers in Scotland have been behaving just as crassly as the original crass conceivers of the London Crossrail have been doing…. The Scottish peddlers are using phrases that are taken straight from the London Crossrail lobby littering the propaganda spaces in the public domain…..Like ‘business case’. Even through the notion of a ‘business case’ was promoted in the lying promotion of Crossrail in London [fronted by Adrian Montague and aided and abetted by vested interest in the transport lobby ] with an almost partial plausibility and with manifest lack of credibility, the same notion is being applied in an even more brazen way in Scotland by the peddlers of the smaller Crossrail scam over in Scotland…From the latest peddling as carried by the Glasgow Herald, the touting for a Crossrail in Scotland is being done on the assumption that ordinary people whop would have heard or been in receipt of the propaganda about London Crossrail and assorted phrases, would be open to brainwashing for a Crossrail in Scotland and that the process of brainwashing will be triggered by the inclusion of the words that they are already familiar with… No matter how additionally crass they may be….
KHOODEELAAR! Finds this propensity to be another item of the Degeneration of ordinary language and concepts…
We find on the evidence that the peddlers of a Crossrail in Scotland are engaged in the DEGENERATION of what in a school of economics used to be known as the DEMONSTRATION EFFECT……..
This is imitation of a crass ‘model’ in an even crasser way than the imitated one..[To be continued]

Since markets took a turn for the worse in September, there has been a chorus of calls for a Pan-European response. Most of those proposals have been vetoed by a group of countries led by Germany, the European Union's biggest economy and leading paymaster, on whose back many of these costs would fall. Leading the German defense has been Peer Steinbrück, the Social Democratic finance minister in Chancellor Angela Merkel's cabinet. Speaking with NEWSWEEK's Stefan Theil at the Finance Ministry in Berlin, Steinbrück explains why he doesn't like any of the proposals he's seen.
Theil: You're facing a lot of criticism inside and outside Germany, particularly from France and the EU Commission, that you should do more to fight the crisis.
Steinbrück: We have a bidding war where everyone in politics believes they have to top up every spending program that's been put to discussion. I say we should be honest to our citizens. Policies can take some of the sharpness out of it, but no matter how much any government does, the recession we are in now is unavoidable. When I look at the chaotic and volatile debate right now, both in Germany and around the world, my impression and concern is that the daily barrage of proposals and political statements is making markets and consumers even more nervous. Still, Brussels is pressing for a joint European approach. For a while the position in Brussels and a few other places has been "We're now very much for setting up large-scale spending programs, but we're not really going to ask what the exact effects of those might be. And since the amounts are so high, well, let's get the Germans to pay because they can." Ms. Merkel and I are trying to calm them down a bit just now, and understandably that's getting us criticized.
What is wrong with the stimulus proposals?
The speed at which proposals are put together under pressure that don't even pass an economic test is breathtaking and depressing. Our British friends are now cutting their value-added tax. We have no idea how much of that stores will pass on to customers. Are you really going to buy a DVD player because it now costs £39.10 instead of £39.90? All this will do is raise Britain's debt to a level that will take a whole generation to work off. The same people who would never touch deficit spending are now tossing around billions. The switch from decades of supply-side politics all the way to a crass Keynesianism is breathtaking. When I ask about the origins of the crisis, economists I respect tell me it is the credit-financed growth of recent years and decades. Isn't this the same mistake everyone is suddenly making again, under all the public pressure?
Doesn't an unprecedented crisis call for unprecedented measures?
It's the yearning for the Great Rescue Plan. It doesn't exist. It doesn't exist! Dealing with an unprecedented crisis is a puzzle, a trial-and-error. Honestly, I don't know. I tend to be skeptical because it is human nature to see the crisis as even worse than it is. I don't want to downplay anything; 2009 looks like it will be a very difficult year. But we are not about to collapse. We are just about to ratify our €31 billion stimulus in Parliament. As long as we haven't even given that a chance to work, I am not going to participate in this bidding war over who can do the most. I try to exude a little steadiness and continuity instead.
What entails the greater risk to the economy: not acting now before the pain gets worse or the negative consequences of overspending now?
I don't think anyone knows. Making political decisions means taking responsibility in an environment of uncertainty. When in doubt, I'd say the risk is greater of burning money without significant effects and in the end having a budget weighed down with even more debt. For me the only stimulus measures that make sense are those that create jobs and have a positive structural effect beyond the economic cycle. One should wait to see how what we have agreed on now works before one thinks about readjusting.
How will the crisis redistribute global power? Surely Frankfurt won't replace New York or London as a financial capital just because Germany's banking system looks relatively stable.
I don't expect any immediate, visible shifts. But when we look back in 2018, we will see that the world has become more multipolar, more heterogeneous. The U.S. is exceedingly dynamic, has tremendous flexibility, mobility and energy, and has so far come out of every economic hole faster than we in Old Europe. There is no reason they shouldn't come out of the current situation faster, too. America will continue to play a dominant role, but there will be others who also have a role, in Asia obviously. Europe will have to search for and find its future role. The financial summit in Washington was a symbol. Do you really think that you're going to get these debates from a G20 format back down to the G7? I'm rather skeptical.
The economic crisis shows once again that Europe has a leadership problem.
Europe is difficult to coordinate, and our main deficit may not even lie in this area of finance and economics, but in foreign and security policy. We have a leadership problem because we are still 27 different members who have still not decided on how to work with each other based on what we used to call a European constitution.
As Europe's biggest economy and the world's leading exporter, wouldn't it be in Germany's interest to take more of a leadership role in this economic crisis?
I'm ambivalent about leadership. That Germany makes its contribution, that our capabilities are neither underestimated nor overestimated, I can live with that.

BBC fails to tell the truth about the poverty creation programme fronted by Purnell...

10 December 2008
What the BBC has broadcast so far today [Wednesday 10 December 2008 when Poverty-Creation Minister James Purnell produced yet another ‘white paper’ for poverty and social exclusion] about the Parasite package peddled in parliament by Purnell does not amount to factual reporting.
And the BBC is yet to justify bringing on the TV screens Tony McNulty again as an alleged representative of the Brown Government and a specially ‘knowledgeable’ one on the subject of alleged work-shy and the alleged number of job vacancies. Why does the BBC have to justify doing so?
Answer: Because McNulty was allowed to utter waffle.
No substance whatever was found in what McNulty uttered.. And this became clear when he was caught out about the sole item that the BBC HAD done its home work on...
And that caused McNulty to deny to Jane Hill [BBC News Channel] the report that at least one woman had been asked to return the poverty credit that she had been paid....
The BBC has got as many as THREE editors on the subject of the economic situation and the political response to it and yet between them the BBC editors concerned have not shown that they can produce a complete report that both represents the facts and also covers the Purnell parasitic Package for what it is...
They have changed presenters or reporters but the item has remained the same. In essence...The BBC have not done the necessary home wok on the Tory Grayling either...And they have not examined the Lib Dem’s packaged alternative either. [To be continued]
