Khoodeelaar! has been exposing for the past six years UK Gordon Brown’s economic imprudence in office. The following is only one of literally thousands of original khoodeelaar! Diagnostic reports posted daily since July 2004 on the Internet. We have chronicled daily how Gordon brown was making misleading assertions about the UK economy. Nobody, not the Daily Telegraph, not the LONDON EVENING STANDARD, not the GUARDIAN nor a single one of the so-called professional commentators has recognised the truth that we have been pointing to. Now, years after we had begun to show the proof daily, they [the ‘mainstream’ ‘media’ and the ‘mainstream’ UK political Parties, namely Nick Clegg for the Lib Dems and D Cameron for UK Con] are at it as if all along they had been hungrily waiting for g brown to confess! Today’s utterances by them shows that they had known and could see all along what G Brown was doing. Why had they not said so at the time? Why had they not listened to us? Why had they not supported us? What had THEY backed CRASS Crossrail that was crassly conceived and crassly backed by G Brown against the advice of his own ‘expert’ Rod Eddington? [To be continued]
The following is one of hundreds of original diagnostic commentaries on G Brown that Khoodeelaar! Organiser published on the UK Indymedia. ***********
Khoodeelaar! No to Crossrail hole Bill - objection to be put to 'House of Lords AADHIKARonline in association with Khoodeelaar! No to Crossrail hole Bill | 22.12.2007 21:32 | Globalisation | Social Struggles | London | World On 8 January 2008, the UK Upper Chamber ['House of Lords] 'select committee' on the 'Crossrail Bill' starts receiving formal objections to the 'Bill'. That Bill has just been 'sent' there by the 'Lower House' [=] the 'House of Commons' which gave it the 'Third Reading'. Khoodeelaar! is organising a series of formal objections to be put to that ‘committee’ against the contents and the purpose of the ‘Crossrail Bill’. The background is that constitutional campaigning CAN produce results. May be not all that is wanted. But the Khoodeelaar! campaign against Crossrail hole Bill track record shows that we have had some results. It is a matter of serious consideration whether the same outcome would have been available had we stayed inactive, silent and casual and ‘hoped’ for the part-time, media-fixated ‘faces’ occupying any number of public positions [fetching them handsome cash remuneration and other benefits] in the name of the East End to make the odd, publicity-oriented utterances… By©Muhammad Haque 2020 Hrs GMT London Saturday 22 December 2007 On 30 March 2006, Alistair Darling had to enter a ‘written statement’ in the House of Commons to confirm a change to the relevant contents of the then Crossrail Bill. That change was about the excavation shaft that had been plotted to be sited in the Hanbury Street. Alistair Darling’s ‘written statement’ was preceded by and was directly linked with a political retreat that our campaign had pushed Darling et al into making – that retreat was signalled in a typically snide and crafty way by Ken Livingstone on Friday 24 March 2006 when Lyingstill made an incredible and unethical announcement that the Hanbury Street CrossRail DIRT hole [‘the excavation shaft’] had been scrapped. The manner in which Livingstone behaved in staging that stunt on 24 March 2006 was offensive. But he too was exhibiting the key retreat in the face of our then imminent legal action that had been announced two days earlier as scheduled to start against Darling et al in the High Court with an application being filed on Monday 27 March 2006. On 18 December 2007, Khoodeelaar! was contacted by the ‘local’ ‘East London Idiotiser’ with an alleged statement issued to them at 1605 Hrs on that date by the ‘local’ Tower Hamlets Council announcing an alleged bit of ‘good news for Crossrail’, which turned out to be yet another retreat BY Crossrail and the promoters of the unwanted CRASSRAIL hole plot. The subsequent ‘news report’ , the exposure of the Idiotiser on their getting key facts wrong [again!!!] and the comments on that [so far] are testimony to the fact that the Khoodeelaar! campaign has been actively embarked on the defence of the East End of London against the Big Business ploy disguised as a transport ‘project’. Organiser Muhammad Haque wrote about Gordon Brown what not a single one of the 'mainstream uk media' commentators had said for another good month and still not as comprehensively! The words, the contents and the message have proven to be totally correct and appropriate. All the media commentators have since echoed Muhammad Haque’s acute dissection of Gordon Brown’s disintegrating image and grasp as the ‘prudent’ finance and economics man! For that reason, it is important that Gordon Brown does not ignore what the Khoodeelaar! Campaign is telling him now: Drop the CRASSrail hole plan NOW! What the Khoodeelaar! organiser Muhammad Haque had said about Gordon Brown in September 2007: " Even as the increasingly economically misdirected