Proposed network to link Bracknell to Heathrow

BAA has made a formal application to build a new stretch of railway which would mean direct rail connections between Bracknell and Heathrow Terminal Five.

The Airtrack scheme would mean a small stretch of new line built from the existing Staines to Windsor line to Heathrow, and some work to the junction at Staines to allow trains from Bracknell to get to the airport without having to go through Staines.

The news will come as a boost to those concerned that Bracknell is losing out in terms of rail links, especially once the Crossrail development is completed, linking Maidenhead with the centre of London.

Crossrail will also be going to Heathrow, and although there are no plans to link Airtrack with Crossrail, authorities may come under pressure to do this as the clamour for integrated public transport intensifies.

1240 Hrs GMT London 'Bank Holiday' Monday 13 April 2008: The media's frenetic posturing on 'standards’ and 'ethics' around the Damian McBride-Derek Draper 'e-mail disclosures' do not amount to journalism that is most urgently needed. KHOODEELAAR! has said this morning that the details and the actualite concerning the ‘access to the e-mails’ will be the subject of further media ‘trade’. But the true crisis is the absence of any morality in the Tory Opposition party. Come to that, the same blank dominates ALL the ‘British’ ‘mainstream’ [= approved!!!!] parties. And that is the real scandal.. The front page of the Daily Telegraph came first. For the second time in less than 40 minutes on the same BBC TV news channel, the picture of France’s latest ‘diversity’ Minister was the one that attracted the eyes... The Guardian news organisation [now firmly associated with ‘London and thus Metropolitan posts-occupiers’ politics’, in effect denying and undermining its Manchester AND NORTHERN ORIGINS] cited contradictory sums as London Crossrail costs. Now the Guardian Media Group's ‘flagship’ [=GMG] Manchester Evening News [=’MEN’] is doing the same.. It has published today the cost of London Crossrail as £6 Billion.. Thus slashing... the cost by a mere £10 Billion. In pointing this out, KHOODEELAAR! is also exposing the culture of callousness that dominates the ‘journalistic and editorial environment’ at the ‘London Guardian’ and within the Guardian Media Group... Perhaps the concept of CUTS that currently applies to just under 200 employees of the GMG in Manchester is catching on... they are extending the idea of cuts to Crossrail! The over-hyped soother of the Government, now being played by the Bigged up Andrew Marr fronting the spot that had previously been occupied by the 20th century’s arch booster of egos of the powerful [David Frost], predictably allowed Jacqui Smith to do a bit of ‘work’ on behalf of James Purnell, the official holder of the post at the Duped! [=DWP] allegedly the Department for Work and Pensions..Not long after the Jacqui Smith plug was played on BBC1, the ‘original’ imitator of the BNP, Gordon Brown [who had initiated the slogan a little while back as the first mainstream British Political party ‘leader’ adopting the BNP’s line, was being presented by the BBC as contradicting himself at another summit held in Berlin... Global.. global.. global.. came the word annoying all capacity left in the senses already bored beyond endurance by Brown’s appearances on the BBC platforms uttering that word...Brown is clearly not aware of what he has been up to domestically...
