When I say that “LIES for Big Business Crossrail [as] perpetrated via the UK Parliament! ”, is there any doubt as to what I am meaning to say here in ordinary day to day communication?
I have said for the past [now nearly] 5 years of the Khoodeelaar! campaign against the London Crossrail hole scam that the UK HOUSES OF PARLIAMENT were being misled, misused and misplaced for and by the Big Business agenda touts.
Those touts may not look as if they were touts.
But they are. These particular touts dress as ‘professionals’. But that is the only difference. Their dress. Their packaging. Their labelling. Their physical, propaganda and cultural myths Myths that are lies from start to finish. Through the ages. across the ages. Through generations. To degeneration.
Inside, they are just as low and just as corrupt, just as dishonest as the other, ‘run of the mill’ touts whose collective, generic image is conjured up in the mind whenever the concept and the words of touting are used.
Touting being the lowliest of ‘professional’ ‘jobs’, lowers the standard of the life affected by the conduct. At BOTH sides of the equation.
ANY randomly selected incident of encounters between KHOODEELAAR! and the holder of any post at the local ‘democratic’ level through to the UK Houses of Parliament, will show beyond any universally reasonable doubt that the touts in posts are being totally treacherous against the public.
Against the ideals of democracy. And against all the principles of accountability, honesty, transparency, ethics, ethicality that EVEN THEY routinely claim adherence to.

Within minutes of our last update being put on the internet, we have come across the Tory MP Justine Greening making a statement to the BBC, saying very clearly that Gordon Brown had caused the problems that ‘we are having to deal with’ [the CURRENt ‘crisis’] How very odd! Because Boris Johnson, as the successor to Crossrail hole plot-peddling Ken LYINGSTILL Livingstone, has begun to be uttering just as crassly as Ken Lyingstill himself used to do [and is still doing, ‘courtesy’ of the idiotic MORNING CRASS which offensively stiles itself as the ‘daily paper of British Left] ..... Either Johnson is losing whatever fantasy marbles there might have been up there underneath the unethical display or he is no longer mentally active....... There is no way that Gordon Brown can be right... He is causing the serious problems..... of extra debts [To be continued]

That Boris Johnson is even more unreliable than anyone could have been led to assume he was as based on the promises proffered in the months before the 1 May 2008 ‘poll’.

We are asking these questions the response to which will be published by Khoodeelaar! on their print and the internet bulletins and sites.

When did Tower Hamlets Council first have any contact with the Crossrail company [CLRL] [or with any other outfit that may at the relevant time not have been called CLRL but by another name or designation or acronym] about the Idea Store Whitechapel and who represented or acted or spoke or appeared on behalf of OR IN THE NAME OF the LBTH Council and what had in fact prompted that particular reference or set of references at whose centre lay or stood the ‘Idea Store’ ‘Whitechapel’?
2. Who had initiated the relevant references and who made the link between the “Idea Store” and its "design” and the “Cash” that Crossrail eventually paid about that or with reference to that?
3. How much money was paid by Crossrail about the “Idea Store”?
4. When was the payment sought?
5. When was the payment received?
6. What legal advice was sought by Tower Hamlets Council if any was in fact at all sought about the deal?
7. Who acted as the advisor [in any legal advice engagement or briefing]?
8. What constitutional basis was said to exist at the time when the cash deal was being made for the Crossrail the payment to Tower Hamlets Council?
9. Did anyone go on the record and are there minutes of the meetings and are there documents showing all the contacts and the communications that took place between the Tower Hamlets Council and the Crossrail interests at the time and covering the whole deal?
10. Given that the Crossrail plan is yet a theory - as distinct from a legally implementable programme- and the hybrid Crossrail Bill was not even introduced to the UK House of Commons until 22 February 2005, who decided to even contemplate involving the legal and the constitutional entity of the London Borough of Tower Hamlets Council in a clearly speculative, illegal deal?
11. If Tower Hamlets Council has been paying cash to so-called ethnic language titles circulating in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets Council [especially in the past two months] making all manner of claims to the effect that it – the controlling collection of personnel acting as and in the name of the LBTH Council – has not behaved dishonestly, that it has not concealed the core facts from the community about the Council’s behaviour on the Crossrail hole plan, that it has abided by the demands of the community as expressed at the meeting on 22 January 2006 in the motion spoken and moved by Mr Muhammad Haque – then how is it that we are still, at 7 March 2006 having to ask these detailed questions of so many ‘senior’ employees in the LBTH Council about what the Council did in its clearly speculative and unrepresentative deals with Crossrail for any cash payments?