agenda of the one-time ‘prudent’ Gordon Brown slides down to reach the abyss of embarrassment by Gordon Brown’s embrace of the sinister ploys of the ego-centric Ken Livingstone who has been the main tout for Big Business Crossrail hole plot, the pitfalls and the wastefulness of CrossRail are being acknowledged by some of the most unlikely of quarters and sources - including, in a bizarrely twisted way, by some within Livingstone's own empire for abuse of transport in the name of the people of London , Transport for London!. The Khoodeelaar! Movement has been monitoring and auditing these events. So that there is no claim after the disaster hits everyone, that ‘we were not warned’. So here is another timely and exclusive contribution by the Khoodeelaar! No to Crossrail hole plot campaign. Even The London Times [owned by Rupert Murdoch] has been confronted with irresistible evidence, which they have to recognise, confirming what Khoodeelaar! Analyses of Crossrail have consistently shown. In the latest report published by the Times today [Friday 14 September 2007] they have outlined some of the very things that the Khoodeelaar! Campaign against the Crossrail hole project has found in the very detailed analysis of the other studies on the subject, including the 'Eddington Transport study - the case for action'. In a comment to the Times web site, Khoodeelaar! No to CrossRail hole Bill campaign organiser Muhammad Haque has said this morning that the Time’s “identification of the problems that Crossrail will cause represents a broader view of the problems than the promoters of the current plan will claim. It is time to go back to the drawing boards and come up with the plan that will be economically and environmentally sustainable. A great deal of public money has already been wasted in the bureaucracy of the Crossrail Company. They have not produced the optimum solution to the transport needs of London. The reason why they have not done so includes the sabotage of the parliamentary scrutiny of the Crossrail Bill. In terms of the devastating effects the Crossrail hole plan will cause to the East End of London, the social deficits will far outweigh any promised economic benefits for these parts. With the world of finance behaving in the unpredictable way that it is bound to do, the promoters' big claim for Crossrail being vital to make London a world class financial centre will most likely be another wasteful and diversionary exaggeration. Scrap the Crossrail Bill now. Use sustainable economic solution to the transport needs of London.” ……." "

Conservative leader David Cameron called the Prime Minister's confession of error “a big moment” that undermined Labour's core argument that the recession was not their fault. In a television interview being broadcast tonight, Mr Brown concedes that he bowed to pressure from the City to regulate the banks more lightly than he should have. “In the Nineties, the banks all came to us and said, Look, we don't want to be regulated, we want to be free of regulation.' And, actually... we should have been regulating them more. So I've learnt from that.” Vince Cable, for the Lib-Dems, said Mr Brown had admitted being “swayed” by rich bankers and it was not enough “to hold your hands up and say sorry”. In what smacked of a bid to divert attention at the end of a Labour press conference overshadowed by the row, Lord Mandelson launched an attack on Mr Cameron that opened the Business Secretary to charges of class warfare and personal abuse. He said the Tory leader “looks down his rather long toffee nose at the regions”. Mr Cameron retorted that the peer was “the most incredible comedy figure”, adding: “He had to resign twice for misleading people from the Cabinet.” The row broke as one of Britain's most prominent business chiefs, Sir Martin Sorrell, suggested he might return his giant WPP group, which moved to lower-taxed Ireland 18 months ago, to Britain if the Tories are elected. Mr Cameron said: “This is a big moment, I think, because Gordon Brown told us two things: he said this all came from America and he said that his judgment was right in every regard. He is now saying that those two things are not true.” Mr Brown this evening tried to recover by insisting: “I've made these comments for many months. I said the world was not regulating the financial institutions well enough.” He said he had urged America to toughen the rules. There are pages of them and those relating to Blair whilst Brown was still floundering as chancellor. I am amazed Labour are so close to the Tories, or appear to be. No doubt matters will be corrected over three weeks. I think he should join the SNP. - michael, London, UK, 14/04/2010 19:01 Report abuse I think we really need to hear from Val Daniels, Dhan Raj or Keith Price to further this debate. I'd like to hear their 'thoughts' on the words of wisdom from their leader. - David, London, 14/04/2010 16:40 Report abuse What about his fatal errors in abolishing Pension funds tax credits and selling gold at rock bottom