KHOODEELAAR! has been calling for a truthful Parliament in the UK! How much longer must we call for that to happen before anything remotely resembling a truthful parliament is seen in action? Contextually, we remind Alistair Darling of our question to him since January 2006. We have been asking the same substantive questions since January 2006 when we obtained the formal evidence of the UK DfT [the daft Department for Transport that Alistair Darling was fronting in the Blaired cabinet at the time] paying to the Bob Kiley-fronted Transport for London outfit CLRL the sum of £100 million under the strangely enacted and quite sinister tool the Railways Act 2005: what was that £100 Million you gave to the [then] CLRL spent on? Who was paid the actual money? Why have you failed or neglected to tell the UK Parliament and through it the UK public why you paid that sum and why you have failed to tell the public what that money was used on and by who. In the absence of Alistair Darling’s response, we can only conclude on reasonable hypothesis that the money was in essence an abuse of the power that Alistair darling had in that cabinet post and that the money was shared by the various stooges, touts and agents working for the Big Business interests that had influenced the daft DfT and Alistair Darling to promote the CrossRail scam which had been tabled as ‘the CrossRail Bill’ in the UK House of Commons by Darling in February 2005.
In the context of that formality, the plugs for the Crossrail scam were taking place furiously via the London EVENING STANDARD. Their account as dated 22 February 2005 reads as follows;
“
At last ... Crossrail Bill is put before the Commons
By Dick Murray, Evening Standard, Transport Editor Last updated at 00:00am on 22.02.05
The £10billion Crossrail project moved a stage closer today when the much-delayed Bill was presented to MPs.
It signified the start of the project's path through complex legislation. MPs will start to debate the scheme later next month when the Bill reaches its second reading.
The scheme will mean a new twin-bore tunnel through the middle of London connecting Paddington with Liverpool Street where it will join existing mainline tracks. There will be greatly enlarged stations at Bond Street, Tottenham Court Road and Farringdon.
Trains will run direct from as far afield as Maidenhead in the west to Shenfield in the east. There will be a new link to Heathrow - meaning at long last the City will have direct access to the airport.
Services would start in 2014 - not in time to be of any use if London's bid to stage the Olympic Games in 2012 is successful.
Exactly who pays has remained the critical issue. However, government sources indicate that the Treasury is now willing to commit essential funds. Unconfirmed reports suggest this could be as much as £7.5 billion.
Alistair Darling, the Transport Secretary, is expected to make clear that the Government will only pay its share only if the City - which will reap tremendous benefit from the scheme - the private sector and local councils along the route contribute a major share.
It is likely that Mr Darling will announce a new consultation process - including how best the private sector might contribute.
“
It is to be noted that nowhere in the London EVENING STANDARD piece [quoted above, dated 22 February 2005] plugging the CrossRail Bill is there a single word about ‘benefit’ to Tower Hamlets. Indeed, the only parts mentioned are the City of London and Heathrow airport. The words ‘tremendous benefits” are sued about CrossRail and the City of London. So, our question to Alistair Darling today 24 February 2010 is: Why did you lie Alistair ? When you paid the £100 million to CLRL, you did so dishonestly, without accounting for it to even the formal state of the UK parliament,. And you made that grant via a most dubious piece of legislation the Railways Act 29005. We shall examine that statute in the near future

Gordon Brown: I didn't unleash 'forces of Hell' on Alistair Darling
David Knight wrote: The thing I don't understand is why would Gordon Brown's Aides act on their own accord without first being instructed by the PM? Surely the role of Aides (the clue in in the name) is to assist the PM in his duties. Roughing up the Chancellor would surely not be a fit and proper thing to do without first being asked to do so by the PM? February 24, 2010 12:31 PM GMT

You couldn't actually make up what the world's national leaders, especially our own, are doing/have done in my lifetime of 60 years. No political satire I have read or seen comes close to the shambles these people create. Does the UK HAVE to be continually at war somewhere for example? Those of us "lucky" enough to live in democracies are even more laughable of course as we elect our leaders!A benign dictatorship might work if only benign and the human condition weren't mutally exclusive. Now, a Weekend is a loooong time in politics. Brown really is a walking calamity. BTW, Brown has had over a year, 18 months now, to work out a plan to reduce deficit. Is he ever going to do anything about it? Or will he dither forever as he did over election call? February 24, 2010 12:20 PM GMT

He runs the country or so he tells us, he calls the shots and i don't believe for one minute that a bunch of civil servants would have launched a scathing attack on the Chancellor without having been given the green light. So many lies on so many levels and it just gets worse. We still have to wait another 10 weeks or so to get rid of this shower but i'm not sure that the country can wait that long!!! The man is just not suitable for the job of PM. He does not have the character nor the temperament. His supporters only back him because they are so frightened of losing their seats and the others frightened of losing the social benefits he has set on them. Without a change of government and some hard decisions from a new one we shall be in the same situation as Greece. Probably within the next three or four months, February 24, 2010 12:11 PM GMT
David Reeves wrote: This is getting tiresome. Would it be too much to ask for these people to get on with their jobs (brown has often told us that is what he is doing) while they are still in situ, or just call an election and get out of our sight for ever. February 24, 2010 12:08 PM GMT