You are being asked these questions because when we tried to speak to you we were repeatedly given the run around on Monday 6 March 2006.
Your name was in fact mentioned by one of the senior employees of the Council.
Then we tried to get the information from Heather Wills, but she was said to be forever unavailable.
There is in our experience a pattern of behaviour on the parts of employees concerned when it comes to getting them to disclose ordinary information about ordinary matters.
We are asking these questions the response to which will be published by Khoodeelaar! on their print and the internet bulletins and sites.

Lawson boom, Brown boom, they all bust in the end

It will be a bleak January before, technically, we have official verification of the new recession, when the GDP numbers for October to December confirm a second consecutive quarter of falling national income. Yet that can be seen as a fait accompli, with a further steep decline now an inevitability after the sharper than expected 0.5 per cent drop of the past three months.
The scale of that 0.5 per cent plunge in GDP, which came after the economy stagnated, with zero growth, in the second quarter, has magnified fears over the danger that the new recession will be at least as deep and protracted as that endured in the early Nineties, perhaps worse.
True, last week's news was far from as bad as the severe slump that heralded the last recession. Then, GDP abruptly collapsed by 1.2 per cent in the third quarter of 1990, having risen by 0.5 per cent in the second quarter, and by 0.8 per cent in the first. Yet, the looming threat of a painful economic slump was spattered in red ink across Friday's data.
It remains possible that Britain will be able to escape the new recession becoming as vicious as that of the early Nineties. But last week's figures were bad enough to suggest that this will require both a large dose of luck, and some swift and well-judged action by the authorities. Indeed, the very real danger is that the economy could plunge on a scale similar to, or worse than, the still more brutal early Eighties recession.
Especially ominous were the dire straits of the services sector, accounting for three quarters of the economy, laid bare by Friday's figures. Services as a whole shrank by 0.4 per cent, its fastest pace of decline for 18 years, led by a 1.7per cent collapse in the consumer-dependent retail, wholesale, hotels and restaurants sector.
It seems very probable that the economy will now slide into a steep, consumer-driven downturn. With little to induce fretful consumers to stop their retreat from shops, incomes having endured a severe squeeze from soaring living costs offset by only modest pay rises, and credit remaining scarce and costly, a consumer bust to follow the consumer boom that, in reality, ended some time back, seems a certainty.
The National Institute of Economic and Social Research expects consumer spending will plummet by 3.4 per cent next year and that Britain is set to suffer the worst recession of any leading economy.
For Gordon Brown, savouring the revived poll ratings that have accompanied deserved plaudits for Britain's role in leading this month's rescues of the world's banks, this is a moment of substantial danger. As the economy wilts, the Prime Minister's revitalised standing will shrivel like autumn leaves. A catastrophic implosion of the global banking system may have been averted, along with the worldwide Depression that it would have triggered, but that will not prevent voters from blaming Mr Brown for the more modest economic calamity of a nasty recession.
The Conservatives' mockery of the Prime Minister's hubris in claiming to have banished “boom and bust” is understandable, and will no doubt score the Tories points. It is certainly true that the overhauled system of financial regulation put in place by Mr Brown in 1997 has been tested to near destruction and found badly wanting by the present crisis. It is true, too, that the Treasury and Bank of England might well have done more to rein in the headlong housing boom and the personal debt explosion that will now play their part in amplifying the bust we are about to suffer.
Yet the Tories might caution themselves that the Government's culpability for the new recession is relatively modest compared with their own responsibility for the previous one, which was the direct consequence of grave misjudgments by ministers.
Indeed, as Geoffrey Dicks, of RBS, points out in a new analysis, comparisons with the early Nineties recession are telling, offering some grounds for optimism, as well as gloom, as we ask whether things will be worse this time around.
As Mr Dicks sets out, the grounds for optimism are that, in many ways, Britain entered the last recession in a much worse state than now, thanks to a series of home-grown errors. In the late Eighties, the economy was allowed to embark on the runaway “Lawson Boom” in which consumer spending was, at one point, rising at an annual pace of 8 per cent. Inflation soared from 3 per cent in 1988 to more than 8 per cent, requiring interest rates to be doubled in 18 months to 15 per cent. The bust was then compounded by the catastrophic decision to join the European exchange-rate mechanism (ERM) at a hugely overvalued rate for the pound. This not only throttled manufacturing but conspired to keep interest rates at deadening levels even when recession took hold.
While there is much to be fearful about now, this time around matters are very different. Crucially, the inflation problem we have had is less potent, and rather than being home-grown emanates mainly from the past surge in world oil and food prices, which are now in sharp retreat. Nor does the Bank of England have its hands tied as it did in the early Nineties — it is free to cut interest rates sharply and has begun to do so.
There are, however, other vital threats to the outlook that were not present in the early Nineties. Critically, as Mr Dicks notes, the housing market is in a much more parlous state. House prices have plunged as much in the past 12months as they did in the whole of the last recession and mortgage approvals are also now down by more than in that episode thanks to the continued credit drought. At the same time, households have suffered a far more extreme squeeze on disposable income in the past three years, with almost no increase after tax and inflation. Amounts being saved have collapsed to about zero as a result — raising the acute risk that falls in consumer spending could be very sharp as recession leads Britons to rebuild their savings for the future.
These perils to economic prospects are heightened by the risk that, even if the Bank cuts official base rates, the beneficial effect will be dulled as financially strained banks continue to restrict lending and charge more for it, while consumers and companies remain reluctant to borrow.
All of this leads to the conclusion that decisive and aggressive action by the Bank is now both possible and essential, if severe recession is to be avoided. Fortunately, it also seems probable. If radical cuts in interest rates are now rapidly delivered, these, coupled with steep falls in the pound, and decisive fiscal measures from the Chancellor, can still save the economy from a disastrous slump.