prices. If this was what he could do with PRUDENCE , then please spare us for another five years and a few decades of UK financial recovery!!! - HK, NW London, 14/04/2010 16:29 Report abuse There aren't enough characters in this box to list all of his mistakes!!! - peter, Vienna, Austria, 14/04/2010 15:09 Report abuse Gordo is only admitting his gross errors in setting up HIS bank regulation system because he hopes it will dilute criticism he is likely to get during the staged TV debate. But, his errors are even worse because he ignored warnings about excessive debt in the system. I wrote to him myslf about this. No reply (no surprise) but I was not the only one who warned him. So did Mervyn King. As usual he did not listen. - Anglo, Sussex England, 14/04/2010 14:48 Report abuse Brown can't be trusted to sit the right way 'round on a toilet seat. For three years he's bleated on about this being a global recession - and by implication not in his control - but in fact he could have beefed up the banking system to prevent hedge funds re-packaging dodgy loans and to prevent banks from making the loans in the first place. His pants are on fire. - Nobby Clark, Perth, the Scottish one, 14/04/2010 14:15 Report abuse So if he had done his job properly we would not have ended up with a highly over-leveraged banking system which resulted in the largest bank bailout globally. If he had let bankrupt Scottish banks go bust we would not now have a mountain of debt which will take a generation to clear. The man is an economic idiot - rh, london, 14/04/2010 13:42 Report abuse Greg- I agree the Tories may well have ignored the problem as well. However I don`t think they would have had the deviousness or desire to change the way the bank of England calculates inflation to suppress interest rates further to keep things booming. The BOE would also have remained as the main regulator, instead of the failed FSA. Yet Labour claim to be the party of the people! - nickspurs, London, 14/04/2010 12:49 Report abuse How can we doubt Mr Brown or his denial that the EU governs Britain, after all he confirmed nothing has changed. When he slithered in and signed the EU Treaty, exposed Britain to over 200,000 laws unreadable laws so MEP’s don’t try. Isn’t unrepresentative government, the cause of America revolting under George 111. Aren’t we now subject to an EU police force that has ultimate power & can’t be sued. No nothing has changed! We trust in PM Brown’s honesty & truthfulness. Right! We know Mr Brown would have nothing to do with lies, deceit & stealth because he told us he believes in Fairness, Honesty & Truth. When he says he learned honesty & truthfulness in the manse from his father he understands the concept of honesty more than most! I believe that, don’t you? Shame on you for your disbelieving thoughts! YahwehNews (dot) com Yes he is known as “ honesty Brown” who always accepts responsibility for his every action. So when he says he never short changed the army, navy or air force by reducing the money for them to conduct his wars. You can put your solid £pound on that!. So when he says he did not destroy people pensions you can rely on that like you can rely on melting butter in pan as a firm foundation to go on to the next truth! Right! If all the above wasn’t so we would not have all voted to put him in power to lead us! Oops sorry that’s wrong he was never voted in, was he? Hmm! Could I have perhaps made any other mistakes in this blog??? - Jas, Uk, 14/04/2010 12:39 Report abuse @ - nickspurs, London, 14/04/2010 11:49 That right and what sickens me even more was that the Tories wanted even greater laxity in the market and lets not forgot the big bank and all of the deregulation the preceded. - Greg, London, 14/04/2010 12:12 Report abuse Let the free market find its own level, and there is no such thing as society, privatised industry works, nationalised industries don’t work; Margaret Thatcher, alias Tony Blair/Gordon Brown. As they say in UKIP; three failed political Parties. - mickinlondon, london, 14/04/2010 12:08 Report abuse It`s much more serious than he has admitted. He DELIBERATELY ignored the problem and actively encourage ridiculous lending and lax monetary policies. All because the resulting housing bubble increased his tax revenues allowing him to spend (invest/ waste!)on his pet projects. The fact that excessive lending has bankrupted the nation, people can`t afford a home to live in, and the associated social ills mean nothing to him. All down to you Brown & Co and I for one will register my disgust at the ballot box. - nickspurs, London, 14/04/2010 11:49 Report abuse Brown will say anything to get back into power after 13 years of failure. - john, dundee, 14/04/2010 11:36 Report abuse Federick of London. I agree with you all the way. When Gordon and his Cabinet colleges based their political attack on class I felt sick. Can you imagine Attle doing that? Is it a crime to be polite as are as many so called Tories as Labour supporters, or have the luck to have had a decent