KHOODEELAAR! Organiser against Big Buisness scam Crossrail TOLD Darling and Brown so! Muhammad Haque 29 August 2008

What evidence can either Gordon Brown or Alistair Darling cite to support any claim either of them may make to be treated as credible when they give any 'opinion' about the UK economy? BOTH have been involved in the 10p tax fiasco. BOTH have pumped £Billions into coffers of Big Business.

Regus vow to quit UK piles pressure on Alistair Darling
Siobhan Kennedy and Heath Aston
Business leaders sought urgent clarification from Alistair Darling last night on the rules around corporate tax after Regus, the office rental group, became the third company in as many days to say that it was quitting Britain for more a favourable tax regime.
The company said that it planned to move its headquarters to Luxembourg and would create a UK holding company in Jersey called New Regus.
Explaining the decision to leave, Regus said that the change would “help protect Regus Group’s taxation position given the ongoing uncertainty surrounding the UK tax treatment of international groups whose holding company is UK tax-resident”.
Regus’s decision follows those of Henderson Group, the asset manager, and Charter, the engineering company, both of which announced this week their intention to relocate to the Republic of Ireland for tax reasons.

John Cridland, deputy director-general of the CBI, said that the departures underscored the need for the Chancellor to clarify his tax policy for multinational companies with headquarters in the UK that generate significant profits offshore.
“He has to do more. He needs to be bolder and he needs to be clearer,” Mr Cridland told The Times. “People don’t know what to expect and that is not a good position to be in.”
The Treasury triggered controversy last June when it proposed changes to the taxation of companies’ foreign profits. That prompted at least two companies — United Business Media and Shire Pharmaceuticals — to say that they would move their headquarters offshore, while several others, including WPP, the media giant, threatened to follow suit.
Last month, after a series of meetings with business leaders, Mr Darling backtracked on the bulk of the proposed changes, although he kept the door open for further refinement of the rules down the line.
Mr Cridland said it was precisely that uncertainty that was driving businesses away: “The problem is that the Government has done such damage to business confidence in its commitment to tax competitiveness that it needs to do a lot to recoup the lost ground.”
Chris Sanger, tax partner at Ernst & Young, said that there was “a whole series of companies” that were looking to move offshore and that Mr Darling needed to act “as soon as possible” to stem the tide. “There is an urgent need for a clear statement of principal by the Treasury that the UK only wants to tax profits made in the UK and those diverted from the UK,” he said.
The Treasury emphasised that its corporate tax rate, at 28 per cent, was the lowest in the G7 group of leading nations: “As the Chancellor has said previously, we will look to reduce the rate of corporation tax further as circumstances allow.” A source said that there were no plans to change the rules around foreign profits, although he conceded that changes could be made in the future.
Regus, which will continue to trade on the London Stock Exchange, said that the move to Luxembourg would reduce the tax burden on the company, which operates from 900 locations in 71 countries.
In a letter yesterday, George Osborne, the Shadow Chancellor, urged Mr Darling to adopt Tory plans to cut corporation tax to 25 per cent and to simplify the overall tax system. “This would bring greater certainty and proper consultation in place of damaging uncertainty and a lack of consultation we have seen,” Mr Osborne said.
A Treasury aide said that cutting corporation tax to 25 per cent would not help the UK to compete with countries such as Ireland, where the rate is 12.5 per cent. He also said that the Tories’ plans to cut the tax meant reducing business allowances, which effectively meant you were “giving with one hand, but taking with the other”.
Labour has bit the hand that feeds. This party of trades unionists, teachers, think tank employees, charity workers etc are simply no up to the job and have no concept of maintaining a balance sheet. Companies are leaving the UK which is down to a bureaucratic high taxing government.

Is it the Chancellor's fault, or are we just facing a scenario a bit like in the US where 90% of corporations base their HQ in the state with the most liberal, least-liability legal regime for companies, i.e. Delaware, and all the other states try to imitate it by way of competing for business?

KHOODEELAAR! Published again our simultaneous rebuttal of Gordon Brown’s utterances. We did so on the twitter site as Brown was on the Andrew Marr show on the BBC.
We told GORDON BROWN in our rebuttals this morning that he was faking it and uttering lies on the BBC.
What was the central lie at the core of Gordon Brown’s faked appearance?
It was faked because Andrew Marr is a placeman. Has been all his ‘career’. And he is incapable of telling the whole truth, no matter what he is peddling. This morning [Sunday 31 May 2009], Marr was peddling the business justification for the BBC. Licence fee, Licence fee.
So he was faking himself as a ‘tough’ interrogator. The fakery dominated the proceedings/
Marr managed to come across as plasticky and as pastiched as he ever had done.
The fakery was in the crafty assumption that he would come across as asking tough questions without really asking the tough questions.
As for Brown’s utterances of lies, he was uttering lies about the main agenda of reform that he claimed to be engaged in implementing. He claimed that he had put in place proposals two year earlier.
That was a lie. And that lie did not enhance Brown’s 'credibility' whatever.
Andrew Marr should have challenged Brown on that claim. But Marr didn’t. Instead Marr marred the moment. And let Brown ‘get away’. On the facts.
It is quite possible that Brown keeps referring to his religious and cultural roots and upbringing because collectively that is the only authentic source he can fall back on. We recognize his right to indulge it as and when he feels like doing so.
Our interest is on his role as the head of the Government. We expose his fakery when we find that in Brown’s perception of what constitute good government and democratic government he has missed the main events.
Just as we have been pointing out for more than five years to him that Big Business was BAD business, so we have been pointing out to Brown that he was wrong to assume that his sloganeering propensities were acceptable as being his actual delivery.
He was uttering lies probably on the advice of his current set of advisers. Or he was uttering the lies because he lacks due understanding of the present and contemporary political realities about and in Britain.
Whatever the actual spur and the trigger for Brown’s utterances, the bottom line is that he showed that he was not the one to deal with the collapse of the myth of a democratic parliament in Britain.
That collapse was not something that the Khoodeelaar! Campaign has needed to wait for. We are the ones who PREDICTED the collapse. Of the stooged parliament. That phrase is ours. We did find on the facts and on the evidence that Parliament was stooged, bankrupt. And corrupt. We have maintained all along that the UK Parliamentary democracy was a sham affair and that it was bound to come apart.
We made that observation in context and on the basis of the facts as we did the democratic thing, the constitutional thing, and the ethical thing and tried to engage Parliament in listening to us on the matter at hand.
We found parliament dead. Strangled. Devoid. And in terms of the actual physical access to the ‘palace’ [!!!!] we found parliament an intimidating, almost an evil edifice that was being guarded by personnel who included a number of thugs licensed to incite, provoke, insult and offend. And block. The ordinary public.
Now that it is in serious public display as a sick entity, how will society survive the exposure of the sick Parliament of Britain and how will the ordinary people in Britain protect the basic rights against the threat that is clearly building up as part of the wider and widespread sickness....

'Tunnel Vision'
And underneath in a subheading it says,
"Crossrail will slash journey times and bump up property prices on both sides of the capital"
Then you quote a whole range of property companies stating in gleeful terms how the prices of properties in currently deprived [!] areas will shoot up!
They specifically also mention the Whitechapel area in the East End of London. Poverty and deprivation there are between the UK's highest. There is no irony in the Crossrail hypers' glee that the deprived and the low-income people will SUFFER as a direct result of the ADDITIONAL income disparity and the ADDITIONAL social exclusion and inequality that crossrail will cause.
What a way to waste £Billions of public money boosting the coffers of those who cause inequality in society. The East End people WILL be made poorer still by the imposition of the Crossrail Trojan horse for speculators and big business