KHOODEELAAR the Brick Lane London E1 area campaign against the Crossrail hole Bill is opposed to the provisions in that Bill for digging a hole and doing related damage and destruction to the area.
KHOODEELAAR is also opposed to your role so far in uttering falsehoods and fabricating scenarios that are not factual truthful or legitimate.
KHOODEELAAR has noticed that you are engaged in undermining what legitimate acceptability there still remains in the process of the UK House of Commons [and of Lords]
KHOODEELAAR is of the view that you are doing whatever you are and have been doing for the railroading of the Crassrail adventure because you are an agent for the forces that are bent on profit at any cost and profit at the cost of the public.
You must not carry on like that.
The Brick Lane London E1 area is not any less important as a community than any other in any part of the UK and your assumption that this community does not exist or that it is not worthy of being given the utmost and the fullest constitutional consideration by the UK Houses of Parliament is a dangerously antisocial and antidemocratic assumption.
Please review your role and adopt a democratic and legitimate one.
Please also abandon the habit of dressing up lies as being ‘truths’ under banners of the City of London or of the Corporation of London.
Your promotion of the lie that Crossrail project is good and that it is good notwithstanding the technical, the economic, the democratic, the environmental, the social discrimination and violations it contains and those it will inflict, shows that you are not bothered about democracy as much as you are bothered for profit for the few at the expense of the many.