education. There are as many people from private schools in the Labour Party and millionaires as there are in other parties. Including one ex Prime Minister. My criticism of Brown is not his mistakes, vast that they are, but his political attitude. Its frankly not what you expect in this country. Mind you I am sore about loosing two thirds of my pension in Equitable Life. But then again its his attitude, no British Prime minister should ignore not once but twice his own Parliamentary Ombudsman - ALAN,, England., 14/04/2010 11:23 Report abuse "Come on Team Cameron it is about time you started to highlight the dismal record of Brown and his hapless band of incompetents" @ - Mark Myword, London, 14/04/2010 10:07 Good point, but Cameron does not want to go into detail just in case we remember that he was behind Black Wednesday when the country was robbed by the currency speculators around the around the time we have those record 15% interest rates. Also people might bring up the happy days of when Maggie sold of the public utilities for peanuts, still at least we all, most of us, a few of us gained a few pounds on the immediate gains. Still I suppose we are all fallible. But what about council houses being sold at huge discounts, never mind it's not as though local authorities are short of properties. But otherwise a good balanced post. - Phillip, London, 14/04/2010 11:20 Report abuse Mistakes? What about selling off our Gold Reserves at the lowest price ever & flagging up he was going to do it 24 hours beforeghand so the rest of the world could stitch us up? What about the £5 billion a year raid on our Pension Funds that have left many of us with serious problems in our retirement What about the promised referendum on the EU Lisbon Treaty that has taken away the ability to run our own country etc? What about allowing new mebers of the EU to arrive in Britain, take jobs and claim full benefits, rather than have a gradual run in period like the rest of Europe has done? Etc etc Mistakes and misjudgements - that is the hallmark of NuLabor's 13 years of mis-rule. As for makeig decisions - tough or otherwise - Bottler Brown has a consistent track record of not being able to make any. Come on Team Cameron it is about time you started to highlight the dismal record of Brown and his hapless band of incompetents. - Mark Myword, London, 14/04/2010 10:07 Report abuse ahhhh... so he didn't save the world. - scotty, london, 14/04/2010 10:00 Report abuse I don't find him intimidating, i find him boring. As for his "mistake", i think that is a bit euphemistic given that his decision to take regulatory control away from the BoE has ultimately cost us, the taxpayers, around $168bn plus interest. - ST, London, 14/04/2010 09:51 Report abuse I am an ordinary working man. I don't envy the rich and do not wish to tax them out of existance. I want a reasonably competent government for GB. Labour is not it and Brown knows we know what he is really like. Their record stinks. He got it all wrong about the banks amongst others. Why did he not resign then. Wasn't his father a minister. Well paid job in Scotland. - Frederick, London, 14/04/2010 09:42 Report abuse "...that's what my whole political philosophy is about, being on the side of people." Presumably that's why during the last 13 years, we have seen exponential growth in surveillance, the retention of DNA profiles taken from innocent people, the beginnings of an identity database as well the creeping erosion of the presumption of innocence until proved guilty. All that has occured because, no doubt he's on our side and knows what's best for us! Didn't somebody once compare him to Stalin? - Jayceeyoukay, Surrey, UK, 14/04/2010 09:29 Report abuse Oh pleeeeeaaassseee?! Don't fall for this shabby electioneering ploy. We all know he is a belligerent, arrogant "world saviour". He has been told to try and show a "softer" side for the election, Labour advisor's hoping some contrition might be a vote winner. It is disgustingly condensing and patronising, but of course will have all the ignorant Labour voters swooning. - Frank, Home Counties, England., 14/04/2010 09:24 Report abuse There were proper regulations in place for Equitable Life so what happened? No tough decisions there. - Stephen C, London, 14/04/2010 09:23 Report abuse I agree Andy, during his period in office the rich have got richer'and the poor poorer, what ever happened to the Labour Party of old, that looked to care for ordinary working people, what we need is a Labour Party who look after the ordinary man in the street,as enthusiastically as the Conservative Pary look after the very rich. - Anthony Brandling, London, 14/04/2010 09:17 Report abuse A true man of the people not afraid to admit that he makes mistakes ! This unfortunately was not the only mistake he made over the past 13 years, shut the door on your way out you lying, incompetent bully...... - Andy Woodhead, London, ENGLAND, 14/04/2010 08:10 Report abuse Add your comment Name: Town and country: Your comment:Terms and conditions