Alistair Darling will come under pressure this week to act to halt the dramatic slide in the value of the pound, which has tumbled to a six-year low against the dollar and all-time low against the euro.
The currency has taken a battering in the markets as investors have become increasingly nervous about the state of the UK economy, the Government's public spending plans and a widely anticipated programme of interest rate cuts by the Bank of England.
The Chancellor of the Exchequer, who is due to make a speech at City University in London on Wednesday evening, is expected to attempt to slow the fall of the pound, which slipped through the $1.60 mark on Thursday last week for the first time since 2003, by assuring the financial community that the Government has not abandoned its budgetary rules.
The pound closed at $1.59 on Friday, its lowest level for six years, and is also down to a record low against the euro, which appreciated to 83p last week.
Investors' nerves were not helped on Friday when the UK economy was shown to have contracted by 0.5 per cent in the last quarter, a bigger slowdown than expected, and after Gordon Brown and the Bank of England's Governor, Mervyn King, said that a recession, measured as two consecutive quarters of negative growth, was likely.
The markets are worried that the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) of the Bank of England will be forced to rapidly cut interest rates in the coming months, starting at its next meeting on 6 November, to reflate the flagging economy. The consensus view among City economists is that the MPC will reduce rates by 0.75 percentage points. This, it is feared, will offer investors fewer incentives to hold the currency, leading to a more dramatic sell-off.
A number of analysts expect thatthe MPC will need to cut rates to just2 per cent by next year, a level that has not been seen in the UK since the 1950s.
It is not just falling interest rates that have put the pound under pressure. As the global economic downturn takes hold, investors are looking for what are traditionally considered to be safe havens, such as short-term US Treasury Bills, the Swiss franc and the yen.
The markets are also worried that as the economy enters a recessionary period the Government will be forced to increase borrowing, paid for largely by issuing government debt in the form of gilts. As the number of bonds floods the market, already saturated by securities from other countries attempting to raise money, so investors are worried that the Government will be forced to increase yields to attract buyers. Some also fear that the higher taxes needed to service the debt, which will soar as a result of the bank recapitalisation programme as well as the economic downturn, could hamper the MPC's ability to reduce base rates, slowing any economic recovery and, ironically, leading to inflationary pressure.
Ruth Lea, a former director of the Centre for Policy Studies and now economic adviser to the Arbuthnot Banking Group, said: "The worst case is that all this leads to a run on the pound: that is the meltdown scenario, and while I would not say it is a probability at this stage, it is certainly a possibility. Sterling has dropped rapidly in the last few days, and while some of that is due to investors rushing to the dollar, which is still the only currency people have to have, the speed of that drop is a concern. Given the amount of borrowing the Government has to do, there is a chance that foreigners will no longer be prepared to hold sterling, and if that happens, it is 1976 all over again and it is back to the IMF."
It is the rate of sterling's decline that has spooked the markets. The pound was worth nearly $2 earlier this year, with many now predicting that the pound could drop as low as the psychologically important $1.50. The currency has also devalued by more than 15 per cent in the last year against a trade-weighted basket of leading currencies.
The Treasury declined to comment on what Mr Darling would say this week, but it is understood that the Government will not take action to artificially stimulate sterling. The last time the UK actively supported the pound was in the early 1990s, when sterling was in the Exchange Rate Mechanism. Last Wednesday sterling fell 6.25 cents against the dollar, suffering its steepest fall since the aftermath of Black Wednesday in 1992, when the Major government had to abandon the ERM.
Instead, Mr Darling is likely to reassert the Government's commitment to its spending plans, saying that the Treasury will stick to its budgetary rules.
Many observers will be keen to see how far Mr Darling wants to go in bringing forward large public spending projects, such as Crossrail and the 2012 Olympics. The bailing out of the banks and reports that the Government will try to spend its way out of recession by using reflationary policies has undermined sterling, some analysts believe.

In his last ‘full length’ and broadcast BBC TV ‘debate’ before 1 May 2008, Ken Livingstone admitted that he had LIED. He had lied and oversold London’s ‘merits’ for the 2012 Olympic Games....His ‘justification’ was that he had to lie. Otherwise, the East End of London was doomed...
That is what he said to David Dimbleby [and a few million watching]
That Lie was so brazen that nobody watching the edition of the BBC TV QUESTION TIME Programme could have missed it.
The lie was not hidden, like most of them are....
That one was brazen.
And that brazen lie was delivered as if it was an act of universal virtue! As if the lying Livingstone had done everyone else a favour by lumbering the public with the adventure.
To him it was an electorally attractive point to spin on the BBC.... Doing a great favour to the deprived East End of London !
From hosting the Olympic Games to lying for struggle had been to make the de bit of the East ~End of London lain derelict by successions of neglectful Governments!
And here comes the saviour Ken ‘little man’ Livingstone !
Nobody had ever heard of him...
His entire life’s struggle had been about improving the lot of the poor, the deprived, the inarticulate, the uneducated ‘East Enders’ !
It was not even brazen... It was a criminally calculated poisonous multi-whammy that defied the ordinary senses and the ordinary understanding of the difference between ingrained corruption and dignity....

Corruption, sleaze and dehumanisation are three of the headline words that can be used to refer to the millions of lives ruined by the degenerative culture flaunted by successions of crooks holding positions of ‘power’ in local councils, regional assemblies and UK central Govt departments and ministries.The Guardian has been at the forefront of backing the crooks. under many diverse guises The buzz word now is of course the equally corrupting, contaminating diversity...It is the one that has replaced the dozens that were ‘in fashion’ as far as the contaminating lies of the Guardian were concerned.
What they used to hide under racism they now flaunt in the display box of diversity.
And every conceivable contemporary pretext and psychological emotion is invoked to justify the degeneration programme that is being carried out..

Corruption, sleaze and dehumanisation are three of the headline words that can be used to refer to the millions of lives ruined by the degenerative culture flaunted by successions of crooks holding positions of ‘power’ in local councils, regional assemblies and UK central Govt departments and ministries.The Guardian has been at the forefront of backing the crooks. under many diverse guises The buzz word now is of course the equally corrupting, contaminating diversity...It is the one that has replaced the dozens that were ‘in fashion’ as far as the contaminating lies of the Guardian were concerned.
What they used to hide under racism they now flaunt in the display box of diversity.
And every conceivable contemporary pretext and psychological emotion is invoked to justify the degeneration programme that is being carried out..

On that basis, the decent thing that Polly herself can do and needs to do is to get the LYING Guardian to tell the truth about CRASSrail!
For years the lying Guardian has been peddling Crossrail....
Time now for Polly to show that she has the guts and the honesty and the dignity to practise what she has just preached at Brown’s expense...

Prime minister's questions yesterday were ostensibly about the economy. In fact the session was about George Osborne. The shadow chancellor, shiny and glistening as always, arrived to a supportive cheer from his own side - plus some mockery from Labour.
He sat down on the bench and did what all politicians in his position are hard-wired to do - he smiled, chuckled and chatted to the chap next to him. The message is: "Anything you say about me is just a joke, and I can laugh it off! Ha, ha!"
Isn't it revealing that these people, folk such as Osborne and Lord Mandelson, are supposed to be deadly political rivals, but are really dear, dear friends?

The Tory leader switched tactics. He asked the prime minister to admit that he had not, as billed so often and so long, ended boom and bust. He asked him many times.
Did he imagine that Brown would break down and whimper, "Yes, you're right, I have failed the nation. I shall go to a quiet room with a service revolver and a bottle of ouzo"? The prime minister ignored the question.
Then we heard from Dennis Skinner, the old sea-green incorruptible, the last of the leftwing samurai. Mr Skinner resembles a Japanese soldier who, discovered in the jungle years after hostilities have ceased, tells the rescue party that he knows the war is over, but he doesn't care and will go on fighting anyway. "Will the prime minister give a rock-solid assurance that whatever he does to clear the nation's debts, he will never, ever meet a Russian billionaire and try to cadge the money? We will leave that to the sleazy Tory party!" he declared. He waved an angry arm.
Normally Mr Skinner is greeted by an indulgent smile which means "dear old Dennis, what a character!"
But Gordon Brown just grunted and said: "This is a very serious matter, and I hope it will be investigated by the authorities."
Quite what there is to investigate isn't entirely clear.
"Tories try to tap rich man for moolah; fail" is not quite Watergate yet, though plenty of people - some of them Tories - are hoping that it will be.

Prime minister's questions yesterday were ostensibly about the economy. In fact the session was about George Osborne. The shadow chancellor, shiny and glistening as always, arrived to a supportive cheer from his own side - plus some mockery from Labour.
He sat down on the bench and did what all politicians in his position are hard-wired to do - he smiled, chuckled and chatted to the chap next to him. The message is: "Anything you say about me is just a joke, and I can laugh it off! Ha, ha!"
Isn't it revealing that these people, folk such as Osborne and Lord Mandelson, are supposed to be deadly political rivals, but are really dear, dear friends?

They give a hint of what is to come: the Government's current receipts grew by just £1 billion to £39.2 billion but expenditure climbed by almost £2 billion to £43.6 billion. Businesses were already feeling the heat: corporation tax revenues were eight per cent lower at £1.85 billion compared with the same month last year.Things haven't been helped by the £2.7 billion cost of resolving the 10p tax row and recent measures to help the housing market.The second half of the Keynesian doctrine is increased taxation. That, coupled with a long-term slowdown in government expenditure, now looks unavoidable. But the problem for Mr Darling is that more tax, less spending will slow the recovery.

The Chancellor, it quickly emerges, is also a lover of John Maynard Keynes – but in a strictly economic and political context.
He describes the godfather of state intervention as "the greatest economist of the last century" and is quick to agree with those who claim Keynesian policies – such as the undertaking of grand government-spending projects in a bid to beat unemployment – have a particular relevance as Britain's economy hurtles towards full-blow recession.
Few, if any, Chancellors can have experienced such a turbulent few months as Mr Darling has. Widely excoriated (including, reportedly, by sources close to Gordon Brown) for claiming in August that the world economy faced its most serious crisis for 60 years, subsequent events have completely vindicated his prediction.
Mr Darling has spent the last month at the centre of the financial whirlwind that has destroyed institutions in Britain and around the world, and has been feted as the co-author of the "Brown-Darling" blueprint for bailing out banks, versions of which are being widely adopted by other countries.

Mr Darling smiles wryly when this is put to him. "It really gives substance to the saying that a week is a long time in politics. Two months is even longer. In politics there are always ups and downs. I've never been shaken in my belief."
As if to emphasise the point that he gives it to you straight, the Chancellor makes no bones about the seriousness of the economic crisis gripping the country.
Key economic indicators to be published this week are expected both to show that Britain has entered a phase of what economists call "negative growth" (two successive quarters of which denote the official start of a recession) and to provide the first evidence of the huge increases in government borrowing necessary to help bail out the banks.
Mr Darling does not permit himself to use the term "recession" but does talk about negative growth hitting countries such as France, Germany and Italy. "It's a classic example of external shocks to the system hitting all countries. It will affect us. This is a time when you have to support the economy. Governments across the world will support their economies because that's how you support people and that's how you support businesses."
It is at this point that the spirit of Keynes, once again, is invoked. Mr Darling makes it clear that his forthcoming Pre Budget Report will outline a way ahead which will not feature cuts in public spending or tax increases.
On the contrary – public spending will be "reprioritised" towards helping popular, employment-creating sectors such as housing, energy and small businesses while big projects such as the 2012 London Olympics and the Crossrail train link in London will see taxpayers' billions helping shore up the jobs market at a time of rising unemployment.
"At a time like this," Mr Darling declares, "it would be wrong for every reason to start taking money out of the economy, in terms of cutting back on spending, in terms of tax. You do not do this when an economy is slowing down. Much of what Keynes wrote still makes a lot of sense. You will see us switching our spending priorities to areas that make a difference – housing and energy are classic cases where people are feeling squeezed at the moment. They do expect the government at a time like this to help them, we'll do that, and there'll be more examples of that.
"Crossrail will support the economy – people will be employed to build that railway over the next seven or eight years, the Olympics employ a large number of people and defence spending is also a big employer."
How will all these projects be paid for if taxes do not go up and there are no cuts in state spending totals? Inevitably, by borrowing more, the Chancellor confirms, justifying this by pointing to debt reductions in the 10 years from 1997, when Labour came to power. "We can allow borrowing to rise – it's been necessary to finance not just that expenditure but also in relation to the money I've announced to the banks."
Although Mr Brown and Mr Darling have won plaudits – not least internationally – for their bank rescue plan, the government's future prospects overall look far from rosy.
The turning point will come, according to many pundits, when the crisis in the financial sector starts to impact on the "real economy" – particularly in terms of joblessness and home repossessions. With this in mind, now that the taxpayer owns large chunks of major banks, surely it is right that lenders should do more to protect home owners?
Mr Darling agrees, citing an agreement under the Council of Mortgage Lenders that all banks have previously signed up to. "It says you must do everything you possibly can to avoid a repossession."
He says part-nationalised banks "will continue to be run on a commercial basis at arms' length from ministers" but warns them that the days of taking risks with loans are over.
"I will emphasise this – I do not want us to get back into a situation where people are given loans they can't afford or where the security on offer simply isn't enough. Banks need to learn – all of them, not just the ones we have shareholdings in – that taking excessive risks doesn't do the country any good."
Unemployment is forecast by some to hit two million by Christmas this year and three million a year later – totals not seen since the country took Margaret Thatcher's harsh economic medicine in the 1980s.
Mr Darling speaks passionately of the need not to turn the dole queue into a scrap-heap.
"It's a tragedy when anybody loses their job. One of the things that motivated me to become involved in politics was the high levels of unemployment we saw in the 80s and 90s. The government then did precious little to help an entire generation. There were generations of people who lost their jobs in the 80s and never went back to work again. I'm not going to let that happen again."
It is all too clear after speaking to Mr Darling, as if there were any doubt, that the road back to economic prosperity will be long and extremely hard. The Chancellor's determination is not in question. Having held a variety of cabinet posts and having been at the centre of an epic period of economic turbulence I am keen to know if he has any political ambitions left. He shrugs the question aside. "This is what I'm concentrating on," he says. "We've got a way to go yet, but I want to see this through."”

The Chancellor, it quickly emerges, is also a lover of John Maynard Keynes – but in a strictly economic and political context.
He describes the godfather of state intervention as "the greatest economist of the last century" and is quick to agree with those who claim Keynesian policies – such as the undertaking of grand government-spending projects in a bid to beat unemployment – have a particular relevance as Britain's economy hurtles towards full-blow recession.

Tony Travers, despite being sited by Big Business at an address at a London 'academic' outpost, is not a genuine academic.

And underneath in a subheading it says, "Crossrail will slash journey times and bump up property prices on both sides of the capital" Then you quote a whole range of property companies stating in gleeful terms how the prices of properties in currently deprived [!] areas will shoot up! They specifically also mention the Whitechapel area in the East End of London. Poverty and deprivation there are between the UK's highest. There is no irony in the Crossrail hypers' glee that the deprived and the low-income people will SUFFER as a direct result of the ADDITIONAL income disparity and the ADDITIONAL social exclusion and inequality that Crossrail will cause. What a way to waste £Billions of public money boosting the coffers of those who cause inequality in society. This ‘news’ is being broadcast less than 48 hours after the propaganda outlets carried the ‘endorsement’ from the ‘Nobel prize for economics’-recipient t for the year 2008 that Gordon Brown, by ‘taking the actions on banks in the UK..’ , had ‘saved the world’! The BBC is YET to explain the link! If the BBC ever can tell the difference between fakery and the truth... This is continuing examination of the edition of ‘STRAIGHT TALK” fronted by Andrew neil and broadcast several times on the BBC TV channels in the past 24 hours. That edition was a peddling piece for Ken Livingstone...
1355 GMT London Sunday 12 October 2008: KHOODEELAAR! No to “London Crossrail hole scam Big Business agenda of looting the public purse....” CAMPAIGN looked for a trace of the ‘world class city’ bragging in the ‘10 times-repeated’ [on the BBC TV channels in the past 24 hours] ‘interview’ that Andrew Neil contrived as part of the corrupt peddling of the career of Ken Livingstone ... There was no such bragging. There was a trace of bragging in the utterances of Livingstone in the promotional interview..... such as the bragging that Livingstone never paid any attention to the Blaired party bureaucrats, doing what he considered right for him to do... But there was no bragging about the ‘City of London’ or about ‘London’ as in any way being the ‘world class’ anything... That was significant. That was remarkable... Because Livingstone did refer to his being defeated by Boris Johnson. As did Andrew Neil...Neither, however, referred to what Livingstone had said in the run up to that ‘election’ [dated 1 May 2008]. That was very odd. For Livingstone peddled the ‘success’ and the ‘achievement’ of the Noi York mayor [and warmonger, Billionaire and backer of the occupation of Iraq by the USA imperialist forces] Michael Bloomberg [who is still actively cultivating the field to have a go at being ‘elected’ to the White House, may be at the next, scheduled election 4 years away] ..in the segment... But he did NOT refer to what he HAD said about London in April 2008.... Any look at what he had said would show that Livingstone was unstoppable when it came to bragging for the City of London, boasting OF the City of London.....Bragging of London as ‘the world class capital’.....How come? Perhaps the answer was stated by LYINGSTILL Livingstone himself in another utterance that WAS broadcast... He said that politics was ‘the pursuit of power’ and NOT about ‘fairness’. He did believe that politics was about pursing power BRUTALLY! He did acknowledge the fact that he was in league with Big Business... He termed it ‘working’ relationship.
